I think I could watch this machine working all day and I would not get bored of it !! really cool!

Orange, green, and yellow are my favorite color Haribo bears too

Cool project. In the US I believe we call them Gummy Bears though they are made by Haribo. I like all flavors of them, but don’t enjoy licorice flavor black jellybeans so I guess I could sort those.
More practicality I want to one day make a remote WiFi controlled robot with an arm or claw of some sort to move packages out of sight on my porch. Some shippers leave packages in plain sight. My robot would move them to a hidden location. Robot arm kits seem expensive, even for cheap weak ones. I think high quality, safe, and low cost robotic arms will be an important part of broader application of automation.

Thank you! Here in Poland we also call them gummy bears but most people just call them haribos because those are the best. Good idea with a robot, but how about a box that you can open remotely let's say with a smartphone so that shipper can throw a package into it and then it closes itself so that package is safe? It would be a little bit simpler I think.

amazing little and complete production line. Achieving such a project makes you learn more than moving randomly some artificial fingers. It's actually a complete project. I bet it required pounds of filament ;)

I actually study mechatronics at school so I know some stuff about those things, that's why I decided to make little bit more mechatronics connected project. I am not sure but I think that I used about 300 grams of filament to print all of that, not that bad :)

MIght surprise you but I had to google the translation of "mechatronics" in french (I live on Strasbourg), and I discover that it's a mandatory course before the college. They call it "mécatronique". I would have appreciated it if I were younger.). Whatever it's called, it's the future of robots and all home/industrial automations. Pretty good idea to post some projects about that. Have a nice and... productive day as usual Nikodem!

No KISS this is. A sliding platform with the boxes on it the gears as is seen could been printet and a bucket which let it out as like weighing systems were some buckets which make the desired weight get unloaded into bags. For ex. "Gummibären" which go by weight and not by color as which is more the case for a "Ampel" having green, orange and red paprika in one flowpack. Which are litterally three ripping states of the same fruit going in order of appearance which also goes for their sweetnes versus bitterness antiproportionaly as they rippe.

Can you make the sprter without a color sorter but with a bar code sorter

  • @danielfledersbacher7299

Can i make that with a bar code scanner?

It’s so funny! We did the same in 1990 with smarties :) I used 5 solonoids and a conveyor. And I created my own colour sensor by having 3 lights red green and blue (blue LED was 58 euros back then so I resorted to 12V bulbs and dyed them. And turned each one on in order and measured the strength of each. And I would the conveyor run the right amount of steps for that solinoid and fire them all 5 (memory was expensive back then :) ); And as it fired a new smartie was ejected onto the beginning of the conveyor.
The mechanics were the hardest. I still don’t like mechanics.

Robotic arm looks really cool ! I know its kind of your DEMO, but - Did you think about making some kind of chute with just only one flap directing gummy bears down and left or right ? You could also have made last piece of slope out of acrylic and install sensor under to save time on moving the color sensor. This would be much simpler and faster way to get the job done. So sad I have not had arduinos, cheap servos etc. when I was at your age :D

This project is about that, too many components and overengineered! I didn't want it to be optimal just to look nice :)

I could complain about tiny things, but I won't :D, because you did a great job actually :D maybe if you are getting more used to speak english, a lot more people would watch your endless great content

Thanks a lot for this positive feedback. I always try to improve my English in every video, that's the biggest weakness on my channel but I think we can see some improvements compared to my older videos. Thanks a lot!

dude, that is really impressive, but I think you have overdone this project, you can simply use a conveyer belt (instead of the robotic arm), that has the two boxes on it and moves according to your desired color, you gonna need a dc motor and two limit switches, this is going to be a lot faster. excellent work.

Thanks a lot, yes I know this project is overengineered but I wanted it to be like this :) I like this arm, the way it looks and works it is just cool! There are a lot of ways to do that simply and effectively but with this arm, it looks much better :)

Why not making a y-shapes slope, so you will use gravity to get them in the trays, instead of the arm :)
