In the context of Mega Man X3, while Volt Catfish may have my favorite theme, it still isn't saying much compared to the rest of the soundtrack. This proves my exact issue with that game's music (particularly the instruments) AND makes a good song sound fucking awesome in the process
I'm fine with the instruments, but what kills it for me is how forgettable most of it is. Why is it forgettable? Because much of almost any given song is just the same 1 or 2 notes being played in a row. It's so flat and repetitive. X1's soundtrack has more note variation; it's so much more lively.
@@reversalmushroom Strange since the intro stage, neon tiger, dr cains, and doppler stage 1 themes are all extremely memorable. I can agree some of the songs are too repetitive and annoying but definitely not forgettable. A good example of forgettable is most "ambient" music tracks in games. Because there isn't much to remember.
@@captaincommando9839 The only 1 of those songs you listed I actually like are the Doppler stages. I think the intro stage theme pales in comparison to the 1st 2. Another issue the songs have is that a lot of them are short, which adds to the soundtrack's repetitive nature. But listen to Armored Armadillo and then Tunnel Rhino. Sting Chameleon and then Neon Tiger. Boomer Kuwanger and then Blast Hornet. Launch Octopus and then Crush Crawfish (after the strong intro). X1's songs just have so much more going on. I'm not saying there are 0 good songs, but X1 is just consistently fantastic.
@@reversalmushroom As someone who hates X1 soundtrack outside of the intro, Sting Chameleon, Spark Mandrill, Storm Eagle and the Sigma stages while loving X3 except for the first Doppler stage, this was funny to read. The only soundtrack I dislike more is the X4 soundtrack, with X8 having some problems too but still standing head and shoulders over X1. The only Armoured Armadillo theme I like is the Maverick Hunter X remix. X1's constant metallic banging makes my head ring, seriously. I don't know what were they thinking or how people can stand it. Launch Octopus is the worst example. Most of them don't fit the stages either, especially two of the three I like. Nothing in Spark Mandrill's stage justifies having a theme this epic, while in Gravity Beetle's stage you board a flying airship, justifying the epicnes. Just shows how subjective music is.
Excellent work! One of my favorites from X3. Sounds great with the X1 instruments, but I think a lot of the pitch bending lends more to an X2 flavor, especially with higher sustained notes. Not necessarily a bad thing for those with an affinity for the X2 sound.
I gotta say this is better than the original, because in the SNES version you never hear the kick drums along the crash cymbal samples. I think it was the way they managed the 8-channel hardware...
ah the X1 guitar is so nice works well with this song

It may be subtle, but the X1 overdrive guitar is much easier on the ears compared to X2 and X3
in my opinion x1 and 3s overdrive guitar is better than x2
@@ChillyVR_ X2 shares the majority of its instruments with X3.
X1’s soundfont is nearly completely different from both.
Volt catfish is my favorite theme from megaman x3
Catfish has the best theme of X3, and this is such a good version. Nice job.
That X1 Guitar never gets old.
One of my favorite x3 songs and you perfected it! This kind of thing really is your Forte. Thanks for all The Treble you go through for us!
Excellent~! It's a great theme on it's own, but this version is charming.
This would be the theme of the unused Maverick shown in the game pro video promotion for MegaMan X lol!
This song desperately needed bends in the solo and I'm so glad you added them!

With the MMX 1 sound. It could be a Sigma stage track
Better than the original
*I ❤️ THIS SONG!!!*
Another hit! 🔥
That's amazing
I don't know why Capcom ever ditched the X1 sound font. It's so much cleaner...
This sounds tooo authentic bro, nice work
First. Yo instant banger
I love this! Now if only it was longer.
Nice >:)
