This needs to be turned into a marching band show because it has everything a marching band show requires: an opener, a ballad (the slow part of the show), and a closer
Poor Bruce Healey. He composed one of the most original and creative scores ever created for a theme park show and it ended up only lasting four months because everybody else screwed up so badly!
It’s a damn shame. I would be so happy if Disneyland used the theme song in a show in the future but they like to bury this show and pretend it didn’t happen. Only Disney parks overseas have used it. I have a feeling this show has a small cult following lol. I liked it a lot as a kid, even though as an adult I can see its flaws.
I know everyone panned this but I actually consider myself lucky for seeing it in person. I was only 17 when it came out but I totally remember being in the moment during the animation sequence and the baroque hoedown melody at the end gave me chills. Oh, the confetti! I actually felt everyone around me was totally in love with this parade. The BIG problem I realized afterward was the logistical nightmare it caused in choking off areas of the park making it impossible to get past crowds. Those floats just sat there and didn’t move until the end…it was definitely creative but it wasn’t parade.
Bruce Healey did such a good job on this. I love the homage to the Main Street Electrical Parade in the music. Every Night Parade since MSEP has had some tune of baroque hoedown somewhere in it!
I first heard this soundtrack on the Paris Disney st Patrick’s day fireworks and loved all the Disney Celtic/Irish renditions!! And now I finally found out where they got the music from that fireworks show light magic! Love this and it’s now on my st Patrick’s day playlist!
I’m so happy they use the music in’s Disneyland Paris when I saw it I literally cry. I was part of the auditioning process of the parade and rehearsals…. Great memories
One of the most magical and delightful parade show. Great music, amazing floats, talented dancers, beautiful costumes, sadly the audience were not really for a new show. I really wish Disneyland can bring this show back
So, uh, this was the show that my parents worked while my mom was pregnant with me. They told me it was hell, and that I would start kicking when I heard the music.
Where they failed was that it was just the same visuals and same fairy characters for almost the entire show. So much more could have been done with the fiber optics they paid so dearly for.
I love this soundtrack SO much! I love how Celtic the music is and it always has such a *magical* touch to it. Thank you for re-posting this soundtrack, and I LOVE your soundtracks!!!
This is awesome. I bought the original CD soundtrack the year Light Magic debuted, and although the actual "show" itself was not very good, the music is really good and very "Disney". I hope this video will help people that aren't familiar with LM still enjoy the soundtrack.
Feel this show was ahead of its time. The floats and music are amazing! Just noticed callbacks to Fantillusion during the video segment I feel if this debuted at Tokyo Disney it would have been a success. Any chance of a mix with the intro?
Hi! Light Magic was a "streetacular" (basically a parade but with rolling stages that would stop at certain points on Main Street) that ran during the summer of 1997 at Disneyland in California. It wasn't very well-received at all but I've always loved the musical score.
AND KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE!!! Love this streetacular. It wasn't the greatest, but the soundtrack is beautiful.

this is the most true ever

I still adore this Streettacular, it was very ambitious for it's time. and that Soundtrack is absolutely beautiful

it's a beautiful soundtrack! ❤️❤️😍🧚♂️🧚♀️
but it doesn't help with how problematic this parade is
One of my all time favorite show soundtracks! This was so far ahead of it's time. A shame it wasn't well received.

ga
One of my favorite soundtracks, even if the parade was a little messy.

Honestly, this would make a great on stage show.
That’s what it should’ve been from the day it was conceived
I never got to see this show but the soundtrack is AMAZING

Agreed! The soundtrack was truly the best part.
I would love to see you do a Magic Happens Master Mix!
Wow 🤩
Nice 👍
This is a great sound track!

Hi! The version of Light Magic with the narration doesn't exist in good quality, I'm sorry to say.
I found this in the weirdest way possible, a tf2 map
very light
very magic
Where is this from?
This replaced Disneyland’s Main Street Electrical Parade.
