Just finished my K6ARK EFHW Build. Total finished length 61.5'. Flat 1:1 SWR across 40, 20, 15 and a good chunk of 10. No Coax - direct to radio. Sloper configuration. My tip: I placed a loop of paracord thru the small loading coil and use that as my lash point near the radio end.... the 6' of wire between that and the BNC are then 'loose' for connection to the radio. Thanks Adam!
Thanks Josh, great video. When I'm soldering tiny PCBs, I use Blu Tack to temporarily stick them to the work surface. It keeps the PCB from sliding around, leaves no residue and holds up well for short duration soldering.
Great show Josh and Adam, thank you for showing the build of this beast! Looks great!
Got one and glad you put this video up so I can see how to build it!
Josh, Adam- great content as always. Adam's miniatures are just 👌
This is a great antenna design! Super portable for SOTA and very low power radios. Keep in mind that your radio and you will be the counterpoise, and the components won't survive more than a few watts of power.
Ordering a kit tonight, hope to see the winder Adam was printing available in near future.
Josh being a big heat sink at end... Good video guys...
This looks like a really cool kit, but I just don't have a use case for it yet. Yet. When I sort out my CW I can see this and a QCX mini being great backpacking.
As of today, seems none of his kits are available at Amazon. Any other resource?
This is awesome Josh and Adam! - I can't wait to get my kit in the mail tomorrow!! One question: you mention 2mm Banana plugs... do you have any imagery on how you hook them up or links to decent ones on Amazon? I'm used to the 4mm ones you can side-plug, or use Cobra heads... but, what's the female receptor for a 2mm? Thanks a million!
So cool
Next time your iron dies, check out the fx-951. Much better thermal transfer
I'm struggling to find what kind of cable is used for the antenna itself, can anyone point me in the right direction please? The kits are long gone.
If I wanted to use 10, 20, and 40 meters on a single 49:1 unun, could I just cut three resonant wires and connect them to the unun? Then put it up on a 23 foot mast at the same time instead of a single wire up on the unun at a time? Or would the other resonant wires being connected create some weird feedback/RFI if all connected at the same time? Just trying to make things easier and more efficient for SOTA activations.
Catching this on #teamreplay Since I’m about to build one, figured I better watch!
I hope it helped!
does the smd have a top side and bottom side?
Found QRP 49:1 Transformer Ready Built from Radio Active (UA-cam) K7WHN, sold on Ebay ; )
There are lots of 49:1 antennas. 🤷🏼♀️
Confused by this. I thought antenna wires had to be really long, not just a few inches. What am I missing? 😞
You attach a wire to that floating lead. Or wire and counterpoise in the case of Adam’s example from the show.
I’m always curious….how do you or from do you stream those images/memes during the beginning of the stream?
I use something called OBS it’s streaming software.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse ahh nice….I always thought maybe they are transmitted over air as in SSTV
So umm who wants to make two of these antenna kits for me to purchase?

Josh! Why are you complicating this? Just show the man's video and let him do what he came here for ? We all get that you've made one before we all get that, you've made it abundantly clear several times!
Hi, relax. Comb your beard.
Too bloody long
