It always amazes me how creative minds come up with new ideas to use paper... if I did not have you tube my journals would be all the same! Thanks for sharing another inspiring idea.
Great project! It’s starting to look like the crafty equivalent of ‘sourdough starter! Start using it from the beginning edge and never stop adding to the end!
Love this idea! Kudos to Carol for such a genius idea! Using up book pages and bits! Perfect! Take heart, dear friend and mommy to a 14 year old! My difficult 14 year old girl is now 40 and the most lovely woman I know. And I truly think she loves and appreciates her momma. They have to go through the separation stage which comes off a bit surly...with all the eye rolling at their silly moms. But they are growing into themselves, finding who they are and asserting their independence. Lulu knows she’s loved and that is the solid basis which allows her to grow. She will come around to know that she was blessed to have you as her mom. Hugs and love, my friend! ❤️
Oh yes with the snippy teens! I’ve found 15 to be the most challenging! But also, I broke my ankle and my 15 year old really stepped in to help out in the house in such a great way. So I’m really seeing the wonderful parts of having a teen as well.
Oh I hope you are on the mend! That's lovely that your 15 year old was so helpful. I think Lulu would do that too. She's really a good girl , it's just the not knowing what Lulu we are going to get each day! I actually feel bad for teens as things can be such a struggle. Thank you so much!
It might not seem like it now but I really think it's a good thing that your daughter is able to speak her mind with you. I remember that I wasn't always very nice at my mother. But it was mainly because with my mum I could really be myself and express my feelings in a way that wasn't possible with others. It was becáuse my mum was so loving, patient and accepting that I sometimes lashed out at her. Which wasn't always fair to her but... I do have some friends who didn't have parents like that and weren't really able to express their feelings at home. From the outside they can seem very civil and nice families but they aren't always.
I've seen those Master Boards around and you are the only who actually explained what it is and how to merely attach book pages to make iit larger. This is a fabulous idea because you don't have to over think what to do next. Collaging is so much fun and I really love this idea. Thank you for making life easier for me Rachel. Tyfs!
That was fun...I watched Carol’s and Gayle’s video and it’s really cool how each person’s turns out different. They all have their own style. Thanks for the video and hang in there with Lulu.. it takes awhile but it gets better! My teenager is 32 now. 🙂
I have a nearly 27 year old daughter and she still does the snippy cranky thing all the time. Maybe she'll still grow out of it??? Love this by the way. What a great idea!!!!
What a brilliant idea 😊 Oh...the memories ( mum of 2 daughters here...now 35 and 29 ) yes I used to call it the "B#*ch factor, it kicks in around 13...lol, bolshy, impatience, eye rolling, crying, melodramatics... no body understands/loves me, you have no idea what you are talking about attitude ... 😯🙄 don't worry it will end in a few years...or so lovey. Thanks for the video.. I am off to look at Carol's video xox
Have always said of teenagers ‘they turn into humans eventually ‘. Have had 3 gorgeous but surly boys who have turned into delightful and respectful men who love their mum. It will pass. Love your videos Rachel and glad you can ‘vent’ to us when things don’t go well. In the end it sounded like you and Lulu had a important talk. Bullying is one of the saddest and most difficult things kids can go through and the discussion needs to be had even if they are not the ones bullied. Sorry now I’m venting. Love to your gorgeous daughter.
Hi Rachel - thank you for the mention! I know its not original - collage paper and franken paper are out there - I just loved how it grew so quickly. When I cut mine, it looks different again! one of your subbies asked about the backs - I have sewn coffee dyed paper it using as a journal card, left plain if its a pocket, and in the style of Artymaze, gessoed on the back :) looking forward to seeing what yours tomorrow :) xxx
i have only created master boards with paints, stamping and stenciling ~ i have never made one using my scraps of paper - now i will lol - those are some lovely papers - i look forward to your next video showing us how you use this - thanks Rachel xx
This idea for me is perfect , thank you for showing the I'm a beginner , n iv ask you questions I the near past n you have always answered fast n with what I think exactly what I need to hear ,especially with maps music pages you have me a huge door to open, , just saying for some items to get n away I go, thanks to you, this idea you are now showing has less confusi o n , it's giving me a start
LOL! I just watched your next video and saw that you actually did collage on the back of the "roll." Thanks for sharing this! By the way, I really could watch you collage every day. The process may be the same, but the results are always different.
Such a fabulous idea, really creative thinking! I tend to use up my scraps as I go so I haven’t got as much as I would like but I can just rip up some papers then I will have them for lots of projects… lol! 😊I guess I have to do it backwards… 😃
