I worked my way out of poverty so I know what I am talking about! I don't ever forget where I am coming from. But I did go to college. School is good. No one can take your education away from you!

But he's probably earning good revenue, or soon will, and make enough to support a fairly independent lifestyle from UA-cam ad revenue if he's monetized thru YPP. These days a University degree is not the only way to get out of poverty, and the younger generations aren't limited by self-limiting views and the old tradìtional ways of wealth creation only by college education pathways. He has created a platform, a loyal fan base, puts out content they love, and he'll hit gold if he learns how to leverage monetization streams including sponsorships and partnerships with his content. Besides that, creators now have access to Super Chat donations, memberships and other monetization streams with only 500 subscribers. And he has exceeded that. If he continues to create his authentic Jamaican content, he won't be poor soon. The jamaican youtube commnity are very loyal and supportive. And we're assuming that the young man is poor. None of us knows that for sure. But you mean well, and you've given him good advice. Just be mindful that he's a creator and that's a valid, viable job these days. Best of all, he gets to do what he loves - fishing and cooking his catch and now sharing his skills as content to the world. He deserves a 👍. Video creation and getting noticed on UA-cam isn't as easy as it seems.
You have some good points! But suppose UA-cam close down tomorrow? Education opens up a person's mind! You think completely different. Something to fall back on! Knowledge is power! He will understand business deals better. It will make him more confident. I have a degree and looking back before college I was really lacking knowledge. Sometimes you hear interviews with certain people who have money but never went to school. Can't even give points to defend what they are talking about. Can't answer questions properly. I say you should take some of that money and go to school! Need to widen your vocabulary! You can't speak. Need that foundation.
Big shots also treat you differently when you have an education. I am a licensed health care professional and I have been in places where I was being spoken to a certain way and when they find out what I do their tone change. They realize they can't fool me.
