Great Review! I agree with you about radius, I think it's often a bit of an overlooked metric for skiers. Large radius skis can be very fun on open trails, but straight up they can be frustrating or dangerous during the busy parts of the season when there are lots of other skiers on the trail and you have to wash out or have incomplete turns. Cheers from Idaho!
When I bought a pair of s9 I did not want gs ski or sl ski the recommendation for the rep was to get at the longest length s. 9, 171 not the FIS version. The x skis were out of stock when I was shopping
Great point I prefer short turns I always figure I can arch the turn big if I choose I love trees & moguls/off piste the most and yes you've got to be nimble coming into the bottom
Quick and dirty me just rambling on about stuff I love. Maybe more coming up thats basic. I like to make abit fancy videos sometimes but I also like to keep it simple somtimes.
I love my X9s ski's but indeed they are very challenging! As a fit 26 year-old who went skiing one week a year for 23 years, I overestimated myself a bit if I'm honest. It's extremely fun to ski but I don't feel that I can get everything out of it. I love the challenge though and how it forces me to improve my technique an strength! The ski really pushes me to my limits. The process of taming this ski motivated me to take lessons again, go skiing 3x/year and really focus on breaking through the recreational skill ceiling. So to all confident lifetime skiërs who don't get to ski many weeks each year, expect to get your ass kicked but if you really want to improve, it's worth getting.
Jens is back & 24/25 Ski Seasons begun in N America! Mine starts Nov 8th so looking forward to getting back to Swords and other Drill Bits! I get mocked at times for my under 20 meter turn radius preference, but under 16 is another level. Good to have Jens back Lets Go Snow!
All the three skis have one thing in common. If you have to ask if they're for you, chances are through the roof they aren't. You should at least be in the advanced category, physically strong and looking to advance into the expert category. If that's not you, you'll be beaten up by them and will have a much better time on softer, wider, more recreational skis, that are much more forgiving, especially when conditions are not perfect.
And not to take anything away from them, they're great skis, but they are more of a specific tool for a specific job, not the daily driver kind of ski for like 95% of people. Taking them out on firm,, sunny, cold January Wednesday when there few people sounds like a treat I'd be in for 😄
The Redsters FIS SL are FABULOUS ski! And I completely disagree you HAVE to make only short turns. They are fantastic in medium turns as well and are rock solid at speed. Not a speed ski of course but for piste skiing they are phenomenal.
I was a ski racer for a few years. I use the G9. Now I don't train anymore, I took them away for a holiday and by the end of that trip my legs were jelly. It's hard to underestimate how strong you need to be to drive these FIS skis. Even a few years off strength training means you'll struggle
Hy, I really think you make very useful contents regarding skiing! I have a question and hope you can give advice. So I am an intermediate skier and I want to buy my first ski, the question is which is the better choice, the Atomic X7 or Q7? I usually skiing about 7 or 8 days in a year with my family and use only the grooming piste. I am 186 cm tall and 83 kilograms, with an athletic body
Thanks for the review! I currently ski the s9 fis atomic and they are a bit too much for me on a long day. How would de x9s compare to the head e-race? Can anyone give a recommendation?
please can someone help me with chooseing new freestyle skis im complete beginner on freestyle but i am a good skier on normal skis like i can carve good on high speed and ski blacks but i want to start something new so i want some new expirience for skiing i want to learn ski backwards and small jump tricks like 180 or 360 and boxes/rails ps: can i carve on freestyle skis or not. thank you for answers
You can carve on them. I made a few of reviews on freestyle skis too. Check them out. Try to get something with a somewhat soft-medium flex to have something very different from your piste skis. Makes it easier to ollie, butter and generally play. Enjoy!
I was never that negative to them but I see where come from the same place of hard core freestyle skiing. I promise you piste skis are absolutely rad. You will have to hold on for dear life simply ripping up a steep red slope.

So happy to read this comment. Great to hear that someone recognise the challenge and glad you work on you technique again. It never ends.

Thank you for that. All radius skis are great just for different terrains and sometimes ski ability.
@@StompItTutorials You're welcome friend after a 4 hr mtn bike ride in the mtns yesterday I feel so ready to ski!
Going back to skiing after 35 years in a big way. Trip for 6 ski days at Paradiski, La Plagne, France in January with 35 friends.
Sounds amazing. Better start squatting now then :)
fantastic guitar playing
Not yet there, been playing much less since I became a father.
of all the videos, this one is remarkable! started with guitar and ended up with skiis😅😅😅🎉🎉
Yeah Carlos behind the camera peer pressured me into the guitar part. I dont even like playing guitar infront of 1 person.

@@patrion6028It really depends where you live and what you ski mate. FIS SL are my go to ski in 90% of the time. Go figure.

See if you can get Tom to try some park stuff when you ski with him next week.
Sounds like a good idea.

I wonder how revoschock compares to other vibration dampling techs from competitors.

Bro piste skies are crap, everyone should try twin tips. It is so old school....
Unless you encounter steep icy pistes, of which they were plenty last year, where getting an edge on twin tips is near impossible!
Piste skis and letting rip are some of the most fun you can have. Just getting into a steep icy piste and going edge to edge on a GS ski is beautiful
Yah…..delete this…you sound like a tool.
