smoke ascended through the stone.
I passed a thread through Moon,
and there marsh marigolds bloomed.
Bast from stone I sought to cleave in vain
The splitting edge I could not attain.
Sought to weave water in a pattern,
Yet could not twine the waves.
The wise weavers understand,
Weaving's not for any hand.
With knowing, weaving's gentle grace,
Without, a struggle to embrace.
I wrote the patterns
Sun wove for me.
Here a cross, there a cross,
Midst them a white little key.
