  • Equal care and representation in research is a universal health issue. Regardless of gender, orientation, race, or ethnicity, Parkinson disease (PD) does not discriminate. However, these facets of a person's lived experience still impact their PD journey.
Celebrate Parkinson's Awareness Month and Minority Health Awareness Month by joining us to discuss disparities in care for those who identify as members of the global majority (people of African, Asian, Latin American, or indigenous descent) and/or the LGBTQ+ community. We will hear from experts including Pinky Agarwal, MD, Hiral Shah, MD, Jose Cabassa, MD and Jason Flatt, PhD who will share challenges, countermeasures, and why this is important to everyone, even if you're not a member of one of these groups.
Special thanks to our partner Kyowa Kirin.

In San Diego I have seen no African Americans at All in my appointment or nurse or therapy or anything. Plus no one discusses women with menopause.....
