Although I appreciate the vintage music, you should test modern music that's a little more base heavy too. Or something like a Prince album to bridge the gap as well since a lot of the older music tends to stay away from the low end musical notes
I agree I was thrown off by the old music .Makes the quality seem less as these recordings are not well done in the first place due to old technology .You need a recent recording to get the true sound of how this product performs @@Recordology
I have never owned a Victrola turn table and this unit looks and sounds awesome! I am also a nostalgic nut and will certainly be purchasing one of these units. Thank you very much for the review. I really enjoyed it.
My wife got me one for Christmas. I only wish it had AM and I would really love to have Short Wave. No, I am not joking. I would run the antennae to an exterior antennae. You should have played a 78 record. I have an actual Victrola from 1920's and I love the sound.
My turntable arrived yesterday & I tried it in the evening as you do. I absolutely love it! The sound is quality across the board & the bluetooth feature is awesome, it played everything on my phone, meditating apps, UA-cam, the lot! Definitely worth getting! 10/10! 😁
I bought the same machine and found this video. I'm really happy with it too. I played motorhead and led zeppelin, so it does pack a punch for sure. Great video, great unit.

I got one of these for Christmas. It’s honestly amazing and I love it! The only thing is I’ve read reviews on older Victrola players and people say they wear out the vinyl quick so now I’m wondering about his one
These type of players can wear out records faster but its not something you are going to notice in all likelihood. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thanks for the review! I purchased one of these units on 12/23 for $119.00 and I love it! The records sound much better and not tinny like on all the other Crosley models I have collected. No, it doesn't rattle the floors and windows, but it sounds good enough for a small room. The record speed is pretty accurate also. I wasn't planning on buying another record player but after seeing your review, I had to run and check it out. I don't regret my purchase, finally someone came out with a decent player.
Yes, it's two speakers in the sound bar; each one pushes 5 watts, which makes the system 10 watts total output. (Input power from the wall socket is around 25.)
Very helpful video, thanks! I ended up buying this exact same unit for my mom , and the Victrola Gramercy 6 in 1 for my girlfriend. I thought both units were the same besides the right mounted dial on the Gramercy, but I was wrong . The Gramercy had an added vintage feel with textured real wood feel and smell along with the wicker basket type of cloth on the speakers, very nice and definitely worthy of a separate review of the mid century series.

Hello. I just purchased this unit mine is a 7 + 1 which has the recording function on it. I was curious if there is a way to listen to records or CDs through my Alexa Bluetooth speakers?
My husband and I just purchased this model. However, when it was shipped, it was not in transportation mode. Now the turntable won't spin. I've searched everywhere to fix the problem, but there is no real solution. Have you had any trouble with the turntable not spinning?
I somehow overlooked this review but this a nice looking unit. It also sounds pretty decent too. Should be ideal for those that want an all-in-one solution.
I got the Victrola Cambridge (very similar to this), and I can't recommend it enough. Sounds really really good. I bought a LP60 at the same time and returned it. I have a home theater for dedicated listening, but for a casual hobby and when you don't want a speaker setup (our kitchen), this is an amazing value.
Record-ology hey, do you know of a way to adjust the tonearm on this machine? My tonearm doesn’t seem to be weighted enough and it keeps bouncing around, causing skipping! If you know what to do please give me a shout!
@@ChesttRockkwell those types of turntables won't track that well. If bass is too heavy on certain records they will skip. If there's any imperfections like scratches it will skip too.
Hi guys... I wanted to buy Victrola Aviator 8 in 1 but I saw pretty bad reviews. It has issues with quality and it just doesn't work after few months. I really like the idea with recording and usb but now I am a bit scared to buy it. Is this the same bull.. after few months or it works properly for most of you guys? if this has no issues, I will survive that it does not have USB option. Thanks!
Thanks for this video. I am about to purchase this item this weekend and this really helped to make a decision. Where is a good place to purchase vinyl? Thanks again..
Just bought one of these. Great sound and lovely machine. One thing I noticed is the plastic base moves a bit where the speed adjustment is. Especially when changing speed from 45 to 33 you have to do it gently. Is this normal?
have you tried this out with heavier records? Like Zeppelin or even some hip hop? I am choosing between this one and the audio technica lp60x but i like the look of this SO much more, so if this works well and doesn't skip on heavier tracks it's a win for me! Also, how has this lasted? Is it still working well?
Great record player this is. I bought mine last year. The only thing I've found is the volume is either too quiet or too loud. There's no in-between when you try to adjust around the 9 o clock point on the volume wheel. Hard to explain properly on here but hope you know what I mean?
