How much the replacement stereo sold by dealer? On my friends truck is stop sounding it displays but no audio I was thinking it was an amplifier issue but it seems this model has all inside the stereo you know some cars have stereo interface and in the back the amp interface which is a hassle. Why did you replace this one if you don’t mind me asking ?

Hi, I got your message. I got mine from the dealership. There are radio mechanics that can fix your issue. There is a company called Radio Medics where I am at and they are straight radio wizards. They fix stuff I never thought possible. You can replace yours of course but there may be a warranty to look into from the dealership. Just saying some options. It may be out of warranty as well. Idk. I hope you get it figured out though. Come back if you get it fixed and let us know what worked

I have a dead JBL unit in my 2014 highlander limited. it has nav. been crashing for about a year, now nav won't load, and bluetooth won't start on the head. I would love to replace with a non-OEM head unit, but I'm not sure my wife would be happy with the potential for steering wheel controls not working, backup camera, and nav.
I've looked to try to buy a refurbished unit, but can't find one. is this something that I will have to get from the dealer? About how much was the unit you installed, and was it new or refurb.
Also, what is the unit that you transferred from the old to the new?
    Thanks for this video!

+Peter Johnson You may be under warrenty to get a new one free. Toyota has identified these problems and have come out with software updates that techs can do to greatly improve the units functional operation. I would stay with oem if u can. Ive seen aftermarket ones cause weird problems. And like u said steering wheel buttons may not work right and such. Goodluck. I would love to know what u end up doing!

I recently purchased the 2015 highlander LE Plus & realized afterwards that my system does not have navigation. Could I have the unit upgraded by a Toyota dealership or even purchase the unit you just reinstalled into my vehicle for full navigation function?

+J Roman I want to say yes. Im not solid though. I belive the radios come with an option to have nav but if it doesnt there are some that come with it. A trip to toyota for you should answer your question. Or perhaps look through your settings and menus to see if there is any nav options.

I second that opinion, I have a 2015 Limited and I trust and rely and on my smartphone with Google maps and/or Waze to provide all the navigation functionality I need. It's better because the Google navigation app and maps/nav information on my phone are updated, to update your Toyota nav system app and maps you have to pay (upwards of $60 per update) and they don't issue updates as often as Google. Besides, a brand new 2015 Toyota Highlander JBL Gracenote Navigation GPS HD Bluetooth CD Radio 57064, brand new OEM replacement runs about $3,200, plus the installation (probably another bunch of money) if don't feel you can do it yourself. Mine just quit working at only 25,500 miles and I do miss the backup camera, radio, telephone, and other system management interface functions. If not under warranty I'm going to have to take it out myself and send it out to be repaired. Hope this helps.

@@josemontelongo8177 so were you able to update the software to work with the Iphone 11. I just purchased the Iphone 11 and when I connected it to bluetooth my audio system starting re-booting as well. So I stumbled up on an update on Toyota's website securedp.toyota.com/download-app/getHeadUnits
and downloaded it. At first it seemed like it didn't want to download because the system would reboot after about 5 minutes. So I left it alone after about 3 tries and the next day it would play without rebooting. So I assume the update did download.
