Even if Herbalife wasn't a pyramid scheme, it makes no sense to become a distributor. If you're going to sell "health" products and recruit others to work for you, just start your own damn business and keep all your profits.
+MelkorHimself that's always the ideal way but you still have to supply said products. That's exactly where companies like Herbalife come in handy for aspiring entrepreneurs. On top of that, starting a business the old fashioned way is always much more expensive.

One thing that first made me concerned about Herbalife’s integrity and nature as a pyramid scheme is that in every video, conference, lecture or class the company has made, the business structure, amount of potential income and how much someone can make is always discussed but the product is always presented secondary to it. That’s a common trait among pyramid schemes, they advertise money making and apparent profitability for their participants over what they actually sell.
How can you justify selling a product you don't or wouldn't use yourself? What a scam! Wake up!
they actually have to use the products themselves, there is a minimum they have to spend every month, which is expected to be spent on product distributor uses. basically with their membership, they get an initial 15% and that's how the company makes the most money - by distributer using their products.

I was a distributor in the early 1990s.. I loved the products,, they Worked. However, i joined to get the product discount.
Many people did the same as you. That would be the only reason to hop on board and maybe make a couple of sales just for fun (not financial gain).

It was a real pyramid scheme, I was part of this huge network, we had to take a certain amount of goods that produced by the company initially upon the joining date, then it had a minimum order quantity that as a distributor who are required to take on a monthly or quarterly basis, in order to be operating in that field, as a result some of the distributors accumulated a huge load of goods at the end of the year, which in turn we need to find others to join the network in order to sell these goods out and cash in, that was how basically this giant network works in a way that exactly showed in the videos provided by bill..... bill was telling the truth.....
Every business that uses this model is a scam for those who become a distributor. Lots of them in Australia, although I think people are smarter and realise that you’re working for them, not yourself.

The only thing that Herbalife can do in this situation is go global to places that may not get wind of their business model....this can only be sustained for so long. It terrible when people take advantage of others like this. If this company did not base their profits on those below them recruiting and having to buy required monthly bulk products to "sell" to their customers, then this might be considered a legitimate business. You should be primarily relying on the sell of the products and not the products of the people you recruited and when they buy what they have to sell. Technically, the only people being entrusted to sell the product are those at the bottom.
I called this joker a few months back to see if he wanted to destroy Herbalife not from the pyramid scheme, but from a health destroying element..... he never returned my call

The markets? Although publicly traded, the stock is owned by institutional investors, therefore devaluing the stock would hurt their own bank accounts. The stock price doesn't reflect organic market demand.

You cant expect cheap price & get very effective, high quality expensive sourced products for just about any thing in this world can you? Eg The shakes actually save you money monthly cos they are complete nutritious meal replacements & you dont need to spend on other health products or gadgets to help you lose weight. You can get discount when you sign up as a distributor even if you not planning to do any sales.

Also- British speakers pronounce the letter H on it's own like "Haych", making a "Huh" sound at the beginning, while Americans say "aych" with no Huh sound at the beginning. I think this difference in the way the letter H is pronounced is likely related to- or entirely the reason for- the different pronunciation of the word Herb in the two countries

Herbal Life takes advantage of well intentioned... But also stupid and somewhat greedy people. Don't buy something in bulk if you can't sell it. How about being an adult and get the "I'm going to be rich" fantasy out of your head and do some research to see if this is actually a profitable business venture.
For those who aren’t aware, Herbalife is an example of multilevel marketing. Herbalife is a well known name brand. Their products work. Personally, I don’t use Herbalife, but my next door neighbor is a distributor: Basically, Herbalife streamlines the business to the public through a membership. The profits are shared with everyone... from the highest peak to $1 per week at the lowest level.

Thank goodness Herbalife won and continues to go from strength to strength! `the products are exceptional so it is NOT a 'pyramid scheme' = nobody is forced to buy any product they don't need. Herbalife gives the distributor a chance to have a great full or part time business. A business depends on the effort put into it & the whiners are usually the people who don't stick around & work hard enough. 42 years & over 90 countries - I think if this was a 'pyramid scheme' it would have been closed down a long time ago. More harm has been done by this greedy lot trying to bring them down......
