    I’m having grade school flashbacks. These cars were EVERYWHERE. Who didn’t know somebody who had a Chevy Impala?

    You keep coming up with some great topics and videos. I like how you covered the world and did not limit it to just the United States. I enjoyed the footage and information. Again your extensive efforts are appreciated. Thank you.

    As a longtime career mechanic, in about 1989 bought a 65 Galaxie, 390, AT, PS, PB two-door, came in on trade-in...It was straight, started & drove fine, baby-blue, some primer here & there...the interior was trashed, door panels OK, but needed all upholstery , paid one-hundred-fifty for it...lotsa room inside. "Sold" it to my sister who gave it to her daughter.

    It's always a treat seeing your newest video pop up in my feed. In my view, 1965 was the pinnacle of American car design. The GM's in particular - especially Pontiac - are stunning. One request, however: I wish I could get you to pronounce Lancia as "Lahncha," the way the Italians intended!

    My favorite car over the years was a 1965 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special Brougham, what a dream!

    6:03 our family had this same identical 65' 98, same color with the same vinyl top 4 door. Inside was like a limosine, and drove like riding on a cloud.

    Imperial did it right. If you want to spend over 6k on a "luxury" car, with Imperial you got real African walnut on the dash and door inserts, not cheap stick on appliqué with Cadillacs and Lincolns. Between the three, the Imperials were supposed to be the quietest.

    You had some real serious he-man's types of cars back in the day...as opposed to the "girliemobiles" of the present!!

    Not going to get much past 130mph with the 3 speed transmissions during this era.

    in 66, my dad purchased a Chevy Caprice. I recall numerous road trips in the back seat of that beautiful beast. In the late 80s, my mom gave that car to my brother which he used to drive to high school. The beautiful mint green baby finally met her fate in about 1990 when a careless drive crashed in to my brother. He cried when the car was demolished. RIP green giant.

    When I was discharged from the service in 1970, I bought a new 1970 Chevy BelAir sedan with 350 v8 and Powerglide transmission.

    Great rundown of these vehicles. My parents had a '65 Chevrolet Impala sedan and a '65 Ford Galaxie 500 sedan, both really nice cars.

    excellent video, I'm trying to compile a list of all the cars since 1964, but only the top of the range in each body styles for every model for every year. Its my dream to win a $$billion dollars and open a museum one day.....one day lol. Your videos are an inspiration!

    Big blocks were all the rage. Actually there were
    some great small blocks,yet all these are
    to(!)heavy.

    • @thehopelesscarguy
      @thehopelesscarguy  10 місяців тому +1

      A lot of that weight was the big block. The cars were actually not that heavy for their size. Partly thanks to manual seats and windows.
