I think the killing of the bird is suppose to be a nod to the fact that when people contemplate suicide, they are afraid of their pets going hungry and stuff like that, so they often give them away, put them in shelters, or more darkly, kill them.

I suppose the story line is about a women who have tendency to commit suicide due to depression. However she can choose to avoid suicide by taking medication that is the prozac. This game symbolically tells the story. The dark figure was shown to have murdered the women. But then we note that the person in the game is the dark figure. And finally it is revealed that the dark figure is the woman herself. The woman can change the story line and avoid being killed (commit suicide) by solving the puzzles. All the fuels is metaphor for medication, good diet and healthy mental life. With this, the woman would get to live during the winter 1981.

I have just finished the whole series of Cube Escape, and Seasons might be one of my favorite games. It's really cool how you can switch through time and change everything so it gets different in the present. My favorite part is Summer 1971, the soundtrack of it is wonderful, and the room is so cosy with that full moon through the window and a fancy lamp, it has a really beautiful atmosphere even if the same part foreshadows the upcoming tragedy. I also liked the connection between Harvey the parrot and the orchestral music record, it was something really cute about that, and I'm really glad that in the end I got to save her. 😃

Akmal Hakim it's a big story divided in to 4 or more games. 1,2,5,8 contains story lines which they kind of explaining what's happening. The other four games is more like Easter egg bonus, for example, the Harvey box itself is a game but you can also see the box in other games. i don't really know how the story goes. but i think the woman committed suicide (the black shadow we see on the moon is actually herself) She has mental health problem and thus the shadow she created also killed herself. And when the detective went investigate, the more he get to know rusty lake (mental house), the more he get 'crazy'. That's why during the games, when he sees mirror with the dark shadow, he says 'it was me.' The shadow represent ourselves, and how us at some point want to end our life. We all have a demon living inside us. But as i said i don't really have a clue, all of these is just a wild guess

btw,, i think Harvey's Box represent us as the bird that had been released in the Season as the starting of the game starting with a caption "Where am i going?" or something like that...(i forgot actlly)..Whatever it is,there is just my opinion...thanks for your explanation...

Me either! I tried everything and it just twitches or screams. Kind of a dump ass game if you can't even beat it by playing it properly.

