    This weekend was rough for Dungey at shore. It's been like this for the last three years. I would love to eventually learn how to get out there like this to crab and fish. You're living the dream.

      Where did you go out to? I heard the guys out at Ocean Beach did pretty well!
      Yeah man, even if it takes a used $200 kayak and a $40 trap it’s totally worth it! You might enter the rabbit hole of kayak fishing though 😳 I started off with a very small setup and was pretty successful with it!

      @@HideshiIzu this year I went to OB. I guess it was the spot cause the guy next to me caught limit within the hour while others around him were getting 2 or 3. In the past, I tried avoiding this place as everyone comes here.
      It sounds like that kayak investment is pretty much the same as my rock fishing investment. One will never be satisfied.

    Nice catches! To each their own, but I commend you on releasing the lings to grow even more and setting a good example for other fisherman that we don't always have to keep everything we catch!

      Thanks man! Yeah its kinda an odd thing with sizes because the bigger ones are way older and have more reproductive value, but at the same time you want to let the smaller ones grow...

    • @rainzer0
      @rainzer0 Рік тому

      @@HideshiIzu that's so true. Bigger fish have better traits that's why they survived and got huge.
      Lingcods take about 2-5 years to start reproducing. Which is very quick compared to rockfish which can take 15-20 years with a lifespan of 100yr+.

    nice so your kayak has an electric motor. can't say i don't solo dive. some people's off days don't line up or skill levels. i just try to be careful keep my under water time less then a minute mostly float on top & no solo night dives

    • @HideshiIzu
      @HideshiIzu  Рік тому +1

      Yeah man everyone gauges the risk for themselves. Personally, I don’t think diving is even worth it for me without a buddy. I have reached out to so many divers over the past few years that ever time I want to dive, at least one other person can make it out. I also find that I dive more relaxed with someone watching my back and hunt more efficient using teamwork!

    Good job brother. I noticed that you are not using a required 3" x 5" red marker float along with your Float. Maybe you are not aware but there was a new rules/emergency policy to use 3"x5" red marker float along with your 5" x 11" float. I am surprised you are not keeping those delicious rock crabs. Overall, great video.
