Both Math and Mecca were rappers themselves, math more so on the battle tip. To critique and correct rappers would open themselves up to similar critique. Journalists have a professional objective to not impart their personal views but most in the music industry have little to no professional decorum. It's a free for all and makes these convos tricky because the music and real life situations blend to easily. And then you add the race layer to it and it becomes more complex.
