Background: Ryder, whose real name is Lance Wilson, is one of the original members of the Grove Street Families (GSF) gang in Los Santos. He's known for his distinctive appearance, including his green bandana and a unique hairstyle. Ryder is a close childhood friend of the game's protagonist, Carl "CJ" Johnson, and his brother, Sweet.
Personality: Ryder is portrayed as impulsive, unpredictable, and often erratic in his behavior. He is known for his street-smart, rough demeanor, and has a penchant for using colorful and often humorous language. Fate: Ryder's storyline ultimately culminates in a climactic confrontation with CJ. Depending on the player's choices, Ryder can meet different fates, but his character arc remains one of betrayal and moral ambiguity.
Legacy: Ryder is remembered as one of the game's most enigmatic characters, and his actions have sparked debates and theories among GTA SA fans regarding his true motivations and loyalty.
In summary, Ryder is a character in GTA San Andreas who starts as a loyal member of the Grove Street Families but becomes embroiled in betrayal and criminal activities, making him a central figure in the game's complex and engaging storyline.

Ryder’s betrayal was made last minute they said the voice actor off Ryder said they did not need him no more
so how can you say that when dialogue says ''smoke better be right about this''
@@LScentralcould be talking about anything your just another fan with an opinion you got no right making this youtube account your not a spokesperson for one of our childhood games just stfu and delete this channel
You didn't watch the video bro....

I just watched the introduction movie for the first time yesterday, and what I got from the conversation between Ryder and Smoke, is that he was letting Smoke know that he's not betraying the Grove even if he had a gun to his head. 🤷🏾♂️
That doesn’t follow with the unused dialogue when he says “Smoke better be right about this man” and if that were so why didn’t he do anything about it? 🤔 still doesn’t explain the missions working with SBF when they clearly have beef.
Come on man move
@@moovehomie MOVE
In the beginning they never targeted Ryder and big smoke leaving the funeral
Ryder still blast on them during drive thru and drive by
@@FlaqkoGTA that's cuz sweet was there also OMG flaqko hi but ryder was always supposed to be a traitor.
From what I can see. RockstarGames just rushed without giving any depth to Ryder’s betrayal. Ryder acted the way he acted at beginning because he was upset CJ left Los Santos. As stated, CJ & Ryder were childhood friends so Ryder constantly being mad at CJ in the beginning was understandable. But everything after just doesn’t make sense. CJ doesn’t even mention him in the Green Sabre mission, only Big Smoke. R* probably just didn’t care about Ryder’s character enough.
I think he had plans to betray them but rockstar didn’t know how exactly they wanted him involved because let’s be real most of the spots were filled
@@LScentral True. I honestly just wished they didn’t have him killed. There should’ve been a point where he explains to CJ how he was manipulated.
@@LScentral it's because ryder betrayel was supposed to be revelead only on photo opportunity! that's why cj's screams surprised at ryder... they did the thing all out of place... they decided to put ryder quiet into the CS with BIG SMOKE 2 catch 2 at once i gues..
HEY FAMILY YOU MAKE ME THINK ABOUT THIS MORE AND MORE. You really hit solid points. I’m going to follow up with you.
Interesting video, in my opinion there isn’t really a definitive answer to whether he was always gonna betray from the beginning. I’ve seen evidence to support both viewpoints (you have good pieces of that in your video) and I honestly cannot be sure I fall on either side. But maybe your title is accurate and I’m just clueless lol
The definitive answer is that he is a traitor
you ryder's fanboy smh@@hofnarrtheclown
I never fanboyed LS Central, when he said Ryder wasn't a traitor, I still fought him cuz I've always believed this and it's THE TRUTH. So please get your facts straight, you disingenuous dense mother****er@@hofnarrtheclown
@@hofnarrtheclown - fanboy
Ryder's betrayal was planned from the start? I've played GTA SA multiple times, and this theory sounds stupid.
it's 100% true and makes sense that Ryder was a traitor, I'm glad it finally came out.
It's not fake information though you just stuck on the idea of him being some grove st king@@hofnarrtheclown
@@hofnarrtheclown this is not fake info it's real, you just think he's a gsf king or some bs like los said above.
I'll stick to canon, a traitor is a traitor unless Rockstar Games makes another 3D Universe game to show the closure on the events before GTA:SA even when it doesn't happen in Los Santos cus people keep crying that Ryder ain't a traitor which might be. Yea it sucks Ryder's character ain't finished since R* rushed his screen time then get CJ to find out later.
In Photo Opportunity how did CJ already know Ryder is in the Loco Syndicate? He showed up out of the blue afaik so even tho it sucks to see Ryder as a traitor, he still did at least canonically.
I also believe he was supposed to betray GSF without examining the evidence. The conversations between Ryder and everyone else, especially with Smoke are very telling.
@@hofnarrtheclownwhat do you make of the conversations between Ryder and Smoke? I’ve observed that in the beginning, Ryder and Smoke were not shot at. His first words were “You are just a liability CJ!” When CJ dropped by to see him the first time, he was so jumpy and standoffish, forgot that CJ was his homie. The infamous Drive Thru mission, Smoke is low-key threatening Ryder to keep quiet twice and eventually he submits. His constant negativity? Remember in Reuniting the families he left with Smoke? How Tenpenny and Polanski are comfortable entering and making demands in Ryder and Smoke’s house, but never Sweet’s or the Johnson house? They have to constantly corner CJ to even speak to him? But that same caution is never practiced around Smoke and Ryder? There’s a couple of clues if you read in between the lines.
@@hofnarrtheclownread between the lines bro but I guess not everyone likes to. The argumentative Ryder, backing out of an argument? Now that’s news. He never backs down. CJ was never the head of the gang, he wasn’t responsible for its fall, Sweet is, so that anger should’ve been directed at Sweet too but he’s very upset at CJ in almost every mission, even behind his back because it complicates their plan to kill Sweet. Literally, the evidence of his oncoming betrayal is right there in the storyline but you guys refuse to believe it just because he was helping GSF. As for the Los Specu… mission, literally doesn’t count because coming by could’ve meant anything. He could’ve been in the neighbourhood or the house and even around Sweet, Tenpenny is careful. He never made any demands, only gave information. Even when you play chess bro, you never straight up get the king, he’s heavily protected. You manipulate the chessboard until the king is vulnerable.
@@hofnarrtheclownone more thing… in the beginning, the Balla car also followed Sweet, so he was targeted.
He pulled that out of thin air lol the introduction was made at an unknown point
Cool but last time i checked Ryder hates ballas i mean the dude literally beat up a teacher cause he was wearing purple
he loves SBF though.
Wait a minute... ain't the Seville Boulevard Families colors supposed to be dark green? Ryder is the only one wearing dark green out of the other main grove street members. Could he really have been Seville Boulevard the whole game? Why else would he be wearing the dark green instead of the green that other grove street members wear?
Nice shooeees homie
No dude seville was a new off brand set so NO maybe u could say he switched sets if anything
@@hofnarrtheclown but not as long as grove st tho everybody was original grove st which why i said he couldn’t have been seville from the start cus THEY ALL was grove st from the start he most likely switched affiliation seeming how grove st wasnt on nun anymore

