Cucumber had an extended summer break and then was injured and then had to earn his place But boring to repeat but we have no idea what goes on in training. It's not panini

So he can play Reece James and have colwil central after gusto inverts. If cucurella played Lb and Reece RB, fofana would play central, something that he hasn't looked too confident in doing.
@meatator Fofana didn't have to be in the team. Infact Fofana has been underperforming and been a weak link in our defence. He doesn't deserve to be in our starting 11 at the cost of Cucu. Certainly hope he stays fit and despite solid play from Gusto, Reece has a higher ceiling. Sancho sample size is too small to displace Neto. Lots of hope but need to see Sancho goals.
Good video, George. I'll be honest, I'd ship Enzo out with any halfway decent offer. So disappointed in his time here. Bring Andrey Santos into the fold. He looks legit.
I think Kelleher would be a cheaper and better option, PL experience and Liverpool signed Mamadarshvili (excuse me if my spelling is wrong). This purchase might be a sign that Kelleher will remain a no.2 and he is too good to be a cup keeper. But I don't have to type a paragraph, as Chelsea fans we know him too well. He becomes Buffon when he plays us
Thank you George! Similar to this concept, would be very interesting to hear which players you feel are the longterm answer at each positions and which ones we should consider an upgrade in the next few windows
I would play Misha as an important sub in our upcoming games, just to see what he can bring. As for Nkunku and Felix, we may take our time and just play them when we have 6 attackers in a game.
Micha is simply not good enough and yesterday proved it. In front of a capable opposition, he has nothing to offer. Nkunku is a very good player who needs to be managed as he came back from a major injury. Felix has Palmer in front of him but is still a good player.
@@guyayissi1375 This comment reeks of bias. Nkunku was awful last night and he’s been back from injury for months, that’s no excuse. Mudryk put it on a plate for him twice and he failed both times. Just like against Forest when Mudryk did all of the work just for Nkunku to head it straight at the keeper. If you’re going to criticize the players at least be consistent.
@nibofc that's your fokin opinion that has no bearing on what I watch on my small screen. Don't need you to see and understand the game. Micha is not good enough, and Nkunku had a couple of bad games.
Absolutely spot on with the first team, but Season is long so still important players who can make the different is Nkunku, Sancho, Viega, Tosin but all of these players have to step up along with the other players like Felix and Mudryk
Even though Maresca’s system doesn’t allow for wide backs bombing up and down and delivering crosses, Reece James still needs to be in the team because of his defensive ability. I don’t know if we are going to see Reece play inverted and higher up the field like Gusto ever again but this new role is less of a risk for injuries and as long as he can stay fit then I’m happy
At around 2:30 , no one ever mentions, but it's also his ability to understand, adapt and work with his teammate abilities. Weather it's Jackson's runs. The wingers incredible pace. He's has the capacity to utilize that for the team, and it's just flippin brilliant.
I wouldn't say Maresca prefers Gusto over Cucurella, but he wanted Palmer to play in the left pocket (next to Neto, that's where both his pre-assist and goal came from) against Newcastle and Cucurella usually moves into that pocket. Because Palmer was in that space, he moved Reece to LB to act as a LCB while Gusto pushed up into the right pocket next to Madueke. This shows that the team is built around Palmer because Maresca is willing to tweak his defense depending on which space Palmer will occupy
I agree with your list… what do we do next year as we have santos, estevao and paez too…. And what do we do with carney, archempong and other Young talents…?
Enzo doesn’t seem to fit well into our new manager’s system. In the US way of doing sports, we would trade him for a top flight keeper. With the right team, it could be a win-win. Since that can’t (or won’t) happen, Enzo will remain the odd man out. It seems that we can’t fully utilize his undoubted talents. If we can’t do that, then eventually the player, the manager, the team and the fans will become increasingly frustrated.
I think Wesley Fofana is safe as our centreback because when you have Tosin and Disasi competing for your position of course you will win but I want to know why did the owners loan Chalobah to Crystal Palace he would actually be a good competitor with Fofana and will be a good centreback partner with Colwill.
The front sector has started to improve... all that remains is to fix the central defender sector, get rid of Badiasil Disasi Chilwel Chukwumeka Sanches, and if possible, plough Ruben Dias or Arujo.
I also think Nkunku would be playing better with Cole, caicedo, lavia, and other members of the first team feeding him. Forwards can look really bad and isolated when the team aren't involving them well. He had KDH on the side doing nothing first half and Felix carried the ball selfishly a lot of time, not really involving the other attackers.
