As a Taiwanese, I always feel that we are well-connected and marginal people in the world. Although our scientific and technological strength and economic performance are not bad, and our democratic system is also very complete, because of the "neighbors" next door... you know, it is difficult to be in the international community. Obtain official recognition [United Nations]
Hi, I'm your subscriber and I hope I'm helping, when you refer to continents here in America such as Central America, North America and South America How you did it is also correct, however pt2
lmao Taiwan is not "very left leaning" simply because it's allowed homosexual marriage, and you say that juxtaposed with you calling China a communist country. What does left-leaning mean for you, man? And there is no "cooperative environment" for Israel-Palestine, it only ends with one or the other; that's clearly what each side wants (hopefully Palestine). At the very least you have a pretty wonderful understanding on Armenia.
I don't believe there is an ultimatum for Palestine-Israel. Call me an eternal optimist, but I believe there is a version where there is one state that accommodates all. Will it happen, probably not, but I can hope! Left leaning, for me, means a state which attempts some version of equality for minority groups, such as LGBT, disabled, women, etc. and a version of socialism which protects its population. Communism, at least in my view, although far left, is an extremist view of society that is as bad as Nazism. I still have lots to learn about politics, but thanks for pointing out some of my inconsistencies.
@@WelshASMR82Maps First off, sorry if I came off like an ass, you're obviously a good dude who cares about this kind of stuff. Communism and Socialism are not mutually exclusive and are often synonymous with one another. What most people view as the negatives of the "extreme" left-wing are born from Stalinism and failed socialist states (and I guess 50's era McCarthyistic propaganda). Communism itself isn't inherently evil whereas fascism and its offshoots like Nazism objectively aims to subjugate a subset of individuals and blame them for their economic/societal issues. I'd say Cuba is a safe bet on a country that achieved a level of socialism/communism without being pearl-clutchingly bad. I'm not really saying you can't have your own opinion about how a state operates and its contradictions, the more I get older, the more I find every nation has blood on their hands. Secondly, Taiwan may be what I call "socially liberal" with certain things such as gay marriage but moreso "fiscally conservative" akin to South Korea or the U.S. which is kinda why the U.S. has such a keen interest in them; since they ideologically share the same things (I'm sure it's obvious). China's a bit complicated, although they label themselves as "Communist" they have very openly been veering towards a shift into a market economy for the past 30 years. Although they still have some economically left-leaning tendencies, the country is past Mao Zedong and the cultural revolution now. A lot of their apprehensions to gay marriage and whatnot is born out of the nationalism that still fuels a lot of the government and its officials, which reviles "western influence" although homosexuality is OBVIOUSLY very common like EVERYWHERE haha. And for Israel/Palestine, I honestly agree that a peaceful solution is the best outcome. I don't think your idealism is bad. What I've heard from my Palestinian friends and overtime the things I've read about the dispute I've come to understand that Palestinian people did have their land stolen over the past few decades, no matter what ancient claim anyone else might have. This is very much ongoing and won't stop until they are driven out completely. So that's kind of what I'm basing my take on. :)
lots of love to transnistria from austria. i find your country very interesting, i hope i can visit it soon one day! is it safe to travel to tiraspol at the moment?

Nagorno-Karabakh has never been Armenian. Even before the collapse of the USSR, it was the territory of the Azerbaijan SSR. But yes, Armenians lived there together with Azerbaijanis. “Karabakh” is even the name of the land in the Turkic language, which means “black garden”. You said that the Azerbaijanis destroyed cultural heritage. The territory of Nagorno-Karabakh consists of only 4 cities (4 districts, regions). It was the Armenian army that launched the offensive. They occupied 7 more regions of Azerbaijan as a buffer zone and expelled 1 million people from their homes. For 30 years they destroyed everything. You can watch a video of the lands liberated in 2020. There is nothing, just ruins. This is the internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan, and no country in the world has recognized this fake country, not even Armenia, because it is contrary to international law. Since last week, this “country” has “declared its non-existence.” It was a “cancer” that stopped the development of both countries. Russia used this conflict to control both countries. I hope we will understand what tragedy we have experienced during 30 years of war, and we will never dare to fight again! I hope our mistakes will help us to understand that war is NEVER the way we can solve the problems.
I also read that it was a deliberate effort by Russia to destabilise the region after the break up of the USSR. It has cost so many lives :( Such a sad story.
Its the Bajo Nuevo and Serranilla banks i believe. Its claimed by those two and 3 more, USA Jamaica and Colombia. They are administered by Colombia though, Nicaragua also claims the Colombian province of San Andres, but thats also controlled by Colombia

I believe that Bavaria is close to becoming disputed. Bavaria is the home of Nationalism and have the direct right to a lot of Nazi books. Bavaria also has the highest German percentage of people and have a very large different to most states in Germany. I believe Bavaria should be independent as they have a rich economy, strong nationalism and will be a great use to Bavarians in Austria and Sud Tyrol.

