When the pandemic started, I received a text from my brother and all it said was "Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil-"Sorry"-grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over"
In the original 1968 Night of the Living Dead movie a ass of a boyfriend taunts his girlfriend at a cemetery when she get's scared. He says "They're coming to get you Barbara". There's a call back to that one in this when Shawn is on the phone with his mom and his friend says "We're coming to get you Barbara".
I feel like I'm always hanging around saying "What? You haven't seen this?" This is the movie that made my son want to direct films when he was eight. True story.
One of my favorite bits of trivia about this movie is when Edgar Wright (director/co-writer) was asked why they decided to have slow zombies he said because he didn't believe death was an energy drink lol.
And you must remember.. hunting permits are even hard to get in England. Unlike the u.s... unless someone has been in the brittish military.. the vast majority of citizens there have never fired a weapon.
This movie walks an amazing razor's edge of balancing horror with comedy without ever becoming a satire, but still being really funny. The only other movie that straddles different genres more masterfully would be jojo rabbit, i think.
8:48 That is a cricket bat. See: Casey Jones vs Raphael. Its design is based on the ancient broadsword. Yes: cricketers are today's knights and cricket matches are today's sieges.
Glad you liked it This movie deserves to be re-watched many times. It is so funny you just don't realize how smart it is. I discover new things with every re-watch. Just now I realized that in the end when the TV says something about zombies being perfect for menial, mindless jobs, the zombie clerk is the kid that worked with Shaun in the Hi-fi store in the beginning.
It's scary how this movie from the start shows us that we already live in a zombified world. I mean each morning when I'm outside with my dog on a walk I meet the same people. rushing to work or doing chores around their houses etc. same tired faces on the bus of people trying to survive another day. It's a clever way to start a zombie movie. If I may suggest another movie with a similar sense of humor: Cockneys vs Zombie from 2012.
I could be wrong..but I think this lead male actor also leads in 💥... District 9... I'm not much on sci-fi but was highly entertained...give it a watch... 🌿🌿🌿
Note - canonically Dianne (Liz's best friend) who went into the zombie horde wielding David's severed leg to get vengeance survived!

Shaun didn't notice because the walk was routine and he was hungover.
Such a clever movie. I wish more reactors would give it a try

It does all that and also makes a cultural statement (zombies and the living share similar traits).
"I wouldn't use a paddle."
It's a cricket bat, so the equivalent of a baseball bat in the US.
Awesome Movie and Work Bro, Thanks 👍👍👍 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸

Dogs can look up. Pigs can't.
Thanks for the reaction Dawn of the Dead (2004) is my all-time favorite zombie film.
The best reacts! The cornetto trilogy is legendary!
Это классный фильм, смотрел раз 10.❤

One of the funniest and craziest comedy horror movies ever made!
Pretty much a perfect film imo.
All that covid taught me is that if a zombie apocalypse does happen we are all royally screwed.
Seen this many many times and still somehow keep noticing new stuff. Opening scene laying out the entire plot of the film is epic

Awesome
I remember watching this at the cinema, first film I snuck into 😂 no idea how I made it in, I was 12 at the time
Great zombie movie. Return of the living dead is the best. It where "BRAINS" came from. I'll put it this way, smart zombies.
Great reaction please watch the trilogy
Fun reaction :)
Hot Fuzz next!
Why do some reaction videos have an audible hissing sound every time there's an edit?
I could be wrong..but I think this lead male actor also leads in
💥... District 9...
I'm not much on sci-fi but was highly entertained...give it a watch...
🌿🌿🌿
That’s Sharlto Copley but they do look alike. district 9 is a good ass movie
👍
Can you please react to the movie "Traffic" from 2000. With Michael Douglas and a sleuth of good actors with many twists and turns ? Thank you
NICE!! Lets goooooo!! :D
Does anyone actually like david? I was hoping theyd throw him to the geeks as a distraction very early on
A true heel sometimes has to have his/her complete arc. When he literally tried to kill Shaun, I knew he was zombie food for sure.
