If we could watch the creation of the universe in 4 minutes, the opening would be the perfect sound track. Strength, might, suspense, drama, and glory. Supreme beauty. Bach was, indeed, a God-sent genius.
That eighth movement is just heavenly! It feels like what you might hear when you finally see heaven's gates opening for you and realize everything is going to be okay.
He almost always did it. In his Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248, every air except Nr. 31 "Schließe, mein Herze" is from another cantata. With the choruses ist's the same. Only Nr. 43 "Ehre sei dir Gott gesungen", every big chorus isn't plagiarized. Sometimes he was a lazy composer...
@@felixduerr428 I guess the modern equivalent could be more like a concert setlist, where they repeat the songs. Mass in b minor would be like a "best of" abum.

Bach really spend a good 4 minutes to show off his organ and composition skills at the beginning.
His organ skill is showed in organ Triosonata rather in this only manualiter composition.

What else can one say? The mighty genius of J S Bach.

I think the Sinfonia sounded much more like a concerto.
The organ solo sounds like the preludio in E major
It is adapted from that exact composition - Bach recycling his themes.
@@TheOneAndOnlyZeno he also recicled it in Bwv 120.2, but with no trumpets nor timpani

Wow. Bach plagiarized himself.
You'd be surprised how often he did that.

I have heard something that sounds very similar to the second movement in another Bach piece, I cannot remember where I heard it.
The Dona nobis pacem (final movement) of the Mass in B Minor
@@TheOneAndOnlyZenoThank you.
Is that Ton Koopman playing the organ? I think I recognise his style.
It is actually Netherlands's Bach Society's Organist Leo van Doeselaar
Ah! The Glenn Gould of the Organ world. He is an excellent organist and I love his style of performance.