Roxy Creations I just came back to mixed media and new to junk journaling about 4 months ago. I am sure in a few more months I will be drowning in scraps too……lol! 😊
Soon run out of scraps at this rate, looks calming which leads nicely from the stresses of having a 14 yr old ha! I remember it like it was yesterday, one day she was my chirpy little mate then the next she was this deranged teenager who seemed to hate the sight of me until Rachel she needed a shoulder to cry on,just hold your breath and count to 10,keep a sense of humour and always be there when they need you.we girls are wonderful specimens, and she will have grown out of it by time she’s 24! Xxx🥴😘Lizzie
I made my first roll of collage based done and cut up today. I watched the video at 1 am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep because I was too excited to try it. As soon as I sent my husband off to work I ran to my craft table to start!
Love this idea too....I could see some random stamping on it and I want to try some napkins on it. Just remember with kids...there comes a time (about 13 or 14 years) where parents don't know too much...and then when they get older you suddenly seem to know things again. Stand strong and love them. :-)
I love watching people collage! It's not boring at all! (I can watch people quilt for hours, so it's kind of the same thing!!) Would putting mat medium over it all secure everything down? Or would that remove the "quick & easy" part of it?!!
Just wondering if you considered doing the plain collaging on the back of the roll, then when you cut up the roll all the pieces would be complete. I'm definitely going to do this. It's a great idea!
I loved this idea when I watched Carols video. So I went right to my craft room and started one of my own. Very relaxing and no pressure. Thanks for sharing Rachel!
Rachel, it is hard when you have 14, 15, and upward year old children.....my grandchildren are mostly in that range....the two granddaughters that live closest to me talk to me about what goes on at school....there is a bullying problem here, also, in the schools....allot of the children who do the school shootings here have been victims of bullying, or many who commit suicide.....SO....you are right in making her "remember" what the class said about bullying......you seem to have a very good relationship with Lulu and that is very good....when you can "talk" with your children they believe you are interested in what is going on in "their" world....
I love this! Great way to use up scraps. I've been doing some of this myself. Just covering 12x12 papers I don't really like. This is a great idea too! TFS!
What a great idea! I love how the paper just got longer and longer and it really did go by so quickly. Did hop over to Carols and subscrbed and watched her video too.
Loved this! Funny story, I made my first 8 x11 collage page but couldn't bear to cut it, so I printed two copies of it on my 28lb paper...and I love them! So into the digital folder went the original!.isn't that a hoot?! Thanks for sharing. As a mom and a teacher my advice is to try to remember all the fidgety feelings you had at fourteen...and I find I could calm them with giggles and compliments! She seems to be a lovely young lady, stuck between the transition into young adulthood, tough times! But you are a great role model is what I believe! Your mantra for the next couple years will be "this too shall pass"....smiles always Karen
Thank you for showing this, I hadn’t seen it done before and think it’s brilliant! I think I’ll have a go, maybe tempted to use some napkins on it too! X
I’m just starting so I don’t have much to collage with just yet but I’m working on it. This is a great idea. I just subbed to carol’s channel as well. Thanks, Rachel!
Hi Rachel, I m looking for a video with self adhesive label holder on one antik envelope...did i see that on your channel ? Greetings from Germany Gabriele
Oh Rachel...this too shall pass. Lulu is 14--it’s her job to be snippetty with her mama. 😂 One day soon (will seem like an eternity to you I’m sure) she’ll transform back to her sweet self and you’ll be the best of friends ❤️.
Yah, 14 year olds can be difficult. I had three, and deserve every grey hair! Darn hormones! When they were old enough to drive and have lots of friends, we had them all sign a contract with us. They could call us, without getting into trouble, if they’d been drinking and needed a ride home. We would talk about it the next day and go from there. It worked for us. As always, love the tutorialS!
So much fun to make...and so much fun to watch! Thank you and thanks for the introduction to Carol!
Thank you so much!
I love this idea. Thank you both for inspiring all of us.
Thank you so much!
Brilliant!!! I can hear my scraps screaming, "No, no, no...she's found a way to use us!! " Thanks Rachel via Carol Laws!! xo
Hahaha, your scraps such be happy they didn't end up in the bin!!! Thank you so much!
These are so awesome for tags and pockets and would make great signature pages, thank you for sharing and thank you to Carol.
Really useful and fun to make. Thank you so much!
Great idea! This way you can use all of your bits and pieces of paper. Love it.
Thank you so much!
What a fun, clever idea! And yours is so beautiful!! Can’t wait to try this!! Thank you, Rachel! ❤️
It's super fun! Thank you so much!

