It amazes me how organized the whole set up was, if it were my classmates they would either be fighting over who got to drive, refuse to cooperate, or see if it were a logical excuse to leave school.
I finally found this cartoon after searching high and low for it. Had to google key words to find the title of this series. Watched it as a kid but never remembered what it was called. Love the school transformation scene.
Who builds a mech out of an entire school operated by grade schoolers? That’s something the Kids Next Door would built, maybe the Japanese Kids next door.
Try Totally Spies! Although it's more Amazing Spies, but Jerry of Whoop would totally set things up. (Although you have to question his ability to pull his spies from literally any piece of technology... Even their lockers.

this has to be the most impractical way of defeating a monster. by the time they're done with all these things, the monster would have destroyed everything already..
this anime was cool back then, not so much of a wow factor right now(probably growing up and the transformation, fusion time filler things really bored me at this age, with that say i just finished watching this series awhile ago...again :X ) though the lessons were talking about each and every episodes of this show is something that i missed. (just for some of you who want to see the ending, there is 3 more ova with this just for the record)
An episode in the future actually shows and explains that most of these things happen in a matter of a few seconds. The school, the combination, everything.

You know, I had these toys for years and never knew what show they were from when I found them. Now I was looking on the internet and saw toys just like those and when I searched for the opening I tought "It looks like that show where the school was a robot!" and it really was!!! :)
Um, the system's maker (Eldoran) has already taken into account the minimum time that the school can transform with the most minimized damage from the monster of the week. And robot combination sequences actually take a lot shorter and are just lengthened for show.
Hmmm, I haven't watch the first episode of this series when they first activated raijin oh.. Anyway I remember that the base can only operated with people that has the badges anyone who doesn't have will be kick out of the classroom just like their homeroom teacher....:) poor guy....LOL
but, then again, what the heck... an anime is an anime. its just that it makes me wonder, is the monster kind enough to wait for the school to transform, and does the monster have extra patience to wait once more, this time for the raijin-oh robot to combine? oh well, i liked the lion robot though. cool stuff... brought back fond memories. peace..

Classic Super Robot anime before Evangelion deconstructed the genre. Good thing GaoGaiGar and later, Gurren Lagann came around to reconstruct it!