You don’t go from beating up teachers for wearing Ballas colors to teaming up with them. Ryder was never supposed to be a traitor.
I think y’all misunderstand he’s working with SBF more so
@@LScentral he was with some Ballas in that Green Sabre mission cutscene and when they have the meeting where CJ’s taking pictures, for some examples…also seeing as Ryder was also just as mad with CJ for leaving them behind as Sweet the only one that didn’t care was Smoke…
we all know he wasn't planned to be a busta in the beginning. But they changed it in the end. The developers did all they could with the resources they had to make us feel that Ryder was a busta all along. To this day I feel he could've been such a good character if he didn't betray
Ryder wasn't betraying Grove Street, he was the most loyal O.G , all Ryder's mission benefit Grove Street, while Smokes mission benefit him and have nothing to do with the Grove
Nbs and in the end they made it seem like we was suppose to care about smoke’s betrayal more than Ryders took bout 4 floors of enemies to kill smoke ryder go out so easily just a small swarm of enemies and no deep talk with him but wana hve a deep talk with smoke like Fxxk smoke nbs im more sad about ryder

Is there some story for LB, i have theory that maybe that's code name for some Ballas because CJ as high ranking GSF member didn't know about him and Ryder was traitor
Not sure if Ryder ALWAYS was supposed to Ryder betray the grove but in saying that
1. Rockstar designed this character dumb as hell as all of his missions contradicts this amongst countless other things.
2. Ryder been with grove since a child and would die for the grove why tf would he betray.
3. Rockstar was on crack when deciding to add Ryder to smokes plan.
4. It doesnt benefit the story whatsoever and is dumb story telling from rockstar in this one. ROCKSTAR ARE BUSTERS

They need to make a movie
ok listening to your theory... what stopped big smoke and ryder from killing cj and sweet with emmits AK???? sounds good until you get to the point on , why didn't they do it then? sounds like everything was going according to plan, then he just gives cj the AK? i think maybe you overlooked something unless i missed something
U need to make a movie
God bless