I think Maresca played Reece on the left, so that colwill could play centrally and Fofana on the right. I reckon the only reason he's playing gusto over cucurella is that playing cucurella lb forces fofana into the centre of the 3, which I think he has struggled with.
Would like to see Sancho get more aggressive toward goal. If he can start driving into the box more and drawing fouls, he could find himself on the undroppable list
I thank God and club for maresca now I can see light in this beautiful football club..maresca will build something and he can only do this by facing out some of the deadbeat slowly by slowly like what pep gurdiola did withman city.
My personal Starting XI. 1. Palmer 2. Cucurella 3. Caicedo 4. Colwill 5. Nicholas JACKson 6. Lavia 7. James 8. Neto 9. Sanchez 10. Fofana 11. Sancho. Now those last few aren't the ones I think are worse players, it's the ones who have equally good sub options. Like we don't have another 10 as good as Palmer, we don't have a Left back as good as Cucu, we don't have another DM as good as Caicedo. But those last 4, basically have equal options. Neto and Noni, Sanchez and Jorgs, Fofana and Tosin, Sancho and Neto or Mudryk. Whereas those top 4 IMHO are irreplaceable.
Generally agree. I think I would remove madueke for Sancho and switch sides with neto. At prime Sancho is better, less greedy. What a shame it is that fofana hasn't really come back from injury yet. He was great before.
I'm enjoying your thoughts on the Chels and agree with much of your 11 here, however... Whilst I'd put Colwill in, to rank him before Cucu doesn't seem right. If anyone is going to concede a penalty or as you state, over hit a pass, it's Colwill. Cucu can develop defensively but offers more to the team in general. That said, Colwill does have Chelsea legend potential. Cucu and Neto and far better psychologically developed than Colwill and Madueke. I fear James' injuries have prevented him from being the potential world class right back we had a couple of years back. Gusto is our future and should be given game time to develop. he looks to have more to offer than James this season. Madueke isn't there as often as we need him to be and some games you wouldn't know he is on the pitch. His link up play tends to be passing back down the line if he doesn't have the confidence to beat his man. We need more from him like his performances at the start of the season or similar to the way Neto is playing now. Consistency is King..
THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYERS OF THIS TEAM…. 1-COLE. 2-MOI. 3-NICHOLAS. 4-LEVI. 5-CUCU. 6-ROMEO…. BUT SPECIALY PALMER AND CAICEDO ARE THE TALENT AND THE BRAIN OF THIS CHELSEA!!…
George you’ve got it almost spot on except for the Joao Felix take, he was the only player that impressed me against Newcastle, he’s 100% first team quality, I think it’s a lil unfair on him and nkunku because rhetoric are sooo much better than the players they’re playing with in the B team so the movements, passing, created chances, it just isn’t the same, so I feel for those 2
Exactly people are judging them 2 when their playing with a team that is just not as quality. Put them in 1st team where they get proper service and with players that are calm on the ball and you’ll be able to really see their quality
I agree with your comments about Nicholas Jackson, however put in the proviso the Nkunku only gets 10 minutes on the pitch in EPL games. Yes, he didn't preform yesterday, but I still believe in his ability to perform in EPL if given a chance - " one shallow doesn't make a summer " which means one bad game doesn't make him a bad player - otherwise Jackson would have been transferred out last season!! Give Nkunku a chance., although your obvious bias for Jackson means you'll NEVER support such a move. Just think back to how poor Jackson was last year😱🤯 Gusto is a great young player. Like Jackson, he has areas that need improving , so perseverance is required. I personally have real concerns about James' ability to maintain fitness Felix was a complete waste of time & money- just like he was last time he was with CFC
Icl i honestly think this is disrespectful towards Cucurella, imo he should be either 3 or 4th. He has been the best lb in the league by miles imo, Levi has his mistakes as always same as Jackson.
I may have had Sancho instead of Neto as I believe Sancho could develop into the signing of THIS season but I do really wish we could have a PL class keeper in goal. I also think Jackson is better this season but he needs to learn to keep his mouth closed or he is going to miss games.
I just pray we keep Fofana fit. I would have him higher up the list that 10th, his pace and street smarts are critical to us, as we saw last night Disasi and Badishiele simply do not cut it and Colwill needs an experienced head next to him. I would love to see Sancho in there when on the left with Neto on the right too as Sancho rarely loses possession but yea on paper we are dynamite.
