Life saver! Been arguing with my Qashqai's side lights for half an hour thinking it shouldn't be this fiddly and awkward. And have also cut my hand on that metal bar in the process.
Very useful instructions. I had to get my son to do it because my hand would not fit in the small space. It's a good idea to check the new bulb works before reinstalling it.
You can use a small socket on it, and you can also use a bigger socket for main bulbs to undo them. A tip for those with shovels for hands like myself.

Both my sidelight and dipped beam went at the same time. I thought it must be a fuse, but it wasn't. Is it usual for both bulbs to blow at the same time. Going to replace them in half an hour..
does any other parts of the headlamp need to be removed to perform this ? I just simply cant have firm grasp and put my hand in to twist the socket .... especially driver side (UK)
I need to change my passenger side but I can’t see where it is at all. I can’t even see on the driver’s side! Mine is a 2011 Qashqai. It’s a joke that they’ve designed a car like this.
The bulb I replaced was mentioned in two previous mot failures with the third pass not listing it as a failure. I bought the car after it had passed the mot with the failed bulb so someone turned a blind eye on it. Fiddly as anything 😀

Not that I'm aware, but I have known people to get their kids to do it as they can reach in better.
