My dad took me to see the Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl in 64. I sent this song to him by the Beatles not long before he left this plain. I love him so. He is my best friend. Bette did it justice. It has so much meaning for me in my life.

Yesterday, Dec. 1st, was Bette's birthday, and I've been listening to her for 24+ hours now...Happy Birthday, my dear Bette, and thank you, for your voice, your music and your talent. You've been on the top of my list for 44 years now!
Wow, you've been listening to her since the 1970s!! I, only knew her songs when I was 14 years old, the year was 1990. I was touched by her song "Wind Beneath My Wings" and become fans after that (In the beginning I bought her cassette when I'm still in my Junior High School). I bought most of her CDs when I started working many years ago. To me, Bette Midler's 1990's "Some People's Lives" is my personal favorite of her and very dear to me! And this song is one of the great songs she ever records, coming straight from the Soundtrack "For The Boys" (1991). Long lives Bette and all the fans!!
Not only does it pull on my heart strings, it pulls tears from my eyes. You never stop thinking, even dreaming, of the one you love. You may recover from a heart attack, but you never recover from the broken heart from the loss of one you loved.

I love Bette Midlers version. I remember in elementary school in the 4th grade, watching 5th graders sign language this song.
This song will be played at my memorial service with pictures of my life. So thankful and grateful for the people and all the places (especially Hawaii) that have been been apart of my life. I am who I am because of each of them and in my life I loved you more💗

Because of The Beatles and Bette Midler's In My Life i realized how beautiful life is?! And how every people has a meaning in my life whether they where already in heaven or still with us.
I'm a Beatles fanatic and have loved this song since I first heard it and it's still one of my favourite Beatles recordings.. But Bette's version is just amazing.. Completely agree with you, although I don't really like the instrumentation. The way she sings it wins me over.
