I remember hearing Susan’s account when my husband and I visited the Holocaust museum in DC with our then 14 and 12 year old daughters in 2011. I remember it having a profound impact on them. They are now adults and I have sent them the link to this video. I can’t wait for them to see it. Thank you again.
Beautifully told story Susan. Your comment brought me to tears regarding what if the six million survived, how their grandchildren would of contributed to the human race. So very true, such a loss that we will never know. May God bless and keep you and yours. Thank you! ❤
I am so sorry for your loss; it is so sad when people lose their families because of hate. I am so ashamed that so many of my fellow citizens are filled with hate for others & see history starting to repeat itself. Thank you for sharing your story with us!
It is shameful what is going on in America today. This is why we need to fight racism in every way we can. We can all start by voting . Trump and the maga deranged misfits in congress must be voted out of office. I am not a jew, I was born in the US. But I lost relatives in the holacaust. I am of Jewish decent, but I do not practice the Jewish religion. I am a Christian. But, I believe in my heart if trump ever gets back in the white house america will experience it' own holacaust. He is so very much like hitler please think of this before u vote. Thank u.
Thank you Susan for sharing your life during this time. May God Bless you for it. We must respect each other and our differences for we are all people. Peace!
It’s so infuriating that people / neighbors thought it was okay to mistreat others like this. Never, ever forget…..important reminder these days and always.
This needs to be told. This needs to be shared. As a descendent of survivors, I thank you for the retelling of the survivor stories. I am blessed to be able to view these retelling to not just understand the history to help teach others not to repeat the horrid mistakes but also to be able to understand my family, how the Shoah changed our trajectory in our family. How the generational trauma is still alive and thriving not just in me but also my children (28&29 son and daughter) I am so appreciative to all who have told their truths on the record so we all may learn. May God bless and keep you all. And for all who have passed on, their memories have for sure become a blessing in many lives. May their memories continue to bring blessings and joy not just to their families but the millions more who will learn from them in the future. ***edit*** forgot I was supposed to say where I am watching from. I am currently in the hospital just south of Nashville, TN.
Thank you for your testimony, it is of great historical value and stirs consciences. It is appreciated that they edited the video with the option of subtitles in all languages so, deaf and hearing, we can share. All the best.
Thank you for bringing truth and light, through your testimony of your heartfelt Holocaust experience. The world must never forget! The people of the world have a moral obligation to stand up against evil, no matter what country. race or religion.
Thank you so much, my father was born in 1929. He told us many stories about the ww2 from his little boy view in my country The Netherlands. This awareness still exist here, especially during May 4th

