Beautiful rendition as is the singer herself . A gorgeous singer with a sublime , and a beautiful voice I must say. This bandish was immortalised by Pandit D.V.Paluskar. It also goes to show that any Indian singer should have the basic grooming in Indian Classical Music to become an accomplished singer in any genre . Kudos !!

This rendition is so bloody lifeless, simplistic, clearly rutted, and robotic, that I was wondering how did this lady dare to sing Kedar! She sings like a student who is just starting to learn! Want to get real feel of Kedar? Go listen to Mukul Shivputra, Kumar Gandharva, Malini Rajurkar, Nazakat-Salamat Ali, Padma Talwalkar, Rashid Khan, Shubha Mudgal, Venkatesh Kumar, Shruti Sadolikar, Kishori Amonkar, Amir Khan, and finally, Bhimsenji's Shudh Kedar...that is called singing Kedar! And if you rrrrealy want some out of world experience, listen to a related raag called Basanti Kedar, by Ulhas Kashalkar, Kesarbai Kerkar, Kishori Amonkar, and finally Mallikarjun Mansoor, IN THAT ORDER! Same bandish. Four renditions. Each one is fit for only gods! We are just blessed to have a chance to listen to them!

Why are we not using tabla in all latest Darbar videos? An entire dimension of beauty gets missed when tabla doesn't accompany both vocals and instruments.
Apekshit Khare taal virahit singing is also an art. It actually gives you more freedom to present your khyal because the discipline due to taal is totally removed. Still you need to control and let flow your thoughts at the same time
The whole idea is to let it flow! Without the tabla or say pakhawaj, the raga elaborates like a free flowing river. Its good to leave the taal vaadya sometimes. I am saying this as a classical dancer and someone who is learning the vaadya. :)
Very preliminary and simplistic, textbookish rendition of one of the most devine of the raags. Absolutely disengaged singer, very mechanical rendition of rut... She seems to also sing in falsetto. Not allowed in Hindustani...
Sadly in Hindustani there are many couch critics. I am no expert, but as a big Hindustani music fan, I think she sang wonderfully. Instead of criticizing others, try to advance your own music.

Her rendition of the raag is immaculate. She also has a unique purported touch of Teevra Ma that makes this rendition unique.
