I watch these videos and get angry that our political leaders are heading us down the path of conflict. I love seeing how everyone is so friendly and generous.
@ctbadger i feel like videos like this make it clear that our govt keeps making propaganda to get us to dislike china and chinese people but their government obviously isnt, seems like the info they get about us on the news doesnt cause them to be scared or adverse to us in any way but them begging our political leaders to not go to war against them
You are so right! In my life I've had many wonderful Chinese and Iranian friends, and it is frustrating that our leaders (and, yes, theirs) feel the need to periodically rattle the sabers (or worse) like adolescent boys. We all know who suffers if it comes to war, and it's probably not those leaders! 👿
If you take most of the leaders of nations out of the equation (politicians/influential donors) you are left with very few select 'evil' people or groups in the world. The issue is those people/groups are all you hear about because it sells/keeps international conflict. Just how the politicians (and frankly the money) want it to be. More conflict or perceived conflict=more ability to control the general populace. I mean, in America, we see this all the time. Take Nancy Pelosi (a lady who has made her money from insider trading via her husband---net worth of 120 million as a career politician) telling people how bad Donald Trump is (someone who has made his money through inheritance/exploiting/conning others). Two terrible people that have spent the majority of the past 8 years telling others how terrible the other is. That's a small microcosm of the issues that are created in the US and carry on worldwide. Money is the root cause of evil. It's never been more telling.
It moves me deeply to see you with your family in your wife’s home region and celebrating the culture so reverently! Bridging human cultures is the best, and communication is the way to do it!
I lived in Shanghai for half a year some time ago. Also went visiting Xian. Even though I didn't speak the language I felt treated very similar. Very nice and welcoming locals.
16:23 I watch most of Xiaoma's content on youtube. I've never seen his family before! Love to you and you're whole family. You have helped me encourage my daughters to study Mandarin years ago, and they're still learning.
hey Xiaoma, hope you will stay in China longer and I'd like to take you and your family around some mazing local food delicacies in Beijing. good trip!
By watching this I can't tell with words how much respect you're getting by talking their language (dialect), I'm amazed by this and they all seem to be so happy when talking with you! Keep doing what you are doing, I highly respect your stuff and videos! :)
I'm glad people like you are making videos like this. When we open our minds and learn a new language, the people of that country are immediately more relatable. It's not just an "us" vs "them". In a small way, this might help connect us better with one another.
Lived in Beijing for 3 years from 06-09 and I can count on one hand the amount of people that 'hated america'. More than anything they were just curious and scared of a conflict. Please make sure we all separate a countries citizens from their governments! Farthest west I got was Linfen, and everyone thought I was Russian for some reason. I did feel like Brad Pitt though. People mid-wedding came over and asked me to join their marriage pictures lol. Im so jealous of your ability to communicate. I could listen ok, but speaking was hard. I never could master the four tones. And reading/writing? Impossible lol.
Bingo, important to separate civilians from the government. I've had that experience in every country I have been to that the US labeled as a travel risk.
@@noahmaas1670 Some places really are a travel risk, I recommend to avoid going to Egypt for the pyramids, thats for sure. But 90% of the time you'll be just fine. Iran and Turkey are great examples of this. Some of the safest places on Earth but because of their governments they get a very bad rap, but the people are so so so so nice.
so funny. u yourself accusing citizen couldnt differ between goverment and citizen. is only the western propaganda that wants their citizen to hate china and their communism. Even the communist system is evolving. if communism is a failure how china can grow that strong ? in real life theres so much diff perspective , just because one do not agree with the other doesnt means they have to fight or argue with them.
and also china goverment always encouraging communications with the foreigner instead of stopping one or another . they have a system that u or me might not familiar with but it is what it is , who to judge right and wrong . china did not even invade a single country in the modern era like the europeans or americans but they get more hatred than them. funny isnt it ?
So pleased you are revisiting China. Even 2nd class seats on Chinese fast trains are a comfortable step up from what I'd expected. I'll add that even with my extremely limited language skills, Chinese friendliness and hospitality is ever-present and wonderful to experience. I can't wait to return, myself.
It’s always so beautiful to see how borders and barriers quickly fade when people openly engage with the people, with/in the culture and/or language of that which they visit! Humans want to interact! Want to! In a peaceful way! ❤
One thing we can all learn from this video...our countries may be different and our government may be at odds..but every day people, are just everyday people, who like making friends and coming together. That goes for more than just China and America too. Keep that in mind when your prejudice of government polices creep into how you see every day citizens. Its often not connected to the people themselves. We are all victims of our governments on some level. Really great video. Made me think a lot and really appreciate the kindness of strangers to a foreigner from a country they may not hear the best stuff about. ❤

I feel like Americans definitely need to see more videos like this. Majority of our media demonizes China and Chinese citizens as well which is absurd when those citizens are just normal people like us. ❤
Oh for sure. I believe everyone needs to understand that the media demonizes lots of countries, including the US. We all need to respect every country as every country has their own great citizens. We need to stop learning stereotypes about other countries.
My thoughts exactly. Just typed this nearly verbatim before seeing that you already hit the nail on the head. COVID especially did a number on the perception of China, and somehow this video felt almost healing to watch.
I am not gonna lie. I have seen many UA-cam videos of American in China and the Chinese were all kind and positive. However it is the media and politics that are always criticizing china. People need to choose humanity over propaganda.

