Spain and Portugal are very similar when you walk through these towns, except for the language and food. Wine is delicious in both countries. I hope to be able to see more towards the north, and see Gumaraius. Hope I spelled it correctly. My family's origins on maternal side were, and still are, from there.

При посещението ни, за съжаление валеше проливен дъжд и силен вятър, но беше прекрасно. Преодоляхме студа с малко порто и вкусно ястие. И отново обикаляхме улиците му, специално посетихме църквата Света Клара - още не беше реставрирана, но с патината на времето. Любимо място. Имаме авторски пейзаж на града и всеки ден му се наслаждавам. И пак искам да се върна...

Boa tarde Miguel, com certeza conhecer os bairros das cidades turísticas é essencial para o turista, mas nem sempre fazemos isso, porque acabamos por visitar onde a maioria dos turistas vão, mas o bom é que você aí fazer esses vídeos nos incentivam a fazer estas rotas e afinal de contas uma cidade é muito mais do que apenas seus pontos turísticos, vai muito além disso.. parabéns pelo vídeo.... abraços e tenha uma ótima semana 🤝👍

That was terrific… it’s lovely and fascinating in Cedofeita! I’m with you, not a fan of the modern architecture… especially all that cement. What I did find fascinating is the ground around the building… waves of stone… or is it pavement too. It had colour and looks to me like it is more natural (than grey cement)…

Those waves of stone are made of travertine marble, which I don't think is "real" marble. Or maybe it is? I'm not a geologist. 😀

Thank you, Miguel, for introducing us to the Cedofeita neighborhood. Very nice place. I concur with your sentiments regarding the aesthetics of the architecture of the "Casa da Musica" concert hall. My guess is that the acclaim the concert hall has received is owed to the fact that the engineers were able to overcome the challenges of the building's design and with the acoustics that were ultimately achieved.
Музикалната къща не се вписва в атмосферата на историческия район. За съжаление новите архитектурни опити вероятно ще останат дълго във времето. Често са провокативни, но не по добрия начин и не допринасят за обогатяване на дадено място. Подобен пример - Центъра Бобур в Париж.
@@user-qy4ov8dp5y I agree. It may be that all nine of the Greek mythology Muses have been spending the 21st Century getting drunk, because the “Casa da Musica” concert hall looks like a scarecrow that is trying to keep birds from foraging in the Porto wine vineyards, and not having much success.

Construction of Casa da Musica was one of those soap operas with absurd story lines. Maybe one day I'll make a video about it. 😅 The initial cost of construction, excluding the value of the land, was 33 million euros, but it ended up costing 111.2 million euros and was completed four years after the initial deadline. 🤔
@@POVTours The way you describe it, the Casa da Musica saga unfolded as a "Theater of the Absurd" drama in which no one was surprised about the cost overrun and nobody showed any interest in the “follow the money trail” story line.

Um passeio deveras interessante pelo Porto. Cedofeita é, de fato, um lugar de contrastes e harmonias. Mas eu ainda prefiro as cidades menores. Acho que é porque moro em uma cidade grande. Uma semana excelente para todos nós! Abraços! Beijão para sua mamãe!