If you are manly playing records save your money and buy something in the 200 $300 range (recommend a fluance rt81) this will allow you to upgrade and change your setup down the line
You can SEND BT to it (Phone, tablet, etc) But it does not transmit BT to an external speaker. However, you can connect a speaker via a headphone cable. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Some people on Amazon complain that it doesn't seem to do well with modern vinyls--the needle will bump off and travel. Do you have any experience with this?
The bass frequencies and overall sounds are often much louder on modern vinyl so that tiny ceramic cartridge won't handle those vibrations very well as its trying to track them in order to pick them up or read them.
If the needle bumps or travels it means it can't take or what's called track the bass frequencies cut into the record groove as its a mechanical device designed to pick up the vibrations carved into the record.
I bought this player second-hand but unfortunately it has a cracked screen on the tuning dial for the radio. Do you know if there's anywhere I can purchase a replacement screen at all? Thanks
I could use your advice! I’ve had this record player for a few months, and I’ve noticed that occasionally records will skip not because they are damaged, but because the platter seems to be moving so much that the needle lifts off the record, and makes it seem like the record is skipping. What can I do to fix?
Hello! Bought a Victrola-the speakers are awful. They sound with so much static (not exactly sure what to call it). The speakers literally sound like an old transistor radio-crackly, etc. Any idea on what is going on? Thanks!
I wanted to attach external speakers to it. I don’t know if this one has a pre amp in it ... there are RCA cables provided with it. Should I connect to an receiver ?
Good question - I believe cables are included - and connecting to a larger sound system would give slightly better sound, this does have a built in pre-amp as do all red tip ceramic cartridges. Thank you for watching and commenting!
A got mine for Xmas ...and having a problem with Standby mode...which turns the unit off after 15 minutes when the volume button is idle...Very anoying feature and no way to swich the mode off :(((

Hello, love your information videos, but I was just wondering why they didn't put a rewind button on the cassette player, that bothers me when a cassette doesn't have a rewind button, again thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching....... GREAT QUESTION! So I have been told that there is only one company that makes cassette mechanisms these days. They offer various models but you are correct - this is the base model. The reason it does not rewind is because it only has a one direction motor. To get around this, you just flip the tape and fast forward.
Hey, I'm just wondering if when you put it on phono, does it still have that old crackly vinyl sound? I love that old crackly sound records make and not sure if I should get a vintage record player or would I be better off with this one? Thanks!
My tonearm is sliding across my records and I've only had it for 2 weeks. I played multiple records all at 33 rpm and now my turntable is turning but skipping across each record. Recommendations? Customer service is just saying turn the back screw.
@@Recordology I doubt it. It's leveled on top of a dresser that sits on a carpet floor. I tried the penny/coin method for the tone arm and it still is sliding across. I don't want to damage my records by doing that. Any suggestions or should I just send it back?
Just got this record player and although this is my first vinyl player ever I can’t help but notice that the turntable music sounds slightly high pitched to my ears. Like only a semi tone or so higher but it’s high enough for me to notice
Do you get sound when you plug in headphones?? Mine doesn't. There seems to be a defect there, but I didn't realize it at the time when I did the review of my Victrola. But nonetheless, it was a disappointing realization!
@@Recordology I hope it was just mine and not a whole batch of them that were defective right out of the box! I'll be doing an "Update" video soon on my Victrola. I don't know if you subscribed to my channel, but it would be splendid if you did. It would also be awesome if I subscribed to yours as well.
I have the same turntable but the line output doesn't work for me, when I connect it to some speakers I still get sound from the turntable, if anyone knows what to do about it, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how to fix it
I just got this for Christmas, but it sounds like only one speaker is working when I play records. When I play the radio it plays stereo. Anyone else having issues like this
Great Turntable,Sound and Performance Wise! And,best of all,You Can put a additional Mp3 Player or CD Player or other units via a cord which is optional! Costly at $89,but worth every penny spent! 3 Speed Turntable too! Excellent Bass Sound! Bought this off Walmart.com.
Put on another record player zb Sony 330 on the line output, sounds great, much better than the original ceramic record player, you can set it on top of this machine !
I love your videos, also I'm fan of stereo sound of the microphone u use because of course I watch this using headphones, thank you for ur amazing reviews ⚡
I was looking at getting a similar Victrola model...quick question though...are the top doors adjustable? I may put it on a ladder shelf that will have a shelf above it so I’m curious if I can control the height a bit when the lid is opened.
Man I am falling in love with this. Is this an upgrade from a suitcase player? Would it also be possible to switch out the red tip stylus for a better quality one?
You can upgrade the sapphire stylus to diamond but it wont improve sound quality - only durability. This is a slight step up from a suitcase player. Thanks for commenting!
