    I saw this two weeks ago on a visit to London, I absolutely love this painting and to see it, in the flesh so to speak, was a massive treat.

    thank you. I have not had that much access to visit the museums or galleries I like for quite some time. so it is quite a treat to hear the in depth discussion about Rousseau's work (he is one of my favorites). but in addition to get to hear Cherri provide context for his own work, is quite nice!

    Context really is very important in art, I think. Because, in the beginning, I had thought that that was just an ugly tiger, kind of like the squirrel in that medieval portrait that became a meme. Knowing it's modeled after a taxidermied tiger makes all the difference, after that I began to get the painting

    I do appreciate these videos and all the information conveyed, however please take this as a positive critique ~ you need to look at getting a better exposure for the filming. The colours aren’t reproduced accurately and spoil the work.
