Jimmy didn't win. He changed the rules after Joezach won to try to salvage a win. This was a farce on Jimmy and Jake trying to steal the win of the season after the rules were set ahead of the season.

@Crimfit no. The difference is that the Braves knew going in that winning the regular season was not the championship. But Guts season 1 was decided from the beginning that it was gonna be league table like European soccer. No playoff, just most points wins it all. Any changes to the rules or format get applied to the following season. So this crag-off is just the equivalent of the NBA in-season tournament or the pre-season NIT.

The CragBrag is the FA Cup of Playin Guts. Like in 2022, Liverpool won the FA Cup, but Man City were definitively the Premier League Champions. Its a side cup, and that's the only way I'm accepting that it has any relevancy at all lol.

I too am a recipient of the Presidential Physical Fitness Award. I don't remember what exactly I did to earn it, but my entire 6th grade glass earned it so it can't be that impressive.
Oh man, when I was in school it was really hard to get the presidential. I could never do the “V” sit and reach, but i slayed at everything else. Usually only one or two kids would get the presidential award. There was a red patch that you’d get, I forget what it was called, but it was a step down from the presidential. I only ever got the presidential in fourth grade because when I did the V sit a bent my knees and the PE teacher didn’t see so I got the four inches past my toes. I know you had to do so many sit ups, so many pull ups, you had to run the mile in a certain amount of time, you had to do the V-sit and reach, the rope climb I think, I forget what else.

@@kradz5172 what year did you go to elementary school? I was in during the late 80s and early 90s. I graduated highschool in 2000, so I guess it was 90-94 I would’ve been doing these for the awards. I know I got the red patch every year save for the one blue one I got.

I feel like the "Crag Brag" was thought up at the last second by Jim and Jake because they were upset JoeZack was running away with the season.
Next season, they should do the "Crag Brag" with the championship being a best of three, with the season winner getting an automatic bye into the championship, while 2nd and 3rd do a wild card game to determine who plays in the championship.

Coming in first in the season and all you get is the first round pick is kinda lame. If you want playoffs it should be this: If you're 1st in the season you only need to win 1 episode of the playoffs to be first. If you are 2nd in the season, you need to win 2 playoff episodes. If you are 3rd in the season, you need to win 3 playoff episodes. Makes the regular season matter but could lead to some good drama

How about this. Crag brag like usual, except instead of the regular season winner getting just the first pick, they also get the third pick. So the regular season winner has a greater chance at winning, but an upset is still possible. Third place would somehow get rewarded next season if he can predict the winner so they can stay invested. I get the need for a playoffs, but the regular season doesn’t really matter in the current format.

Tweaking the rules during season in one thing, but adding a winner-takes-all championship game AFTER the season has completed is moving the goalposts after a goal and is beyond the pale. Justice for JoeZack

Scoring suggestion: The game already has scoring. You get however many points your kid gets. It isn't all about first, second, and third. It also matters by HOW MUCH you win or lose. Makes for more trade options.

I have to echo the sentiment that it's less than above board that the entire season format was decided on without mention of a postseason, then the CragBrag was slapped on after JoeZack won. It should have been established ahead of time. Also, I feel like there must be a better postseason system than it coming down to one episode, even if the season winner does get the 1st pick. This episode was a great example of why. JoeZack actually made a good pick who barely lost, but because of one close loss their S1 domination means nothing? That's a bit silly.
That being said, it was a great win by Jimmy taking a risk on red player on the smaller side. But I think this should have been S2E1.
Lastly, I feel so bad for Jake but at this point you just have to laugh. Even when the purple player fell to him Chris had a historically bad performance, even finishing last on the crag which is basically unheard of for purple. It's like Jake goes 30 years back in time to curse his own players. Hopefully he'll have some better luck in S2.

This series has become my new favorite sporting event. 41.8 vs. 41.9 is the stuff of legends. And Toilet Bowl Record is about the hardest I have laughed in my entire life. Also Joezack got hosed. You can't create Superbowls/Kragbrags out of thin air.
