I appreciate your list of tests to ask for and will request them at my next visit. I chose to get a CAC test recently even though my blood work was fine. It was a zero which made me happy at age 65. I understand that the test doesn't show soft plaques though. I thought it was the amount of small LDL particles that are the bad actors. The regular lipid panel doesn't check for those. I've been eating ketovore/ carnivore for the last several years, lost 50lbs, lots of energy and many other health improvements. I was a vegetarian for most of my life. I've listened to many lectures by Dr. Paul Mason about statins. He has researched and lectured extensively about this topic. The information was eye opening. My takeaway was that unless you have a serious genetic problem that statins are a bad idea. Almost noone should be taking them. A lot of the data has been manipulated The testing during the original development of the drug was highly suspect.
Thank you for this excellent information I think what stops me from doing these tests is that the result would be having to go on medication and I try to stay away from traditional medication’s as much as possible. I once heard a wellness physician, say that wellness physicians put up a roadblock at the top of the hill, while traditional doctors have an ambulance waiting at the bottom
Hospitals often offer preventative heart screening tests and blood work. Mine revealed a congenital heart defect -- an ASD, which caused my heart to enlarge, although I had no symptoms. This simple, painless screening likely saved me from having a stroke. The best $150 I've spent in my life.
I landed on your video here, less than 20 minutes after a friend told me that his friend of 55 years old had died suddenly of a heart attack. Now that is the universe working in my life. Thank you for this information I will be comparing it to my blood test.

I asked my internist for some of these tests and she told me insurance wouldn't cover them. Why is health insurance so willing to pay for sick care over preventative care?

Just recently did the cardiac calcium test through Methodist hospital and results came back zero. 🎉. It was $140 which I thought was reasonable.
