I pre ordered the book after your review. Indeed I bought the first three novels in the series. They are great fun. I trust your reviews, probably why I have just bought into The One Ring series. There are you and a few others whose judgement I trust. You can't buy everything and one would be a fool to want to. Thank you for your hard work and indeed entertainment. With best wishes.

I loved him. I think he still influences me to this day. He is in that sweet spot between art and commercial that so many of my favorite artists are. I’m sad he isn’t more well known

I'm starting to wonder if the PDF might be worth picking up just to mine for Call of Cthulhu house rules.

Very helpful review. As a Londoner, appropriately the owner of a coastguard hat that I could wear as a GM, I am tempted. That's an incredibly favourable summation you offer. I take your point on some of that art though. They're 'aving a giraffe.

lol - (re knowing how to run and play in London) I'm quite convinced there's more Americans in London than folks from Northern England!
I'm still looking forward to getting this one. The system simplifications you mentioned seem intuitive and sensible.
As always, many thanks for sharing the review.

It’s one of my favourite RPG’s at the moment. As a Runequest player I was worried that the slimmed down system would ruin things-far from it. Like you I think 8th Ed C of C will go this way. A good review and fair comment about some of the art

Is there a list of Jeff's "must-own" rpg recommendations? Just curious. I'm sure there are reviews I might have missed.

I normally mention if something is a must own for fans of certain genres or styles of games. Is there a particular sort of RPG you're looking for? I'll be happy to point you in the right direction. ~Jeff

@@Thegaminggang I'm a generalist at heart, but the weird world-building focused rpgs are my favorite. I'm also a sucker for steampunk/sci-fi crossovers. The Wildsea is my current jam. Anything come to mind in the same vein?

I've heard of The Wildsea but not familiar with it in any way so I can't give you a recommendation along its lines. ~ Jeff

Is it more Harry potter? Dresden Files or World of Darkness in style?

I would say, Dresden Files. It's urban fantasy noire. I'm sure The Dresden Files would have inspired Ben Arnovitch.