Hello again, I'm debating on buying one of these, but I'm not sure about the cassette and cd. I did buy the older version from JC Penney, but now right side of the speaker doesn't work and the cassette player makes the cassette play slow sometimes and why do some cd players don't read like they use to and stop before playing automatically, just curious, but anyway, I was just wondering if you think I should buy this one or just a 4 in 1 Victrola record player, thanks again.
Thanks for writing.....I like mine but the tape player took little while to work 100% - sometimes the lubrication needs to be spread around by running it for some time.
Are the records supposed to wobble as they go around or be perfectly flat? Also, the plate that holds the record, is it supposed to slightly tilted? I have the victrola that you showed in the beginning and I'm new to records so I'm not sure what to expect.
There will be a slight wobble on most turntables. Nothing to worry about. The platter should be as flat as possible. Thank you for watching commenting!
I have “the Metropolitan” version of this turntable, which is basically the same, minus the cassette and CD player features. Have you noticed an inconsistency of speed in playing 45 RPM records on this device? And do you know of any way to correct such a problem, by chance? 78 and 33 1/3 seems pretty consistent (or perhaps I just can’t hear the variations at those speeds), but I hear a fair amount of wavering tone at 45 RPM.
Between this one and the other victrola 6-1 with the sort of 40s design, which is better? Or how would you compare them? Cuz I think I like this design more but I saw the 40s design one in a store in my country so I’m considering what to do. Because to ship it in would cost a lot more so wondering if I should spend that significant amount extra to get the mid century one seeing as your review said it’s one of the best if not the best.
Amazing Review! I just bought mine this video confirms that I made the right choice. Thanks 🙏

My tonearm is sliding across my records and I've only had it for 2 weeks. I played multiple records all at 33 rpm and now my turntable is turning but skipping across each record. Recommendations? Customer service is just saying turn the back screw.
Could it be vibrations from the floor?
@@Recordology I doubt it. It's leveled on top of a dresser that sits on a carpet floor. I tried the penny/coin method for the tone arm and it still is sliding across. I don't want to damage my records by doing that. Any suggestions or should I just send it back?
Just got this record player and although this is my first vinyl player ever I can’t help but notice that the turntable music sounds slightly high pitched to my ears. Like only a semi tone or so higher but it’s high enough for me to notice
Got mine today finally and I loveeeee it
Awesome enjoy....
Do you get sound when you plug in headphones?? Mine doesn't. There seems to be a defect there, but I didn't realize it at the time when I did the review of my Victrola. But nonetheless, it was a disappointing realization!
It must be a problem with that specific unit.
@@Recordology I hope it was just mine and not a whole batch of them that were defective right out of the box! I'll be doing an "Update" video soon on my Victrola. I don't know if you subscribed to my channel, but it would be splendid if you did. It would also be awesome if I subscribed to yours as well.
Any speaker recommendations for this specifically for hip hip/ 70s/80s r&b and blues
Anyone else having issues like this
I just ordered one! I can’t wait to listen to my records with it! Thanks for your vidéo.
Happy to help!
The unit has Phono out at The back so when connected to another unit should it cut off the interior speakers? Like headphones do?
I don't recall if it does....
Well said!
I really would've appreciated captures from the line output. There's no way to tell what the audio quality is like through this video.
Put on another record player zb Sony 330 on the line output, sounds great, much better than the original ceramic record player, you can set it on top of this machine !
That thing is gorgeous I have the Victrola navigation love it to death
I am trying to transfer vinyl to mp3 and I can't get the victrola to talk to the computer. Suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance
This might help.... ua-cam.com/video/Kf8MTrsL54E/v-deo.html
I love your videos, also I'm fan of stereo sound of the microphone u use because of course I watch this using headphones, thank you for ur amazing reviews ⚡
I got some Panasonic thruster speakers is it possible to connect these external speakers to the record player?
I was looking at getting a similar Victrola model...quick question though...are the top doors adjustable? I may put it on a ladder shelf that will have a shelf above it so I’m curious if I can control the height a bit when the lid is opened.
Unfortunately, the door has only one open position.
@@Recordology Thanks for the reply! In that case is the cartridge replaceable for a better one?
@@Recordology thanks, love the channel
I have “the Metropolitan” version of this turntable, which is basically the same, minus the cassette and CD player features. Have you noticed an inconsistency of speed in playing 45 RPM records on this device? And do you know of any way to correct such a problem, by chance? 78 and 33 1/3 seems pretty consistent (or perhaps I just can’t hear the variations at those speeds), but I hear a fair amount of wavering tone at 45 RPM.
I have not but wow / flutter can be an issue on various all in one devices. Try letting the thing run for a while at 45....
I just got a 7in record or 45 and when I play it the tone are is weighing it down? Am I doing something wrong? Or am I supposed to balance it out?
