Whats funny . Buddies and I was Building Junk Buckets back in the 70s thats what we called RatcRods . We ran Big Block Fords . Dodge Red Rams and golden Lions , 426 when we could find them . Posi stang rears were a dime a dozen .. 4 speed trannys beefed 272 torqueflite's trannys . We were having a blast . People then turned their noses up .. drank a ton of Beer , got in fights with the jocks when they lost their pinks . We Loved it .. the Mouse trap was a green Gremlin with a 350 pumped to 450 hp cut down rear end 466 posi and a 2 speed slush Box .. sweet ride . Fast as hell .
remember that was a bit young been around cars since I can remember dad was a back yard mechanic and had a service station, built my first engine in 73 was 13 ,paid 5 bucks for it, he over seen me of course was hooked every since went to the army as a field mechanic then to first echelon rebuild engine and parts, got out stated driving truck all ways had something home tinkering on it now 62 semi retired retired from the semis working on my 55 truck 54 Belair 63 impala and my brothers s10 who passed and left it to me, because most of the parts were from my salvage yard he built dragsters for a hobby ,I was doing traditional rods back in the 80s and 90s in Texas and they where ever were cheap people said when you going paint that thing, ain't, so I love the rat rod stuff and drive my junk. latest and probably the last is 37 chevy truck getting harder than it used to be with no help except for the wife when she can should have never drove truck for all them years, would be in a different position. went quick love the video
