Interesting use of a grinding wheel. I’m going to give that a go!
me too
Nice work!
Thank you 🙏
Great video. Thank you. Just subscribed
Thank you 🙏
You have a very steady hand with that paint roller! I'm new to leather craft, is this a good beginner project? Thanks!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the tips! The result I get with the edge paint I bought is way too shiny for me. I've been trying a couple of coats of black tokonole with some fine sanding in between for a more matted result. However, I have no idea how durable the tokonole way is compared to edge paint.
You’re welcome. Have you tried Angelus Flat Black? I love it!
@@TikalLeatherPatterns I will check it out, thanks.
Perfect work, bro... Just one question... what are u using to polish?
Thanks mate! If you mean paint, it is just Angelus leather paint.
😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Itd be great to know what kind of edge paint youre using
Hi Alyssa! I use Angelus leather paint. Cheers
Thanks for the vid! This is an awesome tutorial. Is that a custom anvil? I cannot seem to find it online. Thanks ❤️
You’re welcome! I bought this anvil online many years ago, I’m not sure if they still sell them. You may be able to find something similar in a jewellery shop. Regards
@@TikalLeatherPatterns Okay, thank you for the info!!
What knife did you use to cut the leather? I like the idea of not using disposable blades.
Hi there, It is a shoemaker's knife, I have seen them in many leather tools shops. It is awesome for cutting and skiving. Cheers
What are the better edge paints for leather (chrome and veg)? Brands? Where to buy? Thanks
I use Angelus acrylic paint for chrome leather and Waproo leather day for vegtan, this is an Australian brand. Fiebing’s is also very popular. Where to buy? Check your local store or google them and choose the website that suits you best. Good luck.
@@TikalLeatherPatterns thank you so much
Can you tell us what glue you use? It looks very neat to use
It is an Australian brand and it’s sold only in Australia.
@@TikalLeatherPatterns I live in Australia and also want to know which glue you use, which brand is it?
What do you use if you don't have an expensive buffing wheel/burnisher?
You can use a slicker or a wooden leather burnished tool, the same tools used for veg tan leather. Cheers
I use a Dremel with woolen and grinding tips.

Gracias compadre, bendiciones!
Perhaps kindly change the title and description to say veg tanned not chrome tanned?
Hi there, it is chrome tanned leather, not veg tanned. Cheers
@@TikalLeatherPatterns that’s amazing, I’d love to have chrome tanned leather that behaved like that! All mine is dyed through and through and is too “spongy” to bevel and mushrooms from slicker (and dremel etc). I’m a little jealous ;-)
@@jessi95503 Mine too, very soft chrome tan, too soft to handle like that.
Chrome tanned leather?? I smell 🐂 💩
its more like veg tanned to me.
@@HungPham-ki9wu - Definitely. There’s NO way this is chrome tanned leather. None.
@@alamomonkey For sure not chrome tan... however, a good walk through of the making ;)
It's definitely a veg tan Latigo leather. Those edges would've never burnished like that on a buffing wheel
