I think you tend to go in with too intense of a negative bias against new weapons and artifacts. The amount of times you've tried something you think will be terrible only for it to be fine or amazing has been numerous LOL. The breach cutter this run wasn't too amazing, but that wasn't any fault of its own, it was just bad luck. 1. Almost every single upgrade rolled for it ended up being reload speed, any weapon would have suffered from that. And even still, it did over twice the damage of the thunderhead. 2. You didn't like how the beams got caught in chokepoints, but that's the BEST way to use it, because it can hit the same enemy a ton and kill it really fast, like it did at 20:31 and 21:24.
Interestin feature would be to opt out of picking more weapons. And maybe for picking starting weapon, then would be possible to do 1 gun challenge runs.
I ran Trinker Engineer and managed to get both Breach Cutter and Shard Diffractor to 21 and they still suck. They do a lot of damage if you dig a tunnel and just the beams bounce off the wall, but it is still not enough to kill those stage 5 bosses even with 10 beams shooting at it.
That's not quite how it works. You can see at the bottom, we only did 20 million damage. If we add the plasma to the breach cutter damage and shard it gets closer to 30 million. Some of the damage is already included into the weapon. Hard to explain really.
Another great video, keep that Dwarven miner mining . I've found myself only using the shotgun engineer. Something about those 3 weapon lvls gets me. Once boosted and plasma over-clocked it's my favorite class so far.

They’re not boss killers, but I wouldn’t say they suck.
You have to count in plasma damage too.

In the original DRG the Breach Cutter was a strong weapon.
I think this gun has potential, it looked like ur missing the fire rate. if this weapon would fire way faster it could be supreme weapon
Its a one shot, weapon but it fires off cd which is why he was only getting damage and reload speed upgrades