There’s certain players that I just don’t understand the hype (fofana, Gallagher). We put titles like they play with their heart “street smart” without actually judging them on the ball. Fofana is not good on the ball and looks good because he plays with a calm 1st team. Put him on that b team and he looks just as bad
1. Gusto defends the flank better against pacey out and out wingers, Cucurella inverts better if we need help in midfield. 2. Reece James crosses the ball way better than Gusto, but Gusto inverts better than James. 3. Fofana is arguably the best centre back at Chelsea, overall. 4. Chelsea needs a proper goalkeeper to bring calmness in defence and help the team focus on winning matches rather than avoiding conceding easy goals. 5. Nkunku needs a run of 90-minute appearances to regain match sharpness. Should play as a number 10 or a winger. 6. Based purely on performances, any of the 20 odd players at Chelsea could have a case to be on a starting lineup. Nonone has really been so poor to be totally ignored.
I'm a Newcastle fan and have only seen Chelsea 5 or 6 times this season so take this with a pinch of salt but for me it would be. 1. Palmer 2. Jackson 3. Caiceido 4. Lavia 5. Madueke 6. Neto 7. Gusto/ James The other 4 spots are all open. You rate Colwill highly, and on the ball he can be Rolls Royce, but his defensive qualities are suspect. He gave a careless pen against Liverpool, took Guimaraes out when clean through etc. He's not aerially strong and I think a big or fast striker will cause him trouble. I think he's more suited to the left of a back three. As for Fofana, injuries aside, I think there's a mistake in him if you press him hard. You can complain about Sanchez all you want but the receiving CB and LB are generally not press resistant which is the reason for turnovers. That doesn't mean Colwill and co wouldn't work but right now there are huge issues with many of your defensive unit to play out from the back - in fact, you're better off using the back four to lul the opposition press in then hit it long over the top/ into the channels for Jackson or Neto to run onto. Fix your defence and you should be getting top 4 - the top three are currently way ahead of the rest.
You got it right with Colwil but then he is still the most reliable we have, that should tell you how bad chelsea is at the back today. Cucurella has been great too
That should be the exact first 11 deployed by Maresca to annahilate man united this Sunday. Gusto to come in later for James. Veiga later for Cucurella. Nkunku later for Jackson. Mudryk for later for Neto.
Don’t call me crazy but Tosin over Fofana. Tosin offers passing and is composed on the ball, just haven’t got consistent minutes with 1st team to prove his worth
Noni is a little too predictable. Id like to see him come off the bench and try Neto and Sancho on the wings, maybe find a way to get Nkuku in the starting 11.
lavia only played 2 games and u lot gives him the ST graal. sancho had 3 consecutives good games and now is on the bench. i wont say he is n1 their until i see consistency
I really can’t remember the last time I thought enzo played really well. Also agree each keeper is as bad the next how can we have 11 keepers and sign another one and all of them are mid or worse
Nah! Reece James has to re-earn his spurs as far as I’m concerned. Gusto is ahead of him by far. He’s still got to get full fitness as yet because he has been at fault for at least two of the goals we’ve conceded, mainly because he couldn’t get back in position or didn’t have the desire too.
The only reason Forfana makes it is because he’s the best of a mediocre bunch. We need a top class and solid defender, and dare I suggest the same goes for the goalkeeper position too. I don’t want to be harsh on Sanchez, but he’s not top class, and neither are any of our central defenders. Colwill may get there yet as he’s probably the one with the most potential. Disasi and Badiashile are hopeless at this level.
James our captain, when healthy maybe best RB in the world. Him not top 5 is wild and makes no sense. Palmer Caicedo Jackson James Colwill Cucurella Lavia Madueke Neto Fofana Sanchez
Really want nkunku to succeed and be In the team but Jackson can’t be dropped rn, and obviously he’s not getting in over cole Palmer. Could only really see him playing on the left like he did against Liverpool but then again that’s not his position.
The fact gusto ain’t in the top 3 is crazy, even with all the comments no one selects gusto, as much as I love Reece let’s be real gusto is currently above him
Exactly Ben you are absolutely right. Pedro Neto’s attitude is just giving , he is always happy for whoever scored for the team and he is giving is all to the team

Just think back to how poor Jackson was last year😱🤯
Gusto is a great young player. Like Jackson, he has areas that need improving , so perseverance is required. I personally have real concerns about James' ability to maintain fitness
Felix was a complete waste of time & money- just like he was last time he was with CFC
Icl i honestly think this is disrespectful towards Cucurella, imo he should be either 3 or 4th. He has been the best lb in the league by miles imo, Levi has his mistakes as always same as Jackson.
