Why do you need to remove the cover? There is an opening that allows the oil plug access. For the oil access, wrap a ziplock bag or one of those amazon plastic bags around it after loosening and let it drain into the bag to keep the sub frame clean. Since this is not a type S it requires 5.5 qts of 0w-20.
Oil spills from the oil filter and the oil pan drain bolt. Just taking an extra step to ensure no oils linger. I never tried the Amazon plastic bag I’m sure it works too. @2:40

How many quarts of oil do you put in ?
I use a little over 5quarts (under 6quarts). I’ll check the dip stick and like to keep it more towards the top on the gauge.
I was told the MDX needs 6 quarts.