You mean American political leaders. They do it so they can get some goverment programs going that will put money into their pockets.
Great comment, so true
15:20 Has to be the best part of this LOL Was not expecting that
lol that was hilarious
WTF 😭😭😭😭
Yeah I want the translation on that interaction lol.
Lmao I wasn’t even paying attention to the convo Xiaoma was having, was busy looking at the background
So confused, he even came back xD
Oh my god his wife is a knockout. I've literally never seen a man who's won harder in life than this guy. Dude deserves every bit of kindness he gets
Just speaking their dialect so much good will is fostered. So beautiful 🙏🏼❤
It moves me deeply to see you with your family in your wife’s home region and celebrating the culture so reverently! Bridging human cultures is the best, and communication is the way to do it!
My man been sweating all day there but what a beautiful experience and with his child. I love traveling. Good blessing
You have helped me encourage my daughters to study Mandarin years ago, and they're still learning.
always amazing to see the power of language and how it immediately breaks down barriers. Never gets old to watch.
Bro, your weight loss is INSANE! Congratulations!
Was just rewatching old videos and see you uploaded im so happy! Love seeing you in china
hey Xiaoma, hope you will stay in China longer and I'd like to take you and your family around some mazing local food delicacies in Beijing. good trip!
Taiwan is a free independent country! 🇹🇼👍❤🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼
How sweet of you to offer that!! This is what nations should do! Just be kind to each other and enjoy and respect everyone’s cultures!
you're a great person
By watching this I can't tell with words how much respect you're getting by talking their language (dialect), I'm amazed by this and they all seem to be so happy when talking with you!
Keep doing what you are doing, I highly respect your stuff and videos! :)
This makes me miss Xi'an so much, I wish I could've spoken enough to chat with people when I was there, I have so much respect for you!
Man, i really miss Shaanxi. Lived there for many years and this brings back a lot of nice memories. Thanks!
What a beautiful community
It is great to see you raising your children with the respect for both of the cultures they represent.
Love it. Speaking the language is like a super power. Look how much respect you get with the locals. Great video.!
I'm glad people like you are making videos like this. When we open our minds and learn a new language, the people of that country are immediately more relatable. It's not just an "us" vs "them". In a small way, this might help connect us better with one another.
China is so beautiful and so much hospitable people. I love it so much and wish I could go and learn Chinese there
this is my favourite episode of your channel thus far. everyone was so funny and friendly, what a great look around. thank you.
That man that offered you food was so sweet that goes to show there are nice and wonderful people out there
The Chinese people are so hardworking and nice people. Love from UK
“You’re so beautiful”
“Do you have a wife?”
I know they are just common questions but I found it funny how it sounded like flirting 😂😂
You and your family looked so beautiful in the traditional clothes. The haircut suited you. Thank you for being so friendly to people.❤
Lived in Beijing for 3 years from 06-09 and I can count on one hand the amount of people that 'hated america'.
Exactly
so funny. u yourself accusing citizen couldnt differ between goverment and citizen. is only the western propaganda that wants their citizen to hate china and their communism.

Haven’t watched a video from you in a bit, looks like you slimmed down a lot. Congrats on the great work man.
It’s always so beautiful to see how borders and barriers quickly fade when people openly engage with the people, with/in the culture and/or language of that which they visit!
Humans want to interact! Want to! In a peaceful way! ❤
wow everyone is so nice, fills my heart hehe
Beautiful heart-warming interactions here brother. Thank you for sharing yourself with the world, I feel energized just witnessing you.
15:17 …Did she just…throw food at him? 😂
That was hilarious. He went back to cleaning the table afterwards. 😆
That part was the best part! It's like a subway altercation in New York, but in China.
They were lovers.
they were flirting!
Looking at it frame by frame it looks like a roll of tape
Edit: Someone else said it looked like an ash tray, that could also be it
This for me is the best one you’ve done to date. To be there with your wife and son is so heart warming.
These Chinese folks are so lovely and welcoming that it just warms my heart watching this
Been watching for years and I can say you are looking great man keep it up!
Looking good and Healthy! Good Going Xiaoma
One of the best videos you’ve ever done. So amazing to see such a lovely country and people. Plus your family too. Very blessed to have been able too your videos, travels and life over the years. Ty.
The courtesy and care everyone puts out is beautiful ❕
i've been bingewatching your old content and this is a true blessing for me right now thank you for posting xiaoma!!! you should do a video in fuzhou after all that work put in to learn fuzhounese!!!
Just wanted to give you props for the new fitness grind 💪 you’re looking really good man
Chinese people are so kind . The train looks super cool .
Everyone is so nice and curious, I love it!!! Your wife is very cute too ;)
Hello from Texas! I've followed you for many years and your videos are always very inspiring. The people there are so friendly.
I feel like Americans definitely need to see more videos like this. Majority of our media demonizes China and Chinese citizens as well which is absurd when those citizens are just normal people like us. ❤
We are fed nothing but propaganda to keep people in check with fear.
They will still believed their propaganda from the US government and not realized that they're puppet to them.
It’s just news and politics. Most Americans don’t look down upon other countries.
I am not gonna lie. I have seen many UA-cam videos of American in China and the Chinese were all kind and positive. However it is the media and politics that are always criticizing china. People need to choose humanity over propaganda.
Love your vids hate big crowds i couldn't handle bieng around that many people at once👍👍
This is definitely a culture shock for Americans. Americans dont encounter such big crowds unless their at some sort of concert or event.
I'm addicted to these videos!! Extremely wholesome, friendly, entertaining and fun.
It's great seeing you mingle and have small talk with the locals. You have such a beautiful family. Keep up the amazing videos!
I visited both Xi’an and Beijing a couple weeks ago. Went to Xi’an first on a tourism group in late July and causally going around in Beijing in early August. I see that you’ve visited places that I have also visited. I remember that Russian supermarket in the Muslim street and the Xi’an night market. Can’t believe I could have met you in an international country other than New York City where I currently live!
