    I love this channel. Recognizing this screwdriver from the later videos actually made me tear up as I'm going through all of your content.
    Thank you for making these, they have helped through some really stressful times. ❤

    Seeing that beauty of a wooden handle makes me sad that plastic is so cheap and easy to make. I'd bet that handle makes the screwdriver feel great in your hand and just turn like a dream.

    Were I to find an old tool at a yard sale or flea market I could attempt a restoration to make it look shiny and new. Many of the old tools came to me through my grandfather and I want them just the way they are. The dings and scratches in the metal and the grease and dirt on the wood contain my grandfather's essence and they're beautiful just the way they are.
    You do very nice work.

    If by random chance I'm ever anywhere near you, I want you to be the one to restore all of my Dad's tools. He was my greatest influence as a carpenter, mechanic, and all around "craftsman", and he left me many of his tools upon his death. I think you have a very sentimental value towards everything you do, and that's something to be admired and very much appreciated. If by chance I ever leave this place, I will, and have so far, taken everything he has given me with me ❤️

      Thank you so much for this beautiful comment. Of course, this part has a special meaning for me! But I also find all the other restorations exciting. I always imagine how the people must have looked, they lived, dressed, who used these items. It's always a little trip back in time....

    • @somethingit8107
      @somethingit8107 4 роки тому +1

      @@ForgottenShineRestoration well yes I know you love restorations, but what I'm asking is why did you want to put it on UA-cam, (don't get me wrong I love restorations and builds and i greatly support those who want to put what they do and love on the internet).

    • @ForgottenShineRestoration
      @ForgottenShineRestoration  4 роки тому +2

      I want to show people that it is worth restoring old and broken things and that you don't have to buy new things right away, because I have the feeling that you are throwing everything away too quickly these days. And I like to create the mixture with my hands and then cut on the pc;) i hope the Translation is good...

    • @somethingit8107
      @somethingit8107 4 роки тому +1

      @@ForgottenShineRestoration the translation was very good indeed, and I like your perspective
      that things don't need to be trashed immediately when they break or get old

    • @williamkendall7412
      @williamkendall7412 3 роки тому

      @@ForgottenShineRestoration unfortunately I believe you are quite correct. So many today just throw old things away and buy new ones. And so many times the new ones are sadly lacking in craftsmanship and quality, both in manufacturing and in materials used.

    How to lost real soul of old tool....destroy all nice. This can do anybody. But why they didn't it ? Think about it,man.
    I don't like it. Sorry...!

  • @jardazvuk6946
    @jardazvuk6946 2 роки тому

    I'm crazy about your style of filing rounded metal parts. The forward movement of the file must be in combination of the downward movement of the tool handle. Not the other way around, as you do. My mom can do it better. And she is 73yo. It looks like you make it directly for the video record. Not with love with history. However, the accountant, without taste and respect for old things, quite a good job. You destroy the soul and the magic of the old instrument perfectly.
    (I'm aircraft engineer on military aircrafts Mig21 and "A" grade band sound engineer in old, old, old Prague city. Older then McDonald's...and youtube,etc.)
