For new technicians this is the gentleman that you have to pay attention it will teach you all kinds of stuff and believe me you got to have a little patient and down the road you going to be just fine he's got a lot of knowledge to share with you guys. Craig well done as allways.
not only for the new techs , this channel is the best HVAC channel there is imo...ve been in the trade for more than a decade and i'm still learnin new things watching his vids
You can tell an instructor from a UA-cam service Technician. A technician will usually slip in something bad about Goodman, because Goodman doesn’t pay companies incentives like some other brands. An instructor will teach you that if you install a system correctly, they are all good
Hello! I noticed that you had the positive port of the manometer hooked to the - Side of the switch (more of a vacuum ) . And the negative port of the manometer hooked to the + side of the switch that connects to the burner box which is atmospheric. For ur differential. Is that a mistake ? Or does it not matter ??? I’m a new technician out of school and I am constantly running into pressure switch issues and I am trying to really grasp what readings I’m looking at and what readings I should have 100%. So I am not just guessing
Thank you for your great content & sharing your expertise with us. But 1 question I have that I've wondered is, say the furnace goes through its sequence and starts heating. What if the pressure switch opens back up after it's already started heating, will the system shut back down or will it wait until next start up cycle. Thank you so much again.
Hey my friend. I’m still going to purchase a dual manometer but without it the furnace does everything. Cfm on, pressure switch closed, HSI lit, burners on with a flame sensor, then off 4-7 seconds.
Im wondering why on a new install why sometimes priming the drain trap is needed so the pressure switch makes but then the same issue is present when the trap is clogged..🤔
Great video. I've been doing HVAC for a 30 years 33 to be exact and have never had a really good procedure on very tough pressure switch problems. I work for a school district now and don't have to deal with it as much but we still have some furnaces there. How did you figure out it was the induction tube by your pressures that you were reading? Cuz they both right about the same. What I've done in the past is I've just disconnected both the supply in the exhaust and see if it would come on to see if it is the exhaust or intake piping. Real good video and I know it's going to help me in the future but how did you figure that one out by just looking at those pressures that it was the intake?
You are right, I just opened up the combustion air inlet and the pressure changed. Also, when the inducer is high enough to allow the pressure switch to close and the intake is just as high then you know the problem is on the intake or heat exchanger side, thanks
One small questions . I get the pressure switch hose that runs directly to the inducer . But right here I see it hooks up to the gas valve then goes to the burners to just have a hoe inside the cage burners . ? Why ?! Can you please explain throughly . Thank u
That is so that the atmospheric pressure at the burners remain the same as at the gas valve so there is no problems with the flame or at the pressure switch!

You are the best on UA-cam sir. You have the gift to teach. Thank you for all these videos , they are a huge help.
Thanks Drifter436!
Just getting started in the industry with 2 levels of school, this channel is great Thank you.
Thanks a lot Dennis!
Thank you very much. I'm a new technician I need all the help I can get your videos or not just informative but their inspirational as well.
Well thank you very much Chris! I really appreciate your note!
You are a great teacher. I will use this setup for troubleshooting. Thank you for the video.
Thanks Ron!
Just replaced a pressure that was BAD. The replacement just gave me problems after a week of working. Thoughts?

Arrived at service call.
Wiped top cabinet with a rag.
Conclusion: its goodman

Thanks ejohnfall!
hi i have the 24v going from pressure switch back to control board but still not moving to next sequence i think i have abad board?
Thank you for your great content & sharing your expertise with us. But 1 question I have that I've wondered is, say the furnace goes through its sequence and starts heating. What if the pressure switch opens back up after it's already started heating, will the system shut back down or will it wait until next start up cycle. Thank you so much again.
I've found the water column rating for the pressure switchs on the actual schematic in small writing in some cases.
Hey my friend. I’m still going to purchase a dual manometer but without it the furnace does everything. Cfm on, pressure switch closed, HSI lit, burners on with a flame sensor, then off 4-7 seconds.
Sounds like flame rectification, board or pressure switch but you would need to test each function individually, thanks
Im wondering why on a new install why sometimes priming the drain trap is needed so the pressure switch makes but then the same issue is present when the trap is clogged..🤔
Thnx for your video, i love your Chanel.
Thanks GH Leader!
Thank you very much for another great video 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸
Thanks Gilberto Patino!
Can you wire a pressure switch backwards?
hi, so on the + side of the pressure switch the vacuum is created through the heat exchanger? is this correct? thanks.
yes correct, thanks
Great video but now I'm dying to know what was the blockage!
This was a birds nest scenario, thanks Rob!
ha, pulled a squirrel carcass from one today with my k 50 cables.
Ha ha wow!

@@acservicetechchannel how would you know if you had a problem with the heat exchanger looking at those readings?
If you can’t suck right , there’s not much air to push ! Like if you put a box fan against a wall , you won’t get much air flow on the outlet !
Well done!
Thanks Watcherjohnny!
Could you do a video about correctly hooking up manometer hoses in line with pressure switches? I always get mixed up.
look up "acservicetech pressure switch" and "gas furnace component history"
enjoyable to watch ...
Thanks Pei Broker!
Awesome...
Thanks N Eliseo S Carranza!

Can this furnace be used for a down flow application ?
Yes it is can be installed horizontal right, horizontal left, upflow or downflow, thanks
AC Service Tech LLC thank you very much Craig
Glad to help Thomas!
Sweet. Look forward to your videos! I get to be the first comment 😋😀
Thanks Daniel!