Back 4 must be Reece James, Colwill, Fofana and Cucurella with later inverting in midfield
CAICEDO IS THE REAL LEADER OF THIS TEAM, AND PALMER HAS THE MAGIC AND TALENT!!…
You’re right Caciedo is the nucleus. and yesterday game showed everyone what he means to the team
Nope I disagree, badiashille has
That's too harsh on Felix @George. He was the only one who was putting out his effort in the front line aside Mudryk.
I'm a Newcastle fan and have only seen Chelsea 5 or 6 times this season so take this with a pinch of salt but for me it would be.
1. Palmer
2. Jackson
3. Caiceido
4. Lavia
5. Madueke
6. Neto
7. Gusto/ James
The other 4 spots are all open.
Drop Madueke from the top 5 and replace with Cucurella and you are pretty spot on
You got it right with Colwil but then he is still the most reliable we have, that should tell you how bad chelsea is at the back today. Cucurella has been great too
Enzo Fernandez hasn't impressed me yet, I know his best is yet to come, and it will come. But your first eleven is perfect for me.
Damn number 1 left out of the thumbnail, real mystery that one😂
That should be the exact first 11 deployed by Maresca to annahilate man united this Sunday. Gusto to come in later for James. Veiga later for Cucurella. Nkunku later for Jackson. Mudryk for later for Neto.
Imagine if we got osimhen… Jackson would suffer so much in that B team
Don’t call me crazy but Tosin over Fofana. Tosin offers passing and is composed on the ball, just haven’t got consistent minutes with 1st team to prove his worth
Cole Palmer can't be marked out with Enzo Fernandez in the team because its only Enzo that knows how to locate palmer in that situation.
Cucu should be the man.
Gusto is a replacement g James when he is not available.
Sancho is best on the right wing as in reference to Dortmund.
With what I saw yesterday, I think Sancho is by miles our best goal keeper .
Cole Pamer, Caceido, lavia, Cowil Neto, Cuccurela, James, Gusto, Sancho, Madueke,
George, how can i talk to you personally. Thank you
Noni is a little too predictable. Id like to see him come off the bench and try Neto and Sancho on the wings, maybe find a way to get Nkuku in the starting 11.
Palmer, Caicedo, Reece and Cucurella for sure..
lavia only played 2 games and u lot gives him the ST graal. sancho had 3 consecutives good games and now is on the bench. i wont say he is n1 their until i see consistency
Gusto has been a monster for Chelsea.
sanchez, James forana, Cowill Cuccerella Casadio Lavia Neto Noni Palmer Jacko (No1 Palmer)
Starting XI
Palmer, Jackson, Caicedo, Lavia, Colwill, Cucurella, Neto, Sancho, Tosin, James, Sanchez
Couldn’t agree more. Can you explain why Tosin over Fofana because I’ve been saying this as well
Yep that's. Looks like the best team. Still disappointed from the Newcastle game. 👍 23:03
Andre Santos should take Enzo Fanandez's place.
I really can’t remember the last time I thought enzo played really well. Also agree each keeper is as bad the next how can we have 11 keepers and sign another one and all of them are mid or worse
Is navas better then Sanchez ? (Gk without club)
Only 4 - palmer , caicedo, cucu and colwell everyone is droppable
CUCURELLA should be 3rd
Palmer
Caicedo
Jackson
James
Colwill
Cucurella
Lavia
Madueke
Neto
Fofana
Sanchez
Really want nkunku to succeed and be In the team but Jackson can’t be dropped rn, and obviously he’s not getting in over cole Palmer. Could only really see him playing on the left like he did against Liverpool but then again that’s not his position.
Keeper is the key. And there are better options that Noni.
I think we just need a defense captain, some thiago silva/terry figure to manage/teach this other guys, and a proper striker wont do us any harm
Is good but I would swap Marc disasi and Enzo for romeo
Lavia needs to start every game as long as he is not injured
I agree with the selection except for James. Gusto for me. But that team is not premier league title winning potential.
I think petrovic is better than our two goalkeepers, and we need him in January.
The fact gusto ain’t in the top 3 is crazy, even with all the comments no one selects gusto, as much as I love Reece let’s be real gusto is currently above him
End product not just for gusto but joao felix
RJ defo 2nd if you’re ranking on actual levels, he has CP influence
Not all of us sighing when George asks about who we know our number one is😔
Moresca should have come with his Leicester City Keeper.