(Also, Greenland's official language is known as Greenlandic in English, but it's an Eskimo-Aleut language with two distinct dialects-Kalaallisut (West Greenlandic) and Tunumiit oraasiat (East Greenlandic)! It's related to Inuit languages like Inuktitut and Iñupiaq!
You are smart 🤓
i’ve noticed a lot of countries have their capitals as “city of _” or “_ city”
like djibouti or mexico as example
Thing about Kashmir, as I recall, was the fact that the general population was mainly muslims but the monarch/ruler of the area was Hindu so he asked India for assistance, that's how the dispute started
Which happens to become a more complex issue since the Muslims in Kashmir are not truly native unlike Hindus etc so the situation itself intertwines w religion
@@Jordan-w7u Yes, so nobody knows how it came to be at this point. But what I know is that Kashmir is now a muslim majority and wants to join Pakistan, however, India isn't letting go
Yes, that's sort of how I understood it too. It's a very complex situation!
@@TheBaguetteSpyPersonally, I take a pro India stance not because of bias rather research however something that always stood out is the amount of division in such a continent. Referring to the separatism movements like Naga to Dravidian to Khalistan etc.
@@windman_ I personally side with the people, not the authority of a single individual in power. I do read both sides, and each side has messed up, but I'll side with Pakistan on this issue since it benefits the people.

The topic about Qarabakh is wrong what you explaining. In history the area was always belonged to Azerbaijan. Even archielogist found a place of pray which was from people who believed in fire. In history, as everybody knows, armenia never believed in fire but Azerbaijanis did in the past before becoming a muslim country.
Well the Gaza Strip is under Hamas which did break off from Fatah (PLO), but it is included under the State of Palestine in your book there going off of the area and population listed. Obv Fatah still claims the area despite not controlling it
Ah, I see! Thanks for explaining 😃

Very nice ASMR👍🏻Btw recently many countries withdrew their Kosovo recognition, so now officially more countries don't recognize it than the ones that do
6:25 I’m a bit late 😅 but as I remember Algiers used to be the capital of free France during German occupation in WW2
Oh wow! Did not know that
plzz make a greenland video
Did you neglect to mention the esequibo in South America?
Oh, I have never heard of that. Interesting! I will check it out!!
10:24 The reason spain doesn't recongise Kosovo is because they have their own issue with the people of Catalonia, its a fairly similar situation so they don't want to recognise Kosovo as it could give legitmacy to Catalonia
If any country has to hold Greenland I’m glad it’s Denmark. It has some of the largest known rare earth mineral/rare metal deposits under the ice sheet. Some other country might have already destroyed the whole island if they had the chance.
Good point!

Homosexuality is not illegal in the PRC. You just can't legally marry or adopt as a couple.
Cool video. As far as I know, there is no European tectonic plate. There is only a Eurasian plate.
Hi, I'm your subscriber and I hope I'm helping, when you refer to continents here in America such as Central America, North America and South America How you did it is also correct, however pt2
The right thing is only 1 continent that would be "American Continent" I hope I helped I really like your videos
I read somewhere that it can be considered as just 1 continent. Thank you for your comment!
Woah, book looks interesting, any chance you could tell where I could get something similar? ^^

@@WelshASMR82Maps Thanks!
lmao Taiwan is not "very left leaning" simply because it's allowed homosexual marriage, and you say that juxtaposed with you calling China a communist country.
surprised Hawaii wasn’t included
its a state? why whould it be inculded?
@@mjb6839 pretty much the entire world is stolen land. Hawaii does not dispute itself being a state

lots of love to transnistria from austria. i find your country very interesting, i hope i can visit it soon one day! is it safe to travel to tiraspol at the moment?
Pretty sure there is a small island that has Canada and Greenland's border running through it and neither side can decide which side it belongs to, so every now and then one country comes to the island and replaces the flag and leaves some kind of gift. Not 100% about the two country's
Trust Canada to leave a gift rather than shoot at people. I can think of a dozen countries that would just take it by force...

It has cost so many lives :( Such a sad story.
there is a dispute between Nicaragua and Honduras or something like that
Its the Bajo Nuevo and Serranilla banks i believe. Its claimed by those two and 3 more, USA Jamaica and Colombia. They are administered by Colombia though, Nicaragua also claims the Colombian province of San Andres, but thats also controlled by Colombia

Guatemala didnt recognize Belize because they said its their disputed territory with British Empire
Hello, I've been watching your videos for a long time but I don't understand English very well. Maybe it would be possible for them to subtitle German :)
I believe that Bavaria is close to becoming disputed. Bavaria is the home of Nationalism and have the direct right to a lot of Nazi books. Bavaria also has the highest German percentage of people and have a very large different to most states in Germany. I could see a split of Baden snd Württemberg as the two have before due to some difference. Württemberg could apart of Bavaria rather than being their own state. I believe Bavaria should be independent as they have a rich economy, strong nationalism and will be a great use to Bavarians in Austria and Sud Tyrol.
Aren’t the Falkland Islands technically disputed between Britain and Argentina?
Yes, that's correct!
Okay so. Greenland and Denmark. Denmark “own” greenland and have the govorning rights. But nothing else, and the same with faroe islands. Those two “countries” are the only danish ones
So is Faroe Islands like Wales? i.e. it has some self governing rights but essentially England has control?
American territories were never spanish colonies, they were recognised as provinces, known as viceroyalties, with the same rights as if they were Madrid, Andalucía or whatever territory on the peninsula, with the same representation in our Courts
Ah, ok!! Thanks for the info!
Transnistria, the only little piece of the CCCP left,
Guantanamo could be argued as disputed since the Cuban government claims it’s illegal.
