I like the early 90s RG570s of any colour - only difference is no scratch plate. The necks are just insane on them. I throw a DiMarzio Paf Pro in the bridge pickup position and I am happy.
I appreciate you demoing the clean tones. For such a kick ass metal machine, I can hear some very nice subtleties there. I'm biased because I own one, but I dearly love Ibanez.
Leon playing a higher end Ibanez?! Hell has frozen over truly. Hope you enjoy it, we have a long-standing community of Ibanez enthusiasts that love these, especially Japanese-made ones like the j Customs and the old Vintage Violin series.
I have a dark blue RG760 I bought in 89. Still have it, still play it. Great guitar! It was out around the same time as the RG550 everyone knows about. Music stores used to be lined up with those Ibanez guitars. Walls of them! I remember a Jackson at one store with a sign next to it that said “if you like pain, then touch this”. 😂 Then everything changed, and I couldn’t even trade it, around 98. Grunge was still king at that time. After that things ebbed and flowed. Cool to see Ibanez still making great guitars.
I wake up at the crack of Noon like any self respectin guitarsehole and my substances make mercifully short work of reality.. I figured if my guitars are too many, then 100 ain't near enough..? Short Scale Bass next. How many guitars do you need?. All of them..🤪🎸🤘
Absolutely one of your more savage videos with your playing especially and I think that new guitar is really inspiring you to get creative…..can I ask what your string tuning is ? Keep up the good work Sir ✨
Evertune is such a great piece of engineering. Glad to see Ibanez endorse it (as retrofitting never really an option unles you don't care about money). Got two Solars with the ET bridge. Great stuff. Don't really care for the Fishman pickups personally though. All positions sound too much alike and not in a good way for my taste. Here I also hear a sort of clank that grates me the wrong way.
Ibanez keeps putting the volume knob in the wrong place... Failure Evertune cannot be quickly retuned to "drop", which I also consider a big inconvenience.
I had a similar iron label. With dimarzio fusion edge pickups. A 5 way and the power tap switch. Unfortunately I didn’t like the pickups as much as the ones in my rgd axion label or all the switching options. I’m more of a bare bones kind of guy so I traded it for a Jackson monarkh. I have a Jackson ht6 multi scale with fishmans that I love as well
@@ikarosdream5971 well the system in itself has a moving parts latency. what do I mean by that? well, the springs themself move or let's say countermove the off-tuning relatively slowly. physically a spring is a very slow acting part. so therefore there are in fact tuning instabilities of a few cents always present. But way worse, compared to a fixed bridge, is the fact that you can never intonate it absolutely perfectly and I've set up and intonated thousands of guitars in the last 20 years and a plethora of evertune bridges beside several True Temperament fret Guitars. My tolerance for stable intonation is maximum -/+3 Cents. If a guitar moves more than this, it's not a proper tool in my opinion. the evertunes move constantly between -/+ 9 cent in most guitars. so the system is not perfect. For me, I found it to be too unreliable. For recording a fixed bridge with locking tuner and a perfectly filed and lubricated nut is the best thing you can use. yes you have to tune but with the evertune you also have to constantly check if you're in the right zone otherwise the spring delay comes into play mentioned above. so what is the difference in the end? the fixed bridge is reliable in the way that you exactly see when and how much you're off tune, the evertune on the other hand moves unpredictable which lures a lot of guitarists into thinking that they recorded the lick in tune but having some shifting up and down during playing. So I work with evertunes since their release in 2010 and know their system by heart but I could never get along with them. I don't want to go into detail about converting guitars to evertune and how they unfortunately change sound and especially sustain here. that's another page of text. Still I think the system has it's place for some players and it's a cool idea, it's just far from "perfect" as it's always claimed to be. So now I'm sitting here waiting for the hate comments from people that I triggered with this post 😅
with those fisherman actives and in this case the evertune system, you become an absolute 9V Block Battery Industry Slave like me🤣, especially if you forget to unplug it a few times
I'm glad that the ibanez guys are getting something like this without the prestige tax but honestly I feel like this cookie cutter recipe of the super strat with evertune and fluence modern pickups is feeling a little played out. At least it seems that way to me. Seems like everyone has this exact guitar in their lineup now and no one is doing anything to differentiate from the pack. The other part of the rub for me personally is that I'm just not inspired at all by the fluence modern pickups.
But why Ibanez didn’t use mahogany for the body? Wouldn’t be warmer and rounder in sound than nyatoh with fluence pickups? Is just a matter of guitar weight or costs?
No! Ibanez can keep their cheap ass wood. Do you guy's realize that people like Yamaha and others at cheaper price points are still giving alder bodies, rosewood fretboards ect? Ibanez is trying to normalize cheap shit. They get it next to nothing and charge premium prices. There's a reason why we didn't use these woods in the past. They'll say anything to get you to believe that this is okay and not a big deal. It's a big deal
What's your favourite Ibanez guitar, and why is it the desert yellow RG550?
I have a jem jr in yellow, my folks brought me for my 44th b day, that's super fun and special to play.
I like the early 90s RG570s of any colour - only difference is no scratch plate.
The necks are just insane on them. I throw a DiMarzio Paf Pro in the bridge pickup position and I am happy.
My favorite Ibanez is my JS6.
My rgd axion label. Sapphire burst, 26.5 scale, single volume knob and dimarzio fusion edge pickups. It’s the ideal bare bones modern metal machine
The neck on my 98 RG 520 is insane. 🤯
I appreciate you demoing the clean tones. For such a kick ass metal machine, I can hear some very nice subtleties there. I'm biased because I own one, but I dearly love Ibanez.
Very much appreciate your love for Kings X.
Bro this guitar for some reason just goes with your fit you should definitely keep it those tones were beastly!🤟🏻Very impressive LT!
Leon playing a higher end Ibanez?! Hell has frozen over truly. Hope you enjoy it, we have a long-standing community of Ibanez enthusiasts that love these, especially Japanese-made ones like the j Customs and the old Vintage Violin series.
Wait until you see the Prestige AZ they let me play :p
Absolutely love the reverse headstock.
This thing looks absolutely majestic
In The New Age! The sound of the bridge single coil &/or tap with the high gain is GLORIOUS!!!
I have a dark blue RG760 I bought in 89. Still have it, still play it. Great guitar!

