one thing I like about the movie is the opening addition of them stopping in town, and the paranoia that anyone could come target u for whatever reason… like anyone that simply looks at you could wish death upon you and that’s just like so terrifying to me, why I hate going out sometimes.. our world is messed up… not everyone is normal
That's how I feel too. You know how horror fans are. They hate everything nowadays. I thought the movie was average. I'm curious to see chapters 2 & 3. But my thing is, I love how people are complaing about the couple in this movie making dumb decisions when literally every horror movie that exist has characters making dumb decisions. Kristen & James weren't really all that bright in the original film. People can hate Prey at Night all they want, but at least Kenzy and her brother actually put up a fight with them. Kristen & James were just used as rag dolls as much as I love the original Strangers film lol.
My theory is that chapter 1 and the original are happening in the same timeline. When the BF went to town for food, the girl was facetiming a friend, and she looked like the character from the original wearing white, and she had red lipstick.

my home was broken into while i was sleeping and alone. i believe my mother's spirit woke me up in time to confront the perpetrator and call 911. i was able to scare off the guy and the police arrived moments later. i am extremely grateful that my home invasion story ended well. the fear i felt didn't really hit me until later on in the day, and i was terrified of how it could have gone. like this movie, you don't know the motive of the people who invade your home. are they there to steal from you, hurt you, or kill you? you just don't know until it happens. thank you for another insightful take,Thomas - i appreciate your work!

I was always confused when pinup tells doll face “it’ll be easier next time” but I think we got our answer in this new film as the boyfriend tells pinup “they say the first kill is the hardest well this is my second” maybe during the og film the couple was doll faces first kill and that’s why
I'm pretty sure Shelly is the Pin-up girl stranger. You get a good look at her eyes and they look very similar. Her voice too; "because you're here" and "good tippers, good karma." Also, Ema Horvath is short and Pin-up is the shortest stranger when you see them all standing together. During the scene where they're under the house you can see Pin-up is wearing very thick platform shoes to make her taller and yet shes still the shortest. I have no idea who the other 2 are. I doubt Rudy is Scarecrow/MitM but who knows.
Wish more people saw it like this. It’s a reimagining! Yes the original is great! A staple of horror movies. But this is something else. And gotta respect and see where it goes.
Most likely, the protagonist of this film will become one of the strangers in the future due to the trauma caused by the three invaders. This would explain the origin and "motivation" of the strangers, People traumatized by invaders who become other invaders.
Imagine if the writers took an original approach to this and showing them why it’s always Tamra. So my theory is all three of these people are child hood friends, taking care of each other because their parents are not available and they grew up broken. Maybe someone took all three of them in and raised them until they were teens, meanwhile they were robbing, fighting and so on, making them more depraved even in a positive environment with someone taking care of them. Then, one day all three kill the person taking care of them like they did in the first. Her name was Tamra. Over time their methods evolve while recreating their first kill over and over and over again. Always asking for Tamra. See how easy that is.
I’m my opinion, this is the prequel to the other movies due to I believe they are renting from the “strangers” . I believe this is the childhood home they were risen in. First clue: the girls suggest they are both younger in this movie through physical height, voices, and the ability of one girl playing the piano so well looked like a memory of playing that piano. Second clue: they seemed to know that the fuse box was located in the closet which nobody would know of except them because it is familiar territory. Third clue: at 12:04 , as the audience we are used to the drawing of these words in red on doors and etc, but I truly think the audience was tricked in this scene and really is looking at one of the girls old rooms as a child drawing on the door . Fourth clue: the whole town seems to know the man who” hunts “lives in this airbnb .. I believe the town is aware that this family does hunt .. for people .. and when the couple gets stabbed only once it seems so amateur and not gruesome compared to the other movies where they had more experience .. this I think will uncover more in chapter two.. both their first kills gone wrong and more about their past lives before asking if Tamara was home.. what do ya think?

All or atleast some of the towns ppl know about them and what they do to any "strangers" that come into their town, and are complicit bc they are scared or don't want to become victims themselves. Kinda like the town in far cry 5. And the way pin up girl acted when shotgun was to her head makes me think she doesn't want to do this but was indoctrinated and forced into it. Like they are very beta to sack head. Wer gonna find out some of the towns ppl tried to help them but in the end modeling petsch will join them. Idk.
It's cause the movie was bad... if you saw the og you already know everything that is going to happen in the film. Also the remade seems weren't even done well compared to the original and some of the acting was pretty questionable.
The Strangers are the nice young couple. They’re the ones from somewhere else in a small town. The killers enjoy the game and the chase. They knew the couple was staying there. They knew those woods and set many traps.
It would be interesting if we could see the strangers deal with the wrong target like a military veteran and a sexual assault victim who trained in mixed martial arts skills something like that

I think the plot twist in this movie was hinted at when the male character Ryan states ( this isn’t my first kill)…. What’s the chances he killed someone’s called Tamara to link this all together….
These strangers methods are very similar to those guys in vacancy masked people terrorizing their victims before killing them take their time and like to bang on the door and stuff but obviously these strangers are mobile going after their prey in vacancy they stay at that hotel til guests come and when they get that couple that's having trouble in their relationship its time to play oh wait the other two are like that but this one seems like they live in that town waiting for someone to come visit the town and stay at that bnb then time to play just like vacancy lol

I just want a direct sequel where UT picks up from that ending and follow them home if they have a home love to see their faces love to see what they do in their everyday lives what's their other hobbies do they act like normal people like a switch they're normal then when they see target its like those scenes in kill bill everything turns red zoom in on eyes and that noise lol especially doll face I wanna see her unmask more cause she looks hot she unscrewed the bulb next to the door UT the bright streetlights behind her lights up her face so you can see jet fave basically and she's hot plus after seeing this bunch of times I wanted to see so I looked up the actors and yeah dam she's hot think its same actress they use in second one test recasted new one all new cast lol
