So if I'm understanding correctly, this is just a Quad that you have to pay to add each color to instead of paying once and getting all 4?
Yes, the Quantum bar is sold as a single-color light that can be upgraded all the way to quad-color.
You don't pay more money for this option. It's simply an easier way for dealers and customers to customize their lights.
The Quantum also has the ability to be customized directly from your PC. Change patterns, modes and colors in minutes.
How does a customer go about upgrading if there is no dealer nearby? Do you just have to buy it fully unlocked?

How do we tie it into our net 30 terms?
So a customer that wants just 1 or 2 colors will have 75% and 50% (respectively) wasted space and unused LEDs, correct? Space that could be used by LEDs of the desired 1 or 2 colors? Or am I misunderstanding....
We don't consider it wasted space. We've had countless customers telling us that 1) their county changed color regulations or 2) they moved to a different state with different colors, or 3) they changed emergency professions that use different colors. With the Quantum the option is there forever.
If you just want one color or separating a bar out into 2 colors, the Fusion-S is perfect for you. More LEDs per color.
I don't understand who was asking for this in the industry. Were dealers sitting on a lot of NOS items? Are you cutting production cost by only producing one model? Are the light patterns solid state controlled or software? I guess field testing over time will tell.
With exception to the super small-time dealers who buy 2 sirens a year, every dealer will benefit from this. Yes, dealers who sell every brand of lights in this industry have had to sit on NOS items.
The production cost is more than the cost for our Quad bar. That means that if someone purchases the Quantum in its single-color state and decides not to upgrade it, our margin on that bar will be next to nothing. Feniex takes the risk, the customers and dealers have everything to gain.
You program all of your patterns through software and select all of your modes, but you can then control them through any controller.
This is just pure greed. Do you sit around a board room and just think of ways to alienate your customers?
How is this greedy? You buy a single-color bar at single-color pricing. Want dual-color? No problem! Upgrading takes minutes and you pay the difference. It costs you the same amount as it would if you purchased a dual-color bar straight up. No difference!
It costs Feniex MORE money to make a Quantum lightbar than it does a Fusion single-color bar. That means that if you purchase a single-color Quantum bar and DON'T upgrade it...our margins are practically zero. We're taking all the risk here to give people more customization. That's the opposite of greed.