Watch "Put the Shovel Down" (Drug & Alcohol/Mental Illness) and "Dr Tracey Marks"(Psychiatrist) for help. Also, "Therapy in a Nutshell", " (Counsellor) Kristina Counselling" (Psychologist) are great too.
I wish u well, but life is worth living to the end. I agree no matter what illnes we may have is nothing compared to what these people went though in the death camps. I hope these testimonies help u realize u can beat ur disease. U can do it. I hope u get well and have a wonderful life.
That photo on the boat towards the end reminded me of the Norman Rockwell painting ‘Road Trip’, the same sweet childish reaction.. What a fabulous, engaging lady, a beautiful, charming story teller. Thank you for sharing your story, I am so glad you managed to reunite with your parents
Thank you for your testimony of Kristallnacht and the Holocaust. It is so important to inform people of these events now that there are so many willing people to call the Holocaust fake.
Such a beautiful soul. Much appreciation for your family’s struggle for life. Much Love to you and bless your family! We will all be together in the afterlife with love and kindness. 💜
Susan and her brother Joseph were among the several Holocaust survivors who were featured in Ken Burns' "The US and the Holocaust", sharing their recollections about their experiences. Fascinating and touching. I'm glad I found more interviews with Susan on YTube. She's beautiful even in her 90's.
What a good memory, very important to pass down the knowledge of what happened. The past must be remembered for a better future. Hopefully make us better human beings!
Thank you! It must be difficult recalling these memories. ‘If’ its said is for children. The child in me is asking ‘ if only ‘all mankind had love and understanding in their hearts
Extraordinary people 😊 those are the only words I have. Always keep our eyes and ears open, speak of and resist injustice. We are all living this one life. We must live in the best way possible
Thank you, Susan, for sharing your story of survival during the Holocaust. It is an inspiration to all of us when we are going through troubles of our own. May God bless you and all the other remaining Holocaust survivors.
Thank you to everyone who shares their stories. (I cannot get the chat thing to work, and no idea why.) God bless each of you. I had some shirt tail relatives (relatives of relatives...) who were in the camps, but they are long gone. They had the tattoos on their arms. I met them, and saw their tattoos.
From Israel. Amazing testimony .Especially her comments on the millions of people Jews , good Christians , and others who could have contributed to this world.
Thank yo for this program. I have ĺistened to a few of this woman. After reading many second ww books, one thing that stand out is these peoples attitudes. DB SouthAfrica
It brought tears in my eyes & pain in my heart whenever i listen & watch the tragic story of the jewish in Germany.. blessed be the people who were saved from the deadly holucust..
I grew up with a friend. in Mississippi. whose grandfather was a policeman in Stuttgart and helped ship Jews to camps. He visited our home, and we spent the day walking through the fileds shooting with a 22 rifle. I was just a boy and never thought about what he had done.
I’m sure he never regretted what he did. Like pretty much all the other Germans, this man had no moral compass. He was only following orders. He had no concept of right or wrong. He slept very well at night without ever thinking he did anything wrong.
I've only listened to 20% of the interview so far but it is riveting. It's terrifying how little by little they excluded and forbade Jews from facets of everyday life until it culminated in kristallnacht. When Susan is talking about the townspeople throwing rocks and one landed on baby Ernst's hand, she said that he was okay but the scariest part is that is he would have died the rock throwers might have paused at the news but it wouldn't have stopped them. They would have justified their cowardly and deadly actions in their own minds because they had been brainwashed to think of the Jews as not human.
We are soo sorry to hear all these horrible experiences from you 😥. We’re glad that our then pesident ( Roxas ) had welcome some jews refugees ( island of mindanaw ) to our country Philippines 🇵🇭
The lady is so pretty and elegant. Reminds me of my grandmother who was also a victim of WWII. My grandmother was part German and olive skin, that's why.
Thank you for these testimonies. I am in France. A descendant of Polish and Russian Jews. My immediate family were already in England in the 1930’s. Everyone else related to us lost their lives. I have no testimonies therefore. But thank all the powers that be for the survival of Susan and all the others I follow online. Never again? Not so sure because of Ukraine. Keep telling the world what happened please.
Irwin, Idaho. I personally knew Hitler's best friend from when he was in the Army in WW1.His name was Oskar Martin, and they were best friends until Hitler's death. Being a kid, I did not write down the wonderful historical stories that Oskar told me. The Oskar's brother lived nearby in Jackson, WY. My mother was the Nanny and housekeeper for the family in Jackson.
Your actions were spot on in the sense of keep it up, keep your mind and look at now! Thank you For sharing your story! You lived in HELL but found JOY!
My mom was from Italy born 1926. The people hid the church bells. They took them down and buried them in the woods, the Nazi couldn't make bullets with the bells. The people hid artwork in jails. Some jews were hiding in the monastery and pretended to be monks.

They both did such a beautiful job in that documentary. Their stories were a clear testimony of how life was for Jewish families during WWII.
God Bless you Susan !
How inappropriate w the cross
The heart with the cross inside looks to be the symbol of the Red Cross organization. They did much to help the Jews during and after the Holocaust.

What sort of person screams racist or religious insults at a child? Or throws rocks at them - or of course at adults too? Sick.
