You can bonemeal the water (2+ deep) for coral

Another idea is too, place benches down and put beds in them so it looks like your sleeping on the bench

Mogswamp in a Update they added a feature that you can water log leaves. I think that would look better because then you also get the water flowing in between the leaves

Problem I don't know if it's just for java but you can't place the coral fan's on the trapdoor as they instantly die yet you can place the other coral witch is a bit stupid minecraft logic