.The safe combination is used for EVERY safe.
SPRING walkthrough
Go to cabinet and open up drawers 1&3.
Pick up spoon and matches.
Exit out by clicking an arrow. I suggest right since you'll be turning that way anyways.
Turn right using the arrow at the right of your screen.
Open the window curtains by clicking twice.
Turn on the light (the switch by the left)
Look "up" (the arrow at the top of the screen)
Grab the white triangle (the photo piece)
Go "down"
Click on the window.
Click the very bottom left panel
Collect photo piece
Go right
Open blue cupboard
Collect pan (it's a pot), the wooden log and bird seed.
Close cupboard doors.
Go back to the left.
Click on bird cage.
This is Harvey.
Using the bird seed (click on it once form your inventory, then click the food tray) feed Harvey.
Click on Harvey twice.
Collect the egg.
Exit out and return to the kitchen.
Click on the facet.
Put the empty pan under the tap. Click on either handle to run water.
Collect the pan of water.
Put the pan of the left side of the stove.
Click on the second-to-the-left knob to turn gas on.
Using matches, light the fire under the pan (click under the pan)
Put the egg into the pan.
Use the spoon to pull the egg out.
Place the egg on the egg cup.
Click on the egg five times with the spoon to crack it.
Collect the black cube.
Zoom out and turn to the right.
Click on the radio.
Collect photo piece.
Put the wooden log into the fireplace.
Use matches to light it.
Zoom out.
Click on the empty photo frame.
Click again to pull it down.
Ignore the flashing lights for now.
Click on each photo piece and add them to the photo frame (one at a time.)
Click on the bottom of the frame to slide it up.
Put the black cube in the box.
Slide the frame down.
Click three times.
Enter SUMMER
SUMMER walkthrough
Click on the clock.
Collect photo piece.
Zoom out.
Go to the cabinets.
Collect photo piece and binocular.
Click the bud/finger/hand 14 times.
Collect photo piece.
Open the first and fourth drawers to obtain matches and a screwdriver.
Zoom out. Head right. Open curtains like you did before.
Turn on light.
Look "up" again.
Collect key.
Look "down".
Go right twice.
Click on the new radio.
Collect plug.
Zoom out.
Use key to open wooden drawer.
Click on the weird lamp-thing on the blue stool.
Use plug on the end of the cable.
Use the screwdriver to fix.
Click on the cable to plug in.
Zoom out.
Click on the mantle.
Collect cassette.
Zoom out and go to the radio.
Open the cassette player.
Put the cassette in.
Close the player.
Click the first button.
Hit it twice more.
Collect the tape.
Go right twice.
Turn off lights.
Go left twice.
Put tape in the fireplace.
Using matches, burn the tape.
Go back to weird lamp on the blue stool.
Flick the switch.
Collect photo piece.
Flip the machine off.
Zoom out.
Go back to window.
Click on window.
Using binoculars, click on the moon/girl until murder scene is over. (8+1 to get out.)
Reverse the numbers, and they should be 1487. Remember this code.
Head back to the fireplace area.
Zoom in on the safe and click once, four times, eight times then seven times. (1 click, 1st box, 4 clicks, 2nd box etc.)
Collect the shrimp.
Zoom out and go to the kitchen.
Zoom in on the oven.
Use screwdriver to loosen oven door.
Put the shrimp in the oven.
Click the red dial.
Use matches to light oven.
Close oven door.
Open the oven door.
Click on the lake 5 times.
Collect cube.
Click once to exit.
Go back to the living room area (the one with the fireplace)
Click on the mantle.
Click the bottom of the frame to pull it down.
Put all the photo pieces in the frame.
Click the bottom of the frame to slide it up.
Put the cube in the flashing box.
Click on the bottom of the frame.
Click thrice.
Enter FALL
FALL walkthrough
*Note* There is a lot of blood here. You may find some parts of this disturbing. If so, stop now.
Go to the cabinets.
Open 2nd drawer to retrieve knife.
Zoom out.
Head right.
Open curtains.
Turn on light.
Go right.
Click on the facet.
Collect photo piece.
Zoom out and head to living room.
Zoom in on the TV.
Turn it on with the square button at the bottom.
Look through channels with the numbers provided, or use this (3612453254)
Collect cube.
//Optional Turn off TV.
Zoom out.
Look "up".
Click on eye until it closes.
Look "down".
Collect photo piece.
Go to the cork board.
Collect photo piece.
Go back to Harvey.
:*( Use the knife to kill Harvey.
Click on the cut to retrieve the final piece of the photo.
Back to the living room!
Finish the memory like you've been doing so far.
Enter WINTER
WINTER walkthrough
CABINET TIME!
1st and 4th drawers to collect matches and a hatchet.
Zoom out and turn right.
LIGHTS ON as always, if you're like me this game is creepy without lights.
Use the hatchet to break down the boards on the window (6 clicks) DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE WITH THE WINDOW.
Zoom out.
Turn right into the kitchen.
Look at the pictures hanging on the wall, obtained from previous 'memories'/seasons.
Memorize or write down the times for each seasonal memory. I suggest writing them down.
Collect blueprint piece.
Zoom out.
Open the right blue cabinet drawer and collect glass.
Zoom out.
Zoom in on oven.
Collect blueprint piece.
Zoom out.
Click on the telephone lamppost thing.
Collect blueprint piece.
Zoom out.
Go to the living room.
Zoom in on the radio.
REMEMBER 13:10 (1:10)!
Zoom out.
Go to the cork board.
If you have something to write these equations on, write all of them down to the best of your ability. If not, you can always come back here.
Zoom out.
Click on the telephone lamppost thing and collect blueprint piece.
Zoom out.
Head back to your starting room. (clock room)
Click on the clock.
Remember that time? 13:10/1:10? Use that now. (inner for hours, outer for minutes.)
Zoom out.
Click on the base of the clock.
Collect cube. (Don't be shocked, you're the murderer)
Back to the living room.
Put the wood in the fireplace.
Light the fire with the matches.
Complete the photo, insert the BLUE cube, and click three times.
BAM YOU'RE DONE! ...right? No, this game isn't done with you yet you murderer.
Enter TIMETRAVEL
TIMETRAVEL 1 walkthrough
First of all, you may want to pay attention. This part requires a lot of attention. Stay focused and DO NOT MAKE ANY MISTAKES!!!!!!!!
Pick spring as your first destination.
Exit out of the portal.
Head back to the entry hall (clock room)
Click on the clock.
Use the photo time for spring (9:05)
Zoom out and click the "locker" (base of the clock)
Collect the key, shovel and coat hanger.
Go to the supplies cabinet.
Use the shovel to take the plant out.
Zoom out and go to the living room.
Use the small black key to open the wooden drawer.
Use the safe combination. If you don't know it already it's 1487.
Collect the seed.
Zoom out and head back to entry hall.
CABINET TIME AGAIN!!!
Place the seed in the pot. Simple.
Zoom out again.
BACK TO THE LIVING ROOM.
Go to the radio. Use the coat hanger to get better reception.
Tune the radio 3 times.
Grab the small key.
Zoom out.
Use the key on Harvey's cage's lock.
Click to open the cage door.
Zoom out.
Head to the kitchen.
Collect the pan of water.
Back to the living room.
Use the pan with water to put out the fire.
Collect the wood.
Head back to windowed area.
Click on the window.
Use the wood to prop open the window.
Collect your log.
Zoom out.
Go BACK to the living room. AGAIN.
Click on the mantle.
Use the matches to light the candle. (May take 3 strikes.)
Now pick the summer memory.
Exit out of the portal mantle.
Go to entry hall.
Zoom in on the clock.
Enter in the summer memory time. (3:55)
Zoom out.
Open the locker, collect the wrench.
Head to the kitchen.
Zoom in on the stove.
Use the wrench to loosen up the valve.
Zoom out.
Back to the living room area.
Mantle/portal. Click on it.
LIGHT THE CANDLE BEFORE YOU LEAVE.
After that, you may leave and go to fall.
Exit out of the portal area.
Head to entry hall.
Click on the clock.
Enter in the final time, 11:25
Zoom out.
Open the locker.
Collect the matches.
Head back to the living room, for the thousandth time.
Mantle area, light the candle. Off you go to wintertime.
Collect the pill (Prozac)
Zoom out.
Entry hall. Be there or don't continue this game.

