  • In the episode we replace our mattresses for more comfort on the boat, refill the tanks and set sail south towards Braka in our preparation to cross to Gotland. I even get to test out Henrik's "mini monster", that was a lot of fun.

I'm amazed at that water temperature, thanks for the education.

You get a coil spring that fits at the bottom of the block that makes them stand up by them selfs.

Another great video. On the blocks we attach the shock cord to a small white plastic hook that clips over the wire. So far lasted four years and easy to take off when blocks removed over winter. Just an idea. Sailing in thunder is not fun, don't forget to pop your electronics in oven to create a Faraday cage to protect them. On our Hanse the Autopilot compass was first thing to go haywire with thunder so be careful if using Autopilot as helm goes hard over very quickly!

Hi Jon. Thanks for tip on the blocks, will try to find some of those to test for he new season. Yes, if the thunder had been any closer we would have used the oven, and probably switched off the autopilot. Thunder is no fun on the water. Take care, Chris & Tanja

You could just put a piece of heat shrink plastic on the part of the rubber band rubbing against the guard rail

Hi Stig. Thank you for the tip, could be a solution, if we are in a situation where we can't put it through the roller. Cheers, Chris & Tanja

I live close to Bullandö, did you try the restaurant Bullandö Krog, it has a good reputation for its food. I'm looking forward to your (epic) crossing to the Island of Gotland. Cheers.

Hi Sgt-Bond. Lucky you! Yes, it is a really great restaurant, been there many times! Stayed there for a weekend in September ,for a boat show, and had all our meals there. Tanja got addicted to their Skärgårdsgryta:) Cheers, Chris & Tanja

It not fair releasing these videos now. I want to go back to summer and sailing in Stockholm.

Hi M. Rez. Thank you for your comment. Yes, it really does make us long to summer and going back on the water. But we are only a few months away now:-) Cheers, Chris & Tanja

The block thing....they seemed to have flat metalsheet sides where the pin is. I think that's the chafe issue. Maybe a small shackle, the ones made of round bar, between the block and bungeestrop would help. Or a small dyneemashackle. Or something on top of the bungeestrop as a chafeguard. A fact is though that there's big differences in bungeequality.

Hi Kenneth. Thanks for your comment. You are right maybe we chose a bad bungee. Others have also recommended Dyneema shackle, but we didn't think that, that would be elastic enough, but will look into it again and maybe test. Cheers, Chris & Tanja

@@SailingAurora I didn't mean that you replace the bungee with a dyneema shackle but put it between the block and the bungee.

On my boat the block did not have the top part so I could not use elastic. So I installed coil springs, probably you have these on the main sheet already. I’m unsure if the will work with 2 blocks though.

Hi Peter. Thanks for your comment. Yes, other have suggested springs as well, we'll look into that for the new season. Take care, Chris & Tanja

Det finns fjädrar att montera mellan blocket och fästet, då tvingas de att stå upp. Haft en sådan på min optimist på ”storskotet”😎
