The time of travel to Barbil and Saranda was during Holi 2021, just before the Covid second wave started to peak. The travel was with all precautions following Covid protocols.
We do not encourage or discourage travel during the Covid situation. All you have to follow Govt regulations and safety measures.
Saranda forest is spread across 820 sq. km in the parts of West Singbhum district of Jharkhand and Keonjhar district of Odisha. We traveled to Barbil by Howrah-Barbil Janashatabdi Exp, departing Howrah at 6-20 in the morning. Centering Barbil we visited various parts of Saranda, including Kiriburu-Meghatuburu, Jhikra Falls, Jateshwar.
We stayed at Adhar Hotel at Barbil.

2 night 3 days or 3 night 4 days Saranda Packages are conducted from the hotel, which includes lodging, fooding, transportation and sight seeing.

🔴However, one of the best accommodations of Saranda is the Meghalaya Guest House of SAIL at Meghatuburu, which is just located below the view point.
🔴Also few homstays have come up at Meghatuburu.

হোটেল এ থেকে টুর প্যাকেজ না নিয়ে কী নিজের মারুতি অল্টো নিয়ে ঘোরা যায়?
অল্টো নিয়ে জঙ্গলে ঘোরা সমস্যার হতে পারে। Ground clearance বেশি থাকতে হবে। বারবিল থেকে জঙ্গল ঘোরার জন্য বোলেরো বা সুমো ধরণের গাড়ি নেওয়া যায়।

I didn't understand you query exactly.. Howrah and Sealdah both are in Kolkata. The train to Barabil or other gateways to Saranda only runs from Howrah.