Collect the cactus fruit.
Zoom out.

Click on the beautiful window.
Now wreak its face. As in break it.

Pour the fruit juice in.
Flip the switch.
Zoom out and back to the blender.
Use the empty glass and fill it with water.
Pour in blender.
Put the flower in the water.
Blend.
Get the flower juice in the empty glass.
Pour the flower juice into the tele-thing IN THE KITCHEN.
Flip switch.
Zoom out and back to the blender.
Glass+Water. In blender. Prozac. In the water. Blend.
Prozac medication goes into the tele-thing AT THE WINDOW
Turn it on.
ZOOM OUT BACK. TO. BLENDING.
Mushroom in the blender? Add some water and freaky screen stuff? Perfect.
Collect the mushroom juice and put it in the tele-thing in the ENTRY HALL.
Turn the machine on to join its brethren.

safiah safiee I played the other games and I think that’s actually what happened instead. There’s this shadow behind her but in one of the games (I don’t remember which one) it says “go back to change the past” and I’m thinking that maybe she wanted to undo her suicide.
You have to play the Rusty Lake series and get to know the Vanderboom family tree. That woman is one of the past characters reincarnation. His brother promised to rebirth him in one of the future lives but she was murdered there too.
There are multiple games to this series, it tells a story. The woman is murdered and the man that murdered her regrets it and wants to change the past.

GLITCH ALERT: If you put the birdcage key in the pot of water, it turns into a shrimp :P Great game, but this glitch means I can finish it.
Either glitch, or the developer's foresaw.

I have chills. That game was amazing, even if I did have to restart it because it got stuck on the window scene in summer the second time around. I think I even like it better than Samsara Room. Thank you.

There's one contradiction though: After you freed the bird in Spring 1964, you can't kill the bird in Fall 1971 to obtain the piece of picture!

I tried to go back to fall to see if harvey was dead and my game crashed

Jesus I nearly deleted the game before I watched the walk through for fun and found a whole new part to it by revisiting the stages at specific times.
There is sound logic behind the correspondence of each "fuel tank" to the particular type of juice. You can see it in the dots that mark each one. They correspond to the dots on the bulletin board. What an excellent way to conclude an, already, rather legitimate puzzle ...if I do say so.
Turin Turambar It’s not exactly guessing. While it may seem random and ‘idiotic’ without any sort of reference point, one is CLEARLY given. The bulletin board not only shows a drawing of each object with dots going from 1-4, to inform you of the progression of items...but they also give the tube type generator things in each broom little corresponding dots for numbers. I’ve played a zillion of these escape games, and this is by far, not even CLOSE to being non-intuitive. Besides, these developers are FORCING you to not only think about the game itself, but much deeper in relation to LIFE ITSELF. Your not escaping the millionth ‘kids room’ or ‘prison escape’ in these games. NOTHING CAN RUIN THESE GAMES ASIDE A FEW WEIRD GLITCHES IN THE CUBE GANES OR A NEED TO 3 STAR MASTER THEIR PREMIUM PAID GANES LIKE RL HOTEL, BUT REALLY FOR THE THOUGHT AND EFFORT THEYVE PUT INTO EVERY GAME, I HAVENT SEEN ANYONE ELSE BE SO NEGATIVE OVER A FREE, THATS ... FREE GAME... THAT LITERALLY YOU EITHER QUIT N DONT BITCH, OR YOU ENJOY IT FOR WHAT ITS WORTH. IVE YET TO ONLY FINISH SEASONS IN YRS NOW N AM TRYING TO NOT HIT A GLITCH I HAVE THAT MEANS I LITERALLY CANNOT FINISH THE GAME PERIOD!! N KNOW WHAT?? Grow the hell up, drop these guys a while TWO OR AT MOST THREE BUCKS on a premium game (n I’m sick of even kids LET ALONE ADULTS, saying “waaaa I can’t afford it. Plz take away the ads on your free stuff n make your paid games free too!!!” Meanwhile you have more than that in your frickin piggy bank or on top of your dresser in just change alone, n have no issue spending that every single day on some USELESS 5 MINUTE GIMMICK AT THE CHECKOUT COUNTER, OR A CANDY BAR... SMH.
While my glitch is common it seems n needs to be fixedcxmuse your brain to see the obvious. Or better yet, stick with the same old “there’s a million just like it” style of escape games.