What a beautiful guitar. Would instantly buy a 7-string version of this.
My favourite brand with Ty Tabor licks!!! Great review!
even with the high gain there is a clarity to the sound - a bit a clean lies underneath the dirt - nice demo
Killin' it with the King's X!! 🤘🏼😸🤘🏼
Great riffin' man. You sound amazing!
Sounds like a 7-string…some of the modes sound like a wah engaged. Interesting for sure. I’ll be researching that evertune system. Thanks, Leon!
Man, the “no-bend” mode of the Evertune makes riffs sooo tight and clean. None of that string going slightly sharp bullshit when doing the chugs. 😍
Absolutely slaps
You mean none of that “silly playing guitar and not midi bullshit”?
@@ErForce1 I’m not following you.
I’m not worth following, brother! Carry on ❤
Gotta love the King’s X riffs!
Do you ever just sit there and think, I don't have enough guitars! 🤣
Mornings usually. Afternoons are the opposite :p
@@LeonTodd That's when reality sets in 😂
I wake up at the crack of Noon like any self respectin guitarsehole and my substances make mercifully short work of reality.. I figured if my guitars are too many, then 100 ain't near enough..?
Short Scale Bass next.
How many guitars do you need?. All of them..🤪🎸🤘
Wow, that's really impressive and it sounds exactly how you'd expect. Excellent!
Yep, this one is a banger!
I see a few new affordable Ibanez about to hit the market, think I will get the AZ standard now due to the price great specs for the money!
That looks amazing!
That is drop dead gorgeous in gloss black and gold pups. 🖤
oh snap! Ok, this will be my next guitar, no joke! The gold and black is classy!
Dude it's a beast. Indonesian made guitars have come a long way very quickly.
Absolutely one of your more savage videos with your playing especially and I think that new guitar is really inspiring you to get creative…..can I ask what your string tuning is ? Keep up the good work Sir ✨
I really like reverse headstock.
As a previously Ibanez endorsed player I wish I was still on their roster 😅

