This man is a damned comedy scientist. Reminds me of other great one-liner comics of this generation such as Kevin Nealon, Mitch Hedberg and Steven Wright. He deserves more credit. And money. And so do I, for that matter.
I think you either get Dimitri's humor or you don't. Too bad there were so many in the audience who didn't. Was this his best set? No. But even with that, he's better than most comedians. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Watched this one and his Ellen set he did a couple weeks ago. Definitely some good ones, the bungee jumping killed me, but I think he does a lot better with his prop comedy. Seems like he's trying to come back and just hasn't hit his stride yet.
so was Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire also the The Jeff Dunham Show was a thing Comedy Central has a history of taking great stand up acts and putting them in a weekly format to crash and burn.
Interesting to watch him feeling out the crowd. Presumably on his upcomming tour he'll be getting ready for his next special. It was too long between his first and second. Glad to see him getting right back out there after his last one.
i met this guy a few years ago in Texas, he is actually mellow and very laid back. way cooler than most celebs, good to see he is still "foolin them" after all these years
One of the best comedians in history! I have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard 😂 😂 Crowd warmed up at the end, but i feel like maybe they didn't get some of his jokes. The one took me about 10 seconds and i started canning myself about the last joke when he was already in the next one But that's what i love about him. The joke always clicks a second or two after the punchline, rather than at the exact moment. I wonder if he has a new show out since i last saw him a few years ago. I love the ones where he draws, they fuckin kill me This guy is a legend! Up there with Mitch Hedfield as one of my top 5 fav comics.
Martin broke my funny bone with the shoe size-fraction bit and taking it to 100 with the 75% of German shepherds are dogs bit because he never gave up on the joke because fractions. Feet get specific because fractions and a lack of life specificity yields better horoscopes.
He's either vastly overestimating our national German wool production or underestimating the number of dogs. Probably didn't factor in all the Alsatians.
Give this man his own show again!!! DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!DO IT!
This guy's been around for 20 yrs and doesn't look a day older than yesterday. If Steve Martin and Demetri Martin had a baby boy, he'd be called Martin.
@Ellis Dee wow, thats a bit harsh lol Hart may not make you laugh since comedy is subjective, but his techniques are great. I mean, just look up videos of other comedians praising him.
i feel like he was doing well in the beginning, but after he stumbled on the word religiously he seemed to "get into his head" as some comics would say which fucked with the vibe of the performance. Let me know im crazy but thats how i felt when i saw it.
Yeah the audience sucks. They’re fans of Stephen Colbert’s pathetic, over political, brain melting jokes. There’s no way they are going to get jokes that require a brain to keep up. Could you imagine them at a Bo Burnham routine? I can.....it would be dead silent. Until Bo throws them a crude sexual reference bone at which point they all laugh... because culture
I used to love his stand up, back when comedy Central actually showed stand up specials, I feel bad for comedians when they do late night shows tough to get the crowd behind you, when they do thirsty sets at clubs ppl who get the sense of humor are the ones paying to see him and know and like his style
The more I watch the Stephen Colbert show the more I love it. The band is amazing, the theme tune is the best, the guests are likable - this one is brilliant, and Stephen is a genius and I love him.
No way. A Martin would not tolerate that incessant, repetitious, bridge-less, picking. All the strings would break and it would burst into flames in protest. Good comic though. He just needs to quit bringing that irritating guitar on stage with him, or play a song instead of that nightmare background noise.
its like people dont have the attention span for really clever dry humor anymore..which i know is weird to say cause his jokes are short but they're usually really subtly layered and you can tell his thought process was complex, you have to pay attention and sometimes the full joke even takes a second to hit you. its like people need a loud noise or an overdone impression every 5 seconds to stay entertained..makes sense with colberts audience though. nothing wrong with that kind of humor but i wish there was more of demetri and the like in the mainstream
Demetri Martin never gets old lol AND he doesn't age either.
Jay Teranova isn't that the same thing?
@@gauthamsuresh3226 No.

"75% of all German Shepherds are dogs."
Ja. Das Stimmt.
Demetri Martin the Ageless comic. And a damn good one at that! 👍🏻😁
hard to believe he is either 21 or 49 in this clip
USED TO WATCH HIM WHEN I WAS LIKE 12 AND HE STILL LOOKS THE SAME
me too. Comedy Central 2002. He looks the same.
Lol!! Right?!
Was thinking the same thing.

