You must be due for a flagging refresher course. Those yellows are set up on the center bidirectional track as a caution for the motor man entering the station. The first set of yellows ARE more than 500 feet from the flagger on the track being worked on.
Yes, there was a crew working at the other end of the station. Once they safely clear up, they give the okay for the train to proceed.
What did I just watch? Meaning... did the flag guy basically give the train an all clear to proceed? Is there another guy further down?
