Gotham Knights is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by WB Games Montréal and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
The game is set in Gotham City after the deaths of Bruce Wayne / Batman and Police Commissioner James Gordon, which has resulted in a rise of crime and police corruption. Players assume the role of four of Batman's former partners Dick Grayson / Nightwing, Barbara Gordon / Batgirl , Tim Drake / Robin , and Jason Todd / Red Hood as they attempt to continue his legacy by protecting Gotham upon receiving a pre-recorded message from Batman. During the game, the heroes encounter several supervillains, including the Court of Owls, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, Clayface, and Penguin. Supporting characters include Bruce's former butler Alfred Pennyworth and Police Captain Renee Montoya one of the few honest cops left in the city.

As a 30 yr DC fan and a casual gamer for the past 20 years, I'm glad I bought this when it went on sale for $28. Best money I've ever spent on a game. I enjoy it far more than God of War and I spent waaay more money on GoW. I'm addicted to patrolling Gotham. And the story, while not a new one, is fun and engaging. The detective work and puzzles are simple but fun. Great game overall if you just take it as what it is.
I wholeheartedly agree. I don't think this game deserved all the hate, it's just fun to play.
I don't know how you like it more than God of War but to each their own haha I'm gonna get while it's on sale now and see if my opinion changes

Personally i am not interested in playing Cyberpunk 2077 , nor any of the Last of Us Games ( i watched Lets Plays ) , i could not finish The Witcher 3 .. played 40 hours + and called it a day ; i did not enjoy Horizon zero dawn or the Judgment Games ( Lost Judgment was way better in my opinion story and gameplay wise but polar are not my cup of tea although i did enjoy La Noire ! ) i like the Yakuza Games though , i enjoyed Vampyr which is one of my favourite games of all time along with Yakuza 0 and 7 ..
And as far as God Of War it was a good Game, but i did not completed it 100% .. it was a good game , just like Like a Dragon Ishin was a good Game for different reasons .. i played Days Gone even though i am not a Zombie enthusiast but i enjoyed it ..
I guess for many players i would be considered as weird because i am not into Popular Games ( i prefere Rdr over gta games and i prefered Mafia 1 Remake over Mafia 2 and 3 ).

It’s a cool game. Just downloaded it today. Unfortunately without 60fps, it lacks smoothness. But it is far from better than GOW lets please be honest

Batgirl is definitely my favorite for combat. Her kicks look so painful 😂 I would use red hood more if he didn’t look so funny on the motorcycle.
Roaming in Gotham with any of our favorite characters is pure fun. Great video.
If you’ve never seen a city without any cars and pedestrians, well Gotham Nights is for you.

Yeah not gonna lie, I find myself reducing the NPC/Vehicle density on PC because the city feels OVERPOPULATED for gameplay. They made it pretty much exactly as lively as Gotham would be at night if you’re on settings above medium.

I think what I love most about this game is the city. It's still not quite perfect, but it genuinely feels like Gotham City in a way that none of the Arkham games ever got close to. Perfect balance bet ween early 20th century American art deco, European gothic architecture, a healthy dash of cyberpunk dystopia, dark and grimy but also colorful and comic booky, all while feeling grounded enough to be a real place and not a complete abstraction.
All of the Arkham Games, besides Origins, were either not set in the city or parts of the city that were in complete chaos. Getting to run around and patrol an authentic feeling Gotham City, that feels alive and thriving, is a feeling I've wanted in a Batman game since Asylum came out. The only other games that have gotten anything close to that feeling are Origins and Batman & Robin on PS1.

It doesn’t really feel like gotham. It’s too new. Gotham is meant to be an Art Deco/gothic style city. This just looks like any old city.

I’ve played all 4 characters and gotta say Nightwing is the slowest like for him to use 2 batons and kicks you’d think he would be hitting 20 hit combos, like even batgirl who is a single target bruiser is a bit faster.
Yeah I’m getting that from watching this too. I recently replayed some of the challenge maps on Arkham City as Nightwing and he’s so fast! In this he just feels sluggish and slow; nothing like the super fast gymnastic acrobat he’s supposed to be.

It’s dumb that it’s an ability but Nightwing has an ability that makes his attacks faster 2x damage and he runs around like a discount flash

Its the city for me, I love it and I hate it. Its not tall, but theres that tiny amount of gotham architecture in it... and that tiny amount of Gotham architecture and lighting goes a long way. If only they had the brain power to continue it and make tall skyscrapers like every other game that has no problem doing that (to be honest I can only think of 3 other games that have tall buildings, however still more than zero)

Right. Gotham has the density of Chicago and New York but these games never create that skyscraper density. I'm waiting for a game to do the true 3 island gotham with Robison park in the middle and skyscraper jungle gotham city
The fights look very grindy. I don't think it should take five minutes to beat a single henchman.

They really treated nightwing like he was in Fortnite with that cringeworthy glider, he had a wing suit in the comics. I can’t believe they just add that crap into the game

No matter how skilled you are and how tactical you want to aproach enemies like in arkham series.. the game will just make it boring and pathetic because every enemy has stupidly high number of healthpoints and that dodge mechanic is unforgivably bad...