Season 2 was a bit weak, season 1 was way better.
This man is absolutely brilliant. His Stand Up Comedian album is golden.
Really funny. Reminds me a bit of the late great Mitch Hedberg
yeah! similiar styles, deadpan, surreal and absurd even

Secret love child of Ray Romano and Howard Wolowitz with the humor of Mitch Hedburg.
I'm totally using the Sports bar joke from now on.
This guy is hilarious without even trying.
Yah. He's a joke.
Demetria is one of my favorite comedians. I have a lot of favorites though!!
Ice Bear approves this 👍🏼

I missed Demetri Martin. ❤️ Also, it's amazing to see two (hilarious) Greek guests on the show -- and back-to-back! 🇬🇷
This guy's been around for 20 yrs and doesn't look a day older than yesterday. If Steve Martin and Demetri Martin had a baby boy, he'd be called Martin.
Mike kirock he’d be a guitar....
I could listen to his jokes all day and never get tired of them.
Demetri's great. Heard he's coming to Dublin. so excited :D
The German Shepherd joke really got me XD
OOOOH I’VE MISSED HIM
He is great!
Wow this audience is stale. I hate to see good comics bomb
he semi-bombed on ellen too (*now the guitar prop helps; like a stringed instrument version of the rim-shot
He keeps bombing on national television...
Maybe it means that he um sucks? Funny how it's always a bad audience and never that he sucks hahaha
@Ellis Dee wow, thats a bit harsh lol Hart may not make you laugh since comedy is subjective, but his techniques are great. I mean, just look up videos of other comedians praising him.
Nothing he said was funny!
Only the sports bar joke made me even chuckle. The rest were just stupid!

His Funny or Die show "our fascinating planet" is just too good lol
I actually tremendously watching that like 6 years ago. Worth the re-release though. Very funny
Love that show. Intelligent humor is a rare thing these days
I recently found it and asked myself out loud " how have I not seen this". It's so good.
Willskull He freaking owns as Ice Bear on We Bare Bears!
Absolute Gold
The Best Ice Bear ever!!!
I clicked like before the video even started haha. I love his comedy. Reminds me a bit of Mitch too.
L-shaped sofa...lowercase.
I was busting up so hard at that and Colbert’s audience was like, duuuhhhhh
I love this guy !
I loved that music he was playing and the jokes too. Think the audience kinda sucked... those damn bottom audience people :p
The German Shepherds one got me a little too much, haha
Ice bear! ♥️❄️
He's great, the audience sucks!
Yeah, you probably got encephalitis. That sucks (for you).
You got that confused with "He sucks, the audience just doesn't think he's great."

Ice Bear!!! Ice Bear's gonna tell jokes. Ha ha.
Man I used to watch his show back in like 2010 lol...shit was hilarious.
I've never seen him smile at his own joke before
Sportsbars! Nailed it!
I LOVE DEMETRI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would so buy that Benjamin Franklin book
Most intelligent stand up comedian ever! Love you Demetri!
I fucking love this guy
Really Reminds me of Mitch Hedburg RIP

Whaaaaaaaaat!?! Demitri Martin and Jason Mantzoukas in one show? Dunno if my brain can handle this much funny! ;-) (awesome though, so thanks Steven!)
Bungee jumping omg.
The guitar is a nice touch
DEMETRIIIIII WE LOOOOOOVE YOUUUU
The German Shepard bit took me too long.. I'm slippin'.
New Message I see your on a late night show binge. Welcome.
It's all those new messages lol
New Message Ice Bear has that effect on people 😅❄️
(One update later: still no polar bear emoji...)
Loved the comedy, as usual. The guitar was a bit distracting, though.
good way to work in some nice one liners
Funny, reminds me very much of Mitch Hedberg.
WHOO, BEN FRANKLIN!
WHOO, FRACTIONS!
Ice Bear!
this crowd are the type of people i don't wanna be around
When I read the description, I thought it said "Wandering Mud". Only realized my mistake at the end of the video, when Stephen said the correct word.
Definitely influenced by Mitch. Solid set.
Demetri is a good boy. His Yiaya makes him Souvlaki with Tzatziki sauce. He tells jokes.
Ice Bear is the best.
Where have you been!!?
Wow he's hilarious! First timer here
Lmao that was great.
*demetri is funny as hell lmao*
When was last when you saw bangs?
The more I watch the Stephen Colbert show the more I love it. The band is amazing, the theme tune is the best, the guests are likable - this one is brilliant, and Stephen is a genius and I love him.
ICE BEAR!!!!
my god this man is a legend
He reminds me of British comedian Milton Jones
Wow, He's playing a Voyage Air "foldable" guitar. I think it's a VM-02. You'd think he'd play a Martin.
No way. A Martin would not tolerate that incessant, repetitious, bridge-less, picking. All the strings would break and it would burst into flames in protest.
Good comic though. He just needs to quit bringing that irritating guitar on stage with him, or play a song instead of that nightmare background noise.
this guy is hilarious
I miss his show: Important Things
Demetri is Tom Cruise if you took away his ego and replaced it with a brain. He rules.
God I love Demetri Martin.

Demetri Martin!!
Folks ain’t ready for this
This guy's comedy is actually really smart which is so hilarious. Most of them just flew over ppls head, it's quite sad.
It's just a rerun of his Netflix special
I’m in ❤️
not a former daily show "correspondent" (*a former "contributer" - & why wasn't demetri martin @ jon stewart's finale show??
Why does this remind me of Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy?
Rel I miss those. Clever and observational.
Wow, time warp!
Kinda funny. A few good chuckles. Sports bar joke at 2:45 though might be a case of "too soon" given recent Borderline tragedy.
Just discovered him..saw his movie.... Dan on Showtime. Funny sweet kinda sad 😔
HE DOESN'T AGE... His freaking comedy central show from 2010 was made when he was in his early 40s... dude looks legit the exact same I don't get it
Best book ever.
