    Well, speaking from my experience, I am an audiophile since the 80’s, tube era. I can tell you that using 土炮機, you can have good sound for a reasonable price, but you will miss the real thing in audio! Just give my five cents.

    One more thing, do they still make ultra high quality tubes anymore? If they don’t, forget about using tube amps, I believe no one in the world know how to make them now. We should use up all the ones left from the 60’s and 70’s by now, good luck finding them today. We had trouble finding them in the 80’s, now in 2020?

      Like every thing else, technology will go forward whether you like it or not, for example, in the case of digital vs analog, or CD vs LPs, are we not using digital now? So it’s time to leave the valve tube behind and embrace solid state. I am just using my IPhone to play music through Bluetooth speaker, sad! One of this days I probably will set up my VPI turntable with tube headamp and MC cartridge again to play my RCA (Shaded dogs) classical LPs collections from the 70’s for fun.

      valve tubes tend to be more problematic than solid state. They tend to get noisy and microscopic over time and need to be replaced . Then when you change tubes , they need re-biasing ( depending the amp) which is troublesome. Tube sound also tend to lose out in speed , rhythm, timing as compared to solid state

    • @shikpolam8968
      @shikpolam8968 3 роки тому +1

      @@davidong9458 Yes it is true of what you said, tubes have lots of considerations before ones should invest in them. Rebiasing tubes after replacement is real, however, regarding the speed I don’t totally agreed with you. It’s true tubes may sound a bit slow at a time comparing to solid state, but if ones match the whole system correctly, they will sound right. The mellow sound from a good tube set up is unmatchable, but it requires experience and lots of money to do it right, therefore in my humble opinion is stay with solid state to save yourself all the trouble. But deep inside of me, I will always be a tube guy!

      @@shikpolam8968 Though VT is probematic compared to the BJT or FET, it works better at high frequency range( those up to 50MHz or above). But then that range probably is not what we can hear in the audio range and it is more likely to be the AM or FM stuff. So, I just cannot understand why some ppl still think VT performs better than the BJT or FET does, like they would say the " warmth" and " sweetness".

    • @diulee6138
      @diulee6138 3 роки тому

      @@shikpolam8968 Personally, I prefer using op amp in the headphone amp stage in terms of convenience .

    • @shikpolam8968
      @shikpolam8968 3 роки тому

      @@diulee6138 I am guessing when you said headphone amp you must mean headamp, then my reply will be it is true by using op amp is a lot easier. However, it will come back to the same argument between tube vs solid state. All I can say is when using tube, you will get the sweetness, warmth, or shall I say “human” like sonic experience which solid state lacks. It is indescribable, I really did spend many hours back in the 80’s comparing between the two, using so many different very expensive tube and solid state systems, because we had a club for audiophiles at that time in a high-end audio store, the owner was a friend and member too. Therefore we had unlimited supplies of the very best systems money can buy. Trust me, any system we tested would need to break in for weeks first, then mixing with various components and even to the point interconnects we would use the best of the best. The result, tube still sounds way better. Like they say if one has to ask how much the whole system will cost then, he probably cannot afford it. Sounds like a myth, perhaps it is, but I would put my life on it.
