I'm glad you enjoyed the retreat! Its so exciting to find other full coverage stitchers at a retreat because we are so few and far between. I love your focus project! Happy stitching 💜
You’re not alone! I would much rather stitch the full coverage than that other stuff! Enjoy your stitching your tribe will find you!! New subscriber here and can’t wait to see your progress!
I’m so glad we met and that your local so we can hang out more!! It was great getting to know you. I’m still thinking about the Live and Dye retreat… it will be easier when my youngest is in kindergarten next year… we’ll see…
You get so much stitches in on your beautiful project. Love your focus project. With full coverage project on handdyed fabric, I am too afraid to wash it. I do as well only full crosses on all my full coverage projects. Happy stitching
I went to my first retreat a few weeks ago too! I stitch a lot of full coverage, but I didn’t bring any with me. I need more focus than that unless I’m just filling in big blocks of color. I recently got my first Gecko Rouge kit, Shock Tart, and can’t wait to start it!
Love looking at others full coverage, you do amazing work, amazing dedication. I have 1 that I barely do, (and have ufo'd 2 others). I think ill stick to admiring others full coverage lol :D
It was so great to meet you too! I had a blast sitting with you! I get Lights Out from the library any day now! Excited to listen! I’d love to come out again, hopefully next year! Sorry I keep calling you the alchemy stitcher, I got it now. Love all the new starts, at least most of them you had a reason to start them. Rooting you on to finish my dream it’s going to be lovely!
I can't wait to hear what you think about Lights Out! Narration is top notch. I'm currently listening to Fourth Wing again in preparation for January 21st. I hope 3rd book doesn't disappoint.
@@AlchemistStitcher I should get it tomorrow! And I should also be getting another one tomorrow, so I'll have to tell them to wait to deliver it. They always come all at the same time! And I can't wait for Onyx Storm! Maybe I should re-listen to 4th wing...
Hi from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦. It’s great seeing all of your full-coverage yumminess!!! I just ordered my first Gecko Rouge kit and I am eagerly anticipating its arrival! Your Gecko choices are lovely! I will save up my pennies and get myself another I am sure! Have a wonderful weekend.
I follow Kelsey as well. Do you know Kevin and Erica of Accio WIP? They were at the retreat as well. Most stitchers do not bring full coverage pieces to retreats because they require so much materials.
@@angiefittro8372 I’ll have to check out Accio WIP. Thanks for the recommendation! I didn’t think about other people’s set ups for full coverages and how it might not be feasible to bring to retreats. Good point. I have all my full coverage projects kitted up on floss cards and they’re all very portable, but if people work from master sets that would definitely not be feasible to bring anywhere.
I have got to get that Katie Day kit soon, I just love that piece. Thanks for showing the comparison on Folk Witch, wow what a difference, your progress makes me want to get mine out. I have bought a few from her website but they are more long term idea projects. I decided to crop that contemporary cross piece, I got about 20k stitches in and knew I wouldn't do them all. I tent stitch exclusively but I get why people prefer full cross. We have so many projects in common lol Great video as always
Thank you for the comparison of the Gecko and folktales chart. I am just about finished with The Gamer from Gecko, love it. Really wanted to get the Folk Witch, so I bought the chart from the Etsy shop. I won't be wasting my time on it now.
Yeah the pattern from the Etsy shop was disappointing. I've always loved Gamer, but I'm not a gamer myself so I didn't think I had the right to stitch it. I love all of the plumeria flowers on that chart though! I still have two more Medusa Dollmaker kits from GeckoRouge that I haven't started yet, but I don't think I'll be purchasing any other Medusa charts from her directly.
Stunning work, amazing progress. I've just subscribed 😊 Where do you get your large plastic hoops from, (not the nurge, I have those) but your circular plastic ones have a large fastener (easy for stands) and the plastic is the same colour inside (as opposed to the cheap ones on Amazon) thanks 😊
Wonderful video! Thank you so much. You mentioned Full coverage fanatics toward the end and also that you want to focus on your dreams piece (which is really gorgeous by the way). Maybe you fell like joining the fb-challenge in the group stitching to the moon with my team? We are still looking for a couple more team mates working on blue full coverage pieces for 2025 sts each month (the more sts the merrier obv, but i didnt want it to be stressful 😅)next year 💙 would love to have you😊
I would love to join your team! I've heard Kim talk about the challenge, but I wasn't brave enough to join a team on my own without knowing anyone. How do I join? Stitching to the Moon post has over 400 comments and is a bit intimidating 😅
@AlchemistStitcher wonderful 💙💙To join, either you find my post (karo kirsch, I think you can do a search) under the event, or the Team mates finding post and comment, or I just need your FB name and can add you (hopefully) just like that 😅 it's my first time partaking on FB and was as overwhelmed as you and figured ill just start my own team and maybe find so.e more blue lovers along the way 😀
Can you talk a bit about the frames you use? Do you store them in the frame or take them out? Do you use a stand to hold them when you stitch? Thanks … your work is amazing. I went to tent stitch as my thread kept breaking when using one over full cross on 25. Do you use a thread conditioner when you stitch?
I use mostly rectangular Nurge hoops (10 in x 11 in) or cheap 10 inch embroidery hoops from local craft store for project I'm just starting. I keep all of my projects on hoops or Nurge hoops and don't take them out of the hoops until it's time to move to another section of the fabric. I haven't had any issues with it yet. I've tried Q-snaps, but couldn't get the tension right and it wasn't comfortable to hold. I do have thread conditioner, but I forget to use it 99% of the time. I've never had an issue with threads breaking on 1 over 1 25 count. That's interesting...
A question: On the gridded fabric, do you wash those once they're complete so the grids are washed away? I would hate to stitch a piece on them and have them show through forever.
Yes, I plan on washing my finishes to dissolved the grid lines. I hear that you have to use really hot water for the lines to go away, but they do go away. I'll let you know how that process goes when I'm done with Dream next year 😅
I purchased a Medusa chart from her Etsy store and about 1k stitches in I scrapped it because of how pixelated it looked for what it was. Definitely not the quality it was before it was retired.
How lovely to find another flosstuber who enjoys full coverage. You are giving me the courage to have more than one full coverage going at a time. The links will go live after about three months of consistent uploading of videos…we all have this issue initially. It will be fun to watch your progress…I figure out stitches per day to calculate my finish date. 🦉🧵🪡🇨🇦

@ also many use scroll frames or roller frames which are cumbersome to transport along with their stands.