Hope we get a 7 string Prestige just like that.
That would be unreal!
What's my favorite? Not a desert yellow...but my 1988 black RG550 with a Duncan Screamin' Demon in the bridge. That one stays with me no matter what.
😁
Amazing! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎸
I love this, but would have preferred a satin finish!
Ok hol up I wasn't expecting to be smitten by the gloss black body-golden pickups-black ET look. What a sleek machine.
I had a rg570 in 1995. I sold it to buy my first PRS. It was nice but the PRS is perfect.
😍
Honestly kinda disappointed they haven't released a lefty TOD10 here. I still see one coming though.
Ibanez keeps putting the volume knob in the wrong place... Failure
Evertune cannot be quickly retuned to "drop", which I also consider a big inconvenience.

oh man I HATE EVERTUNE but it's such a beautiful guitar.
What makes you hate it? Curious.

Looks sick great specs
how much does it cost?
Mate it's a Google search away if you really wanna know
@Tombking2 mate, it takes 2 seconds for him to say it in the video that he is making for said product.
1.4k usd, fair price imo, you get ss frets, evertune bridge, fishman pickups, etc.
That's going to be a bugger to keep clean!!! Ibanez make some lovely guitars something for everyone
LOVE how chonky the fishman moderns sound.. I have them on my Eclipse .. that into a FAS Modern or a FAS 6160 is just bees knees.
FAS Stealth Blue here, love it!
Ticks all my boxes except one. I want shark fin inlays back.
with those fisherman actives and in this case the evertune system, you become an absolute 9V Block Battery Industry Slave like me🤣, especially if you forget to unplug it a few times
I bought a 470 and upgraded the @#☆¿ out of it 6 months ago... i love the outcome but now i like that New Ibanez !
Thanks Leon 🙃
Looks damn beautiful....❤️🫶🔥🤟
Honestly, I'd go for the RGRB720 just because Korn turned me onto seven string guitars.
Evertune: Kahlers for fixed bridge people. :)
Hahaha
Let’s talk about the preset. Please share!
FM9 FAS Stealth Blue - LT TV Mix 7 IR - Gold Plate verb - Dual Detune
Wow it looks so metal, I would have been smitten in the 90's. 😂 But back then this model would have been out of my price range.
And its $200 cheaper than ESP LTD MH-1000 EverTune. I think I'll be adding this to my black guitar collection.

And yet Ibanez are still totally incapable of installing centre fret dots. Why they keep pissing about with offset dots is anyone's guess.
Looking good, but I like to do bending, vibrato and dive bombing. So not for my kind of metal.
I want one!
Did I hear some King’s X in there???
You know it!
RG 565 VK Reissue
This fishman's sound harsh. Cant take it.
Looks so nice, yet Ibanez's weird ass model number looks like it says "REGRET" 😂
You can easily misread the model name as 'regret' 😭
Slick 👍🇨🇦
The Fishman pickups are the latest fad - I can’t buy into the sterile nature of them. They are like a full load, but you actually shooting blanks.
Why?! Why not Floyd Rose :.-(
But why Ibanez didn’t use mahogany for the body? Wouldn’t be warmer and rounder in sound than nyatoh with fluence pickups?
Is just a matter of guitar weight or costs?
probably too expensive for me lol
😂 translation: ".....nevertune....! Greets.
1:06 Filthy killer riffs
$1,399 US
Leave it to the Japanese to build an excellent guitar, and give it a model name that spells "RGRET". 🙂
no ragrets
is this an ad? or ad in disguise?
Yes. The Australian Distributor loaned me the guitar to make the video.
No evertune, thx.

God, I absolutely HATE Evertune. To those of you that like 'em, more power to you, but I can not stand that sh*t.
HATE the Evertune bridge. Makes your guitar heavier and sounds objectively worse (thin). For tuning stability???? LOLOLOL get a proper nut. Profit.
I honestly will never understand Ibanez