Once you complete the main story, enemies go down in 5 or even lesser hits.

@@CyrussNP Talons are weak to some elemental damage, (forgot which 1) just use that and you’ll kill Talons in 3 hits
The fact this game doesn’t have a 60fps option is insane when you play it on ps5 the frame drop is heavy and hurts your eyes
I genuinely love this game. I understand that it’s not perfect, but I think everyone hating on it so severely is going too far. The combats super fun and I genuinely don’t get the complaints about it looking bad. I hope people manage to see past their gripes because I would love to see what could be done with a sequel, given all the critiques the studio could work off of.

Yeah I will say this is probably the best looking Gotham we got. From what I saw it looked really dense unlike most of Arkham Knight's map.

Yeah, traversal is very bad. Jump is automatic while holding sprint, bike is slow with no boost, and zip point is a guess.
And nightingale glider is basically like a parachute.

The combat sucks compard to the arkham games. But it still looks fun. Free roam map looks way bigger than any arkham map.

I decided to get this recently on ps5 and didnt compare it to arkham series, this game is fun af i love the feel of Gotham period tho fasho too bad we will never get another thorough gotham game
NGL the fight system looks a little shitty compared to its previous games...... Previous games looked way more fluid with motion and connections with hits etc.

You hold R2 or whatever it is you use to glide.
@@wavy0ski It turns out everything is very simple. I have a habit of holding the W key, because of this, when I tried to use the Nightwing glider, I constantly flew down. now understood. I'm an idiot... xD

Can I ask why? Genuine question. I keep seeing these sorts of party/block comments and I don’t get it. Having an instant “get out of jail free button” that is highly telegraphed with a blue marker to when you should party doesn’t make combat that much more engaging for me. I agree they could have increased the speed and flow of combat but I much preferred Spider-Man’s free flowing form of combat that still relied on dodging rather than standing still and mashing parry
@@aaronyrizarry-medina1067 because it made combat flow better, thus it being called free flow. Instead now you have a highly telegraphed attack you have to dodge out of the way of (which doesn’t even work 100% of the time) instead which breaks up the flow of combat and makes it feel and look clunky. So basically you’re doing kind of the same thing but with an extra step now, it’s not intuitive at all.
Can’t blame people for preferring the Arkham series combat, because it is better in every way to most peoples opinion.
@@aaronyrizarry-medina1067 If you stood still and countered in batman arkham that’s your own fault. If you like spider-mans combat by default you should probably like batmans. It’s just that you play spidermans correctly and you don’t play batmans correctly

I can see why they hardly included any gameplay footage in the trailers. on the store pages. seems like a Gotham series game that just isn't designed as robust as they were. maybe ill pick it up at 90% discount, but 75$ is waay to expensive for this. looks cool and kind of fun, but janky. and with no batman there's not that much point lol

@@CyrussNP Not a lot of grinding if you focus on one character's Knighthood challenges, I got Batgirl's cape glide in like 6 hours of total gameplay
I got knightwing, robin and redhood’s in like 2 days and I worked and hit the gym during one of the days it’s not that bad
I got it in 1 hour just do 20 pre meditated crimes beat thugs to get clues get 5 clues on night then you'll get another 5 for the next and in 2 nights your done. If your fast you can do it in 20 minutes.

So sad. A concept for a game we've been waiting years for. And we get wooden dialog, a predictable story, clunky combat, glitches, and step back graphic that are reminiscent of 2014 Xbox One.
I was looking at this thing and I was like something feels......Off about what I'm seeing I couldn't put my finger on it....maybe its the way the guy is playing it maybe he's terrible at the game because the fighting is CLUNKY and I'm sorry did I hear that right 30fps? What is this Xbox 360 era actually no Xbox original era? I'm going to do what I did with cyberbonk and wait for it to be cheaper

If you are looking for the next Arkham game, definitely wait for a sale. If you want a superhero rpg with some characters that you will recognize, go for it! There's a good amount of people enjoying the game, myself included.

The combat IS rushed and not that good. It lack something..Indeed i know they wouldnt reused the freeflow combat again for this New game but they could have at least build a better combat mechanics as much addictive as the freeflow one.
The game IS extremely répétitive and have a lot of grinding : again being a light rpg dont help and remind of most AAA boring game.
Lacks of vilains for a Open World "Batman"game .

I'm enjoying it alot, put in about 11 hours so far. Playing Co-op definitely helps keep it interesting and fun but even in solo play I've been having a blast.

Game looks nice BUT something is not rigth with animations. I feel that they lack this organic feeling that Arkahm series have.
The thing is with the city it’s designed really well and made to feel how dark and gritty Gotham is but it doesn’t feel like it’s meant to be Gotham

Rocksteady should handle Arkham Games . WB Montreal failed to deliver in Arkham Origins as well . They should stop at this point 🤦🤦🤦
