It's coming along great. Thanks for taking us with you.
Thank you for coming along
That is going to be a great place to hang out on those cold winter days. Great setup. Love the antique tools.
Thanks Dan!
Hi Tim, with the lanterns burning it really looks like a barn 100 year's ago. GREAT WORK 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Doug
Love the lanterns, a a great functional and yet traditional artisan touch!
Thanks!
It's nice seeing it all slowly come together. 9° degrees here in the Rockies last night. Wind has a bite to her.

Yep 3° here last night. Brrrr
Barn looks amazing, looking forward to your upcoming vlogs as always 🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🏴
Thank you Jamie!
Hey Tim, I'm ready to move into your shop! It's awesome! It's been a pleasure to follow your build and other things on your channel. Thanks!
Thanks Robert!
UNCLEDOUG HERE LIKE THE LITTLE WOOD STOVE !!
Ual!! I was working here in my office, and opened this video, Ual Guy!!! beggining just with it cool song.... this just calm me, today was much nervous, ohhh Man thanks for share and improve my day here in Brazil!!!
Thank you Silvio!
You must get a feeling of pride when looking at the fine framing. You did a terrific job of it.
Thank you Carol
Love the stove Tim great idea and I really admire the blacksmith tools I have my grandfather's anvil. Brings back good memories keep up the good work and thank
Thanks Mike. Cherish your grandfathers anvil, and don't sell it!
Hey Tim, sure is looking good around there. Have you ever seen the big buck that hides in that canyon? 😉 I hunted a canyon like that in Colorado and never seen him except the last day of the season and my last hunt on the eastern side. Just at last legal light I walked over to the edge and looked over and scared the deer as well as myself. He waved by and I walked out empty handed. The tools and your set up is going to be great. Thanks for sharing with us.
Ha Ha we all have had those days. By the way, there is one in there.....
Another great video and its greatly appreciated. Once you get your forge up and going I'd love to buy a knife that's made from a craftsman such as yourself.. here just south of moline Illinois we got a dusting of snow last night and are going to be getting several inches in the next few days and I work for a asphalt company and we've got alot of work to get done before we get laid off for the winter
Thank you Ben. Been to Sparta for the trapshooting world championships. Nice area, but brutal in August!
@@GreatPlainsCraftsman August is brutal here with the humidity. Small town I live in has one of the oldest rodeos in the midwest during the month of Aug
I have a jotul cast iron wood stove of similar size in my 1880's log cabin, they really throw off the heat and burn very clean.
Good to know! Thank you. I've heard these burn much the same.
Maybe take and acquire a I been so that you can I have a traveling chain hoist to move things from front to back of your barn , instead of one being stationary in one place
Good Idea
Fire up that wood stove. Tarrifs rock! 🇺🇸
It's time for sure. Thanks!
@@GreatPlainsCraftsman knock em dead brother. Enjoy your new blacksmithing shop. And don't set yourself on fire again 😀
All looking good!
How do you plan to exhaust the forge fumes?
Side draft hood and stack Dave. Out the sidewall alongside the wood stove chimney
So you have power then? Sorry I thought you hadn't ..... stupid of me as you have plans for a power hammer ;0)
@@totherarf I will have power, but the side draft is just natural draft, no power needed.
That was what confused me ..... I didn't think a forge would give off the right volume/heat of fumes to allow a draught to operate!
Looks real windy. Do you have any hold downs?
Yes Carol it is ratchet strapped down with steel stakes. Crossing fingers.
sorry if redundant I didn't read any comments yet but it's time.
get that fire extinguisher installed quick. not sure if you have a water line run to the barn yet but it's time for this as well. we get excited and well.. social media has its ways of prioritizing our lives for the worst.
best wishes.
I really love seeing the tractor pulling in there. what a nice fit. I too am excited for the wood stove and blacksmithing. be safe. see ya next time.
Will do. Thank you!
Great Plains Craftsman your very welcome Tim and thank you for sharing all this wonderful content. you might have to have a barn christening party on here. that thing really is coming out nicely. i really enjoy all the the videos. makes me want to move out to the country and start living 👍🏼
check out Fiery Furnace Forge Blacksmith LLC Dave Custer makes some nice fire pots I just picked up one from him at Quad State this year i think for a great price.
I will check that out for sure, thank you
Tim are you a FF or retired FF?
Yes, still working. Couple years to go. It shows huh
Great Plains Craftsman to another one yes, patient, calm the stash and I thought I saw a Maltese cross peaking out...
@@slamsshenanigans2296 Yes you did. The stash always gives it away. Thanks brother
Thanks for the update....I think you're a pretty cool man....you remind me of my old foreman from the Carpenters Union.... thanks again.........JJ...
Ha well thanks! Hope you liked him!
@@GreatPlainsCraftsman yes ....very good man.......JJ...
I have the exact same blower for my coal forge. Nice hoist!! I haven't done too much with the shop lately, ran into a serious problem. My septic tank collapsed. We had to bring in a porta potty until our new tank arrives. I live in the middle or nowhere so it's taking awhile. It's been cold here in Eastern Oregon as well. Down to 14 degrees, which is cold for October. Already using heaters in the water troughs for the horses. It's not fun using a porta potty in 14 degree weather, LOL..... Perhaps I'll do a video tomorrow.......
Oh no! That's a bummer. My well froze last year and fried the pump. Dead headed it. Look forward to video!
I can't seem to find you on Facebook.
It's all coming together nicely.
You've got some beautiful country there. Not too thick with trees and other bush.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll all make as a blacksmith.
Take care, cheers
Thanks! Facebook @greatplainscraftsman
HI MR. TIM. THAT NEW WOOD BURNER LOOKS A LITTLE DARLING, EVERYTHING IS LOOKING QUALITY, LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT VID ALREADY, MICK FROM UK.
Thank you Mick!
I just love your barn and you did a beautiful job for sure. Can't wait to see that fireplace set up sooner than later in cold weather. LOL God bless.
Thank you Sandra!
I really like that little old wood burner.............JJ...
Great progress and love the anvil and the blower💚💜👍🏻
Thanks friend!
I enjoy your channel Jim
Thank you!
Looking real good in there. I like the older tools there's just something about them. Good job
Thanks William!