Such a splendid idea...thanks Rachel and Carol...Smiles, Carol
I hope you give it a go! Thank you so much!
Cool idea for great use of SO MANY scraps. I think this would be fun to create a larger piece and wrap a gift also.
Great idea! Thank you so much 😊
Great idea! What a wonderful way to use up all those scraps we accumulate!
Thank you so much!
Great project! It’s starting to look like the crafty equivalent of ‘sourdough starter! Start using it from the beginning edge and never stop adding to the end!

Yes bullying goes on, it's terrible! Thankfully most days Lulu is her lovely self, she goes off the rails only occasionally. Thank you so much!
What a brilliant idea, I hope you’ll show us what you do with it xxx💕

I agree, it’s a difficult worrying age! Lulu does talk to us a lot, I hope she continues! Thank you so much 😊
I'm surely going to try this trick!!!!!
Mine is nearly 3 meters long. I'd better stop and start cutting!
Just in case you didn’t know Tracie has some more new labels! Love labels lol. Once I finish cutting them out I am going to give this a try🤗🤗🤗🤗
I have them, lol. I just need to print them. Thank you so much!
This is a great idea.

Hi Rachel, I m looking for a video with self adhesive label holder on one antik envelope...did i see that on your channel ? Greetings from Germany
Gabriele
Hi I don't think it was on my channel. I'm not sure who did that? Best wishes Rachel
This is a wonderful idea! Can wait to see the tags and other beautiful things that you will do with this project.
Thank you so much!
GREAT IDEAS-LOVE YOUR VIDEOS-TFS-HUGS/BLESSINGS
Thank you so much!
I’m doing a jigsaw puzzle and it’s hard. It’s a map of the world double globe. Yikes hard.
Wow that does sound hard!
Such a great idea. I could watch you do this for hours. Love how it looks and cant wait to see what you create with it.
Thank you so much!
Oh Rachel...this too shall pass. Lulu is 14--it’s her job to be snippetty with her mama. 😂 One day soon (will seem like an eternity to you I’m sure) she’ll transform back to her sweet self and you’ll be the best of friends ❤️.
Yay, that will be great! she's actually not too bad but certainly does have her moments!!! Thank you so much!
Nice Rachel! I’m looking forward to the next video. 😁💜👍🏻
Thank you so much!
What a Great idea, good way to use up scraps! I looking forward to seeing what you do with it! TFS - Hugs, Christal
Thank you so much!
What is on the back side? Did you collage on both sides?
I did i showed that in the next video.

Thank you so much 😊
debbie savage I did the same thing with my daughter.
I would love to see how you use this. I’m guessing tags and other ephemera for journals.
You guessed it 🤩
YOU mak me laugh , i think all mothers go though that ,but when you hear someone else go though it you can see the funny side 😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much!
I don’t understand why these kids bully others. We have even had children as old as 7-8 kill themselves because of bullying. So so sad.
It’s so sad! They start early here too☹️