Not hating, legit question: How old are you? I'm 40, and using a coat hanger was a pretty common make-shift radio antenna when I was a kid.

i know this comment is super old, but i ran into the same problem. i fixed it though by making sure i set the bird free in the first level. i used the hanger in the radio to get the key for the cage.

Hey Rusty Lake. I don't know if that's on purpose but when you boil the yellow key instead of using it to free the bird, you collect a shrimp with the spoon (after boiling the key in the pan). And I think you cannot finish the game after that :D

I really love this game and I have played all the series of cube escape. I also played samsara room. My favorite was the theatre themed one. But my one problem is that cube escape : paradox, the second chapter, is not free.
If it was free it would be great but unfortunately it's not. But totally I love all their series. It would be nice if they made more free series. 😊👌👌😍

I see many people say it was suicide, but what you don't see in the video is that in fall, the bird screams, imitating the woman before you kill it if you tap it without a knife, and I guess you may scream anyway because it's painful but it's a little odd

Yoachan I've been thinking about this, I think this could be about mental illnesses. This would also explain why there was Prozac, because Prozac is a drug to help depression. Her depression made her kill herself, so she was saying go back in time to keep her from killing herself. So, I think kind of, she did, and then she went back and fixed it all
Ivana Maksimovic It could also be less literal - she lost herself in depression rather than killed herself (she's replaced by the black shape - she always says"it's me" ) - so she could be reclaiming her past instead of timetravelling. While the prozac has clear meaning, I think it's also worth noting that birds often represent hope, and it's brought back to her with music which is often considered therapeutic itself. And, uh, mushrooms and peyote for some reason.

If you look in the mirror, it shows that you are the black shadow, which is also the woman in this situation. I think instead of a detective, you are the woman trying to find a cube. Maybe she saw what the cube was, hence the blueprints. Maybe bc she knew of the cube, it put her into depression and gave her suicidal thoughts, or it made someone kill her.

Ok so can I get a synopsis on wtf happened in this story. I got as much as she killed her other self and had to go back in time to change events so she didn't kill herself, but thats all i understand. I think this would make a pretty scary nightmare.

yesterday I closed the game right when I was on the minute 12:52 in this walkthrough bc I was sleepy and wanted to keep playing later, and today I wanted to continue and when I re opened it I only found the birdcage and the window with the pigeon on a blank screen. When I pressed on them they disappeared and only left a blank screen. I tried closing the game and pressing in a different order but nothing happens... I'ts frustrating cause it is the only thing I need to finish it...

I got addicted at this game months ago but I have a fear of ghosts lol so after playing 3 games of rusty lake games I was like "Okay, that's it" 'cause I might dream of it someday lol
I came here just to say that I've been looking for that mushroom tune for years. Seriously, that gorgeous music which plays when you stop for a while when doing the thing with TV channels 5:07. You stop on that red bloody forest and you hear that wonderful music. And so when I first heard it I couldn't find this, because on your site you only list kevin mc leod and Erik Satie. And over the years I've been downloading the game only to make it to the TV part so I could listen to that amazing orchestral masterpiece. There was just something charming about this, maybe also because the whole scene with mushrooms making it so eerie, etc. Anyway, you ugly people never credited the author of this tune. You never did, my poor soul has been searching for this so long, only to finally find that it's majestic Ludwig van Beethoven's egmont overture. How dare you do this to me, it was old, well known Ludwik van and I listened to almost every stupid piece from Satie to find that he wasn't the one that composed it since the begging. What a shame. I don't like Satie's music now, but I'm very glad I have my overture now and it's great. Thanks for reading and praise the beethoven

If you mean 1487, that's in summer, when there's teh moon outside, look at it with the telescope and you'll see the woman writing the number on a window, then the shadow person kills her
